Transliteration 1: Aliflammeem
Yusuf Ali 1: A. L. M.
Mohsin Khan: 1: Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.]
Urdu 1: المۤ


2  
أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ
Transliteration 2: Ahasiba alnnasu an yutrakoo an yaqooloo amanna wahum la yuftanoona
Yusuf Ali 2: Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested?
Mohsin Khan: 2: Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested.
Urdu 2: کیا لوگ خیال کرتے ہیں یہ کہنے سےکہ ہم ایمان لائے ہیں چھوڑ دیئے جائیں گے اور ان کی آزمائش نہیں کی جائے گی

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ
Transliteration 3: Walaqad fatanna allatheena min qablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoo walayaAAlamanna alkathibeena
Yusuf Ali 3: We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.
Mohsin Khan: 3: And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test).
Urdu 3: اور جو لوگ ان سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں ہم نے انہیں بھی آزمایا تھا سو الله انہیں ضرور معلوم کرے گا جو سچے ہیں اور ان کو بھی جو جھوٹے ہیں


4  
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
Transliteration 4: Am hasiba allatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyiati an yasbiqoona saa ma yahkumoona
Yusuf Ali 4: Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment!
Mohsin Khan: 4: Or think those who do evil deeds that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our punishment)? Evil is that which they judge!
Urdu 4: کیا وہ لوگ جو برے کام کرتے ہیں یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ ہمارے قابو سے نکل جائیں گے برا ہے جو فیصلہ کرتے ہیں

مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Transliteration 5: Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahi fainna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
Yusuf Ali 5: For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things).
Mohsin Khan: 5: Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
Urdu 5: جو شخص الله سے ملنے کی امید رکھتا ہو سو الله کا وعدہ آ رہا ہے اور وہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے


6  
وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 6: Waman jahada fainnama yujahidu linafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 6: And if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation.
Mohsin Khan: 6: And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).
Urdu 6: اور جو شخص کوشش کرتا ہے تو اپنے ہی بھلے کے لیے کرتا ہے بے شک الله سارے جہان سے بے نیاز ہے


7  
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 7: Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanukaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allathee kanoo yaAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 7: Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds.
Mohsin Khan: 7: Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , and do not give up their faith because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do.
Urdu 7: اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کیے ہم ان کے گناہوں کو ان سے دور کردیں گےاور انہیں ان کے اعمال کا بہت اچھا بدلہ دیں گے


8  
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۚ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 8: Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi husnan wain jahadaka litushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 8: We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did.
Mohsin Khan: 8: And We have enjoined on man to be good and dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you join with Me (in worship) anything (as a partner) of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what you used to do.
Urdu 8: اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اور اگر وہ تجھے اس بات پر مجبور کریں کہ تو میرے ساتھ اسے شریک بنائے جسے تو جانتا بھی نہیں تو ان کا کہنا نہ مان تم سب نے لوٹ کرمیرے ہاں ہی آنا ہے تب میں تمہیں بتا دوں گا جو کچھ تم کرتے تھے


9  
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ
Transliteration 9: Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanudkhilannahum fee alssaliheena
Yusuf Ali 9: And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous.
Mohsin Khan: 9: And for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and the other articles of Faith) and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall make them enter with (in the entrance of) the righteous (in Paradise).
Urdu 9: اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے ہم انہیں ضرور نیک بندوں میں داخل کر یں گے


10  
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 10: Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi faitha oothiya fee Allahi jaAAala fitnata alnnasi kaAAathabi Allahi walain jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna inna kunna maAAakum awalaysa Allahu biaAAlama bima fee sudoori alAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 10: Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation?
Mohsin Khan: 10: Of mankind are some who say: "We believe in Allah." But if they are made to suffer for the sake of Allah, they consider the trial of mankind as Allah's punishment; and if victory comes from your Lord, (the hypocrites) will say: "Verily we were with you (helping you)." Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the breasts of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn).
Urdu 10: اورکچھ ایسے لوگ بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں ہم الله پر ایمان لائے پھر جب انہیں الله کی راہ میں کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے لوگوں کی تکلیف کو الله کے عذاب کے برابر سمجھتے ہیں اور اگر تیرے رب کی طرف سے مدد پہنچے تو کہتے ہیں ہم تو تمہارے ساتھ تھے اور کیا الله جہان والوں کے دلوں کی باتوں سے اچھی طرح واقف نہیں ہے


11  
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ
Transliteration 11: WalayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena amanoo walayaAAlamanna almunafiqeena
Yusuf Ali 11: And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites.
Mohsin Khan: 11: Verily, Allah knows those who believe, and verily, He knows the hypocrites [i.e. Allah will test the people with good and hard days to discriminate the good from the wicked, although Allah knows all that before putting them to test].
Urdu 11: اور البتہ الله انہیں ضرور معلوم کرے گا جو ایمان لائے اور البتہ منافقوں کو بھی معلوم کرکے رہے گا


12  
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ
Transliteration 12: Waqala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo ittabiAAoo sabeelana walnahmil khatayakum wama hum bihamileena min khatayahum min shayin innahum lakathiboona
Yusuf Ali 12: And the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars!
Mohsin Khan: 12: And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Follow our way and we will verily bear your sins." Never will they bear anything of their sins. Surely, they are liars.
Urdu 12: اور کافر ایمان والوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ تم ہمارے طریقہ پر چلو اور ہم تمہارے گناہ اٹھا لیں گے حالانکہ وہ ان کے گناہوں میں سے کچھ بھی اٹھانے والے نہیں بے شک وہ جھوٹے ہیں


13  
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
Transliteration 13: Walayahmilunna athqalahum waathqalan maAAa athqalihim walayusalunna yawma alqiyamati AAamma kanoo yaftaroona
Yusuf Ali 13: They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods.
Mohsin Khan: 13: And verily, they shall bear their own loads, and other loads besides their own; and verily, they shall be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about that which they used to fabricate.
Urdu 13: اور البتہ اپنے بوجھ اٹھائیں گے اور اپنےبوجھ کے ساتھ اور کتنے بوجھ اور البتہ قیامت کےد ن ان سے ضرور پوچھا جائے گا ان باتو ں کے متعلق جو وہ بناتے تھے


14  
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
Transliteration 14: Walaqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi falabitha feehim alfa sanatin illa khamseena AAaman faakhathahumu alttoofanu wahum thalimoona
Yusuf Ali 14: We (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin.
Mohsin Khan: 14: And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he stayed among them a thousand years less fifty years [inviting them to believe in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism), and discard the false gods and other deities]; and the Deluge overtook them while they were Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists, disbelievers).
Urdu 14: اور ہم نے نوح کو اس کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا پھر وہ ان میں پچاس برس کم ہزار برس رہے پھر انہیں طوفان نے آ پکڑا اور وہ ظالم تھے


15  
فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَصْحَابَ السَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا آيَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 15: Faanjaynahu waashaba alssafeenati wajaAAalnaha ayatan lilAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 15: But We saved him and the companions of the Ark, and We made the (Ark) a Sign for all peoples!
Mohsin Khan: 15: Then We saved him and those with him in the ship, and made it (the ship) an Ayah (a lesson, a warning) for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
Urdu 15: پھر ہم نے نوح کو اور کشتی والوں کو نجات دی اور ہم نے کشتی کو جہان والوں کے لیے نشانی بنا دیا


16  
وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَ‌ٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 16: Waibraheema ith qala liqawmihi oAAbudoo Allaha waittaqoohu thalikum khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 16: And (We also saved) Abraham: behold, he said to his people, "Serve Allah and fear Him: that will be best for you- If ye understand!
Mohsin Khan: 16: And (remember) Ibrahim (Abraham) when he said to his people: "Worship Allah (Alone), and fear Him: that is better for you if you did but know.
Urdu 16: اور ابراھیم کو جب اس نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ الله کی عبادت کرو اور اس سے ڈرو اگر تم سمجھ رکھتے ہو تو تمہارے لیے یہی بہتر ہے


17  
إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوا عِندَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
Transliteration 17: Innama taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi awthanan watakhluqoona ifkan inna allatheena taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi la yamlikoona lakum rizqan faibtaghoo AAinda Allahi alrrizqa waoAAbudoohu waoshkuroo lahu ilayhi turjaAAoona
Yusuf Ali 17: "For ye do worship idols besides Allah, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides Allah have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from Allah, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return.
Mohsin Khan: 17: "You worship besides Allah only idols, and you only invent falsehood. Verily, those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you provision: so seek your provision from Allah (Alone), and worship Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be brought back.
Urdu 17: تم الله کے سوا بتوں ہی کی عبادت کرتے ہو اور جھوٹ بناتے ہو جنہیں تم الله کے سوا پوجتے ہو وہ تمہاری روزی کے مالک نہیں سو تم الله ہی سے روزی مانگو اور اسی کی عبادت کرو اوراسی کا شکر کرو اسی کے پاس لوٹائے جاؤ گے


18  
وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ
Transliteration 18: Wain tukaththiboo faqad kaththaba omamun min qablikum wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeenu
Yusuf Ali 18: "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the messenger is only to preach publicly (and clearly)."
Mohsin Khan: 18: "And if you deny, then nations before you have denied (their Messengers). And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly."
Urdu 18: اور اگر تم جھٹلاؤ تو تم سے پہلے بہت سی جماعتیں جھٹلا چکی ہیں اور رسول کے ذمہ تو بس کھول کر پہنچا دینا ہی ہے


19  
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ۚ إِنَّ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ
Transliteration 19: Awalam yaraw kayfa yubdio Allahu alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun
Yusuf Ali 19: See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah.
Mohsin Khan: 19: See they not how Allah originates the creation, then repeats it. Verily, that is easy for Allah.
Urdu 19: کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ الله کس طرح پہلی دفعہ مخلوق کوپیدا کرتا ہے پھر اسے لوٹائے گا بے شک یہ الله پر آسان ہے


20  
قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ بَدَأَ الْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ اللَّهُ يُنشِئُ النَّشْأَةَ الْآخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Transliteration 20: Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshio alnnashata alakhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
Yusuf Ali 20: Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.
Mohsin Khan: 20: Say: "Travel in the land and see how (Allah) originated the creation, and then Allah will bring forth the creation of the Hereafter (i.e. resurrection after death). Verily, Allah is Able to do all things."
Urdu 20: کہہ دو ملک میں چلو پھرو پھر دیکھو کہ اس نے کس طرح مخلوق کو پہلی دفعہ پیدا کیا پھر الله آخری دفعہ بھی پیدا کرے گا بےشک الله ہر چیز پر قادر ہے


21  
يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ
Transliteration 21: YuAAaththibu man yashao wayarhamu man yashao wailayhi tuqlaboona
Yusuf Ali 21: "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned.
Mohsin Khan: 21: He punishes whom He wills, and shows mercy to whom He wills; and to Him you will be returned.
Urdu 21: جسے چاہے گا عذاب دے گا اور جس پر چاہے رحم کرے گا اور اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جاؤ گے


22  
وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
Transliteration 22: Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wala fee alssamai wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin
Yusuf Ali 22: "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper."
Mohsin Khan: 22: And you cannot escape in the earth or in the heaven (from Allah). And besides Allah you have neither any Wali (Protector or Guardian) nor any Helper.
Urdu 22: اور تم زمین اور آسمان میں عاجز نہیں کر سکتے اور الله کےسوا تمہارا کوئی دوست اور مددگار نہیں ہے


23  
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَلِقَائِهِ أُولَـٰئِكَ يَئِسُوا مِن رَّحْمَتِي وَأُولَـٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Transliteration 23: Waallatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi waliqaihi olaika yaisoo min rahmatee waolaika lahum AAathabun aleemun
Yusuf Ali 23: Those who reject the Signs of Allah and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty.
Mohsin Khan: 23: And those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and the Meeting with Him, it is they who have no hope of My Mercy: and it is they who will have a painful torment.
Urdu 23: اور جن لوگو ں نے الله کی آیتوں اور اس کے ملنے سے انکار کیا وہ میری رحمت سے نا امید ہو گئے ہیں اور ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے


24  
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَ‌ٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Transliteration 24: Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona
Yusuf Ali 24: So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe.
Mohsin Khan: 24: So nothing was the answer of [Ibrahim's (Abraham)] people except that they said: "Kill him or burn him." Then Allah saved him from the fire. Verily, in this are indeed signs for a people who believe.
Urdu 24: پھر اس کی قوم کا اس کے سوا اور کوئی جواب نہ تھا کہ اسے مار ڈالو یا جلا ڈالو پھر الله نے اسے آگ سے نجات دی بے شک اس میں ان کے لیے نشانیاں ہیں جو ایماندار ہیں


25  
وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ
Transliteration 25: Waqala innama ittakhathtum min dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayati alddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfuru baAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukum baAAdan wamawakumu alnnaru wama lakum min nasireena
Yusuf Ali 25: And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides Allah, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have none to help."
Mohsin Khan: 25: And [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "You have taken (for worship) idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of this world, but on the Day of Resurrection, you shall disown each other, and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and you shall have no helper."
Urdu 25: او رکہا تم الله کو چھوڑ کر بتوں کو لیے بیٹھے ہو تمہاری آپس کی محبت دنیا کی زندگی میں ہے پھر قیامت کے دن ایک دوسرے کا انکار کرے گا اور ایک دوسرے پر لعنت کرے گا اور تمہارا ٹھکانہ آگ ہوگا اور تمہارے لیے کوئی بھی مددگار نہ ہوگا


26  
 ۞ فَآمَنَ لَهُ لُوطٌ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Transliteration 26: Faamana lahu lootun waqala innee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Yusuf Ali 26: But Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord: for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise."
Mohsin Khan: 26: So Lut (Lot) believed in him [Ibrahim's (Abraham) Message of Islamic Monotheism]. He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "I will emigrate for the sake of my Lord. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. "
Urdu 26: پھر اس پر لوط ایمان لایا اور ابراھیم نے کہا بے شک میں اپنے رب کی طرف ہجرت کرنے والا ہوں بے شک وہ غالب حکمت والا ہے


27  
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Transliteration 27: Wawahabna lahu ishaqa wayaAAqooba wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihi alnnubuwwata waalkitaba waataynahu ajrahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena
Yusuf Ali 27: And We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous.
Mohsin Khan: 27: And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaq (Isaac) and Ya'qub (Jacob), and We ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) (to Musa - Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to 'Îsa - Jesus), and the Qur'an (to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), all from the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world; and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous.
Urdu 27: اور ہم نے اسے اسحاق اور یعقوب عطا کیا اور اس کی نسل میں نبوت اور کتاب مقرر کردی اور ہم نے اسے اس کا بدلہ دنیا میں دیا اور وہ آخرت میں بھی البتہ نیکوں میں سے ہو گا


28  
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 28: Walootan ith qala liqawmihi innakum latatoona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 28: And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you.
Mohsin Khan: 28: And (remember) Lut (Lot), when he said to his people: "You commit Al-Fahishah (sodomy - the worst sin) which none has preceded you in (committing) it in the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn)."
Urdu 28: اور لوط کو بھیجا جب اس نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ تم وہ بے حیائی کرتے ہو جو تم سے پہلے کسی نے نہیں کی


29  
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ السَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
Transliteration 29: Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala wataqtaAAoona alssabeela watatoona fee nadeekumu almunkara fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo itina biAAathabi Allahi in kunta mina alssadiqeena
Yusuf Ali 29: "Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth."
Mohsin Khan: 29: "Verily, you practise sodomy with men, and rob the wayfarer (travellers)! And practise Al-Munkar (disbelief and polytheism and every kind of evil wicked deed) in your meetings." But his people gave no answer except that they said: "Bring Allah's Torment upon us if you are one of the truthful."
Urdu 29: کیا تم مردوں کے پاس جاتے ہو اور تم ڈاکے ڈالتے ہو اور اپنی مجلس میں برا کام کرتے ہو پھر اس کی قوم کے پاس اس کے سوا کوئی جواب نہ تھا کہ تو ہم پر الله کا عذاب لے آ اگر تو سچا ہے


30  
قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
Transliteration 30: Qala rabbi onsurnee AAala alqawmi almufsideena
Yusuf Ali 30: He said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief!"
Mohsin Khan: 30: He said: "My Lord! Give me victory over the people who are Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters).
Urdu 30: کہا اے میرے رب ان شریر لوگو ں پر میری مدد کر


31  
وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا إِنَّا مُهْلِكُو أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ
Transliteration 31: Walamma jaat rusuluna ibraheema bialbushra qaloo inna muhlikoo ahli hathihi alqaryati inna ahlaha kanoo thalimeena
Yusuf Ali 31: When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime."
Mohsin Khan: 31: And when Our Messengers came to Ibrahim (Abraham) with the glad tidings they said: "Verily, we are going to destroy the people of this [Lut (Lot's)] town (i.e. the town of Sodom in Palestine); truly, its people have been Zalimun [wrong-doers, polytheists disobedient to Allah, and who belied their Messenger Lut (Lot)]."
Urdu 31: اور جب ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے ابراھیم کے پاس خوشخبری لے کر آئے کہنے لگے ہم اس بستی کے لوگوں کو ہلاک کرنے والے ہیں یہاں کے لوگ بڑے ظالم ہیں


32  
قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
Transliteration 32: Qala inna feeha lootan qaloo nahnu aAAlamu biman feeha lanunajjiyannahu waahlahu illa imraatahu kanat mina alghabireena
Yusuf Ali 32: He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there: we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"
Mohsin Khan: 32: Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "But there is Lut (Lot) in it." They said: "We know better who is there. We will verily save him [Lut (Lot)] and his family except his wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk)."
Urdu 32: کہا اس میں لوط بھی ہے کہنے لگے ہم خوب جانتے ہیں جو اس میں ہے ہم لوط اور اس کے کنبہ کو بچا لیں گے مگر اس کی بیوی وہ پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں ہو گی


33  
وَلَمَّا أَن جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
Transliteration 33: Walamma an jaat rusuluna lootan seea bihim wadaqa bihim tharAAan waqaloo la takhaf wala tahzan inna munajjooka waahlaka illa imraataka kanat mina alghabireena
Yusuf Ali 33: And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind.
Mohsin Khan: 33: And when Our Messengers came to Lut (Lot), he was grieved because of them, and felt straitened on their account. They said: "Have no fear, and do not grieve! Truly, we shall save you and your family, except your wife: she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed along with those who will be destroyed from her folk).
Urdu 33: اور جب ہمارے بھیجے ہوئے لوط کے پاس آئے تو اسے ان کا آنا برا معلوم ہوا اور تنگدل ہوئے فرشتوں نے کہا خوف نہ کر اور غم نہ کھا بے شک ہم تجھے اور تیرے کنبہ کو بچا لیں گے مگرتیری بیوی پیچھے رہنے والوں میں ہوگی


34  
إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
Transliteration 34: Inna munziloona AAala ahli hathihi alqaryati rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona
Yusuf Ali 34: "For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious."
Mohsin Khan: 34: "Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious (against Allah's Command)."
Urdu 34: ہم ا س بستی والوں پر اس لیے کہ بدکاری کرتے رہے ہیں آسمان سے عذاب نازل کرنے والے ہیں


35  
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَا آيَةً بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
Transliteration 35: Walaqad tarakna minha ayatan bayyinatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona
Yusuf Ali 35: And We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand.
Mohsin Khan: 35: And indeed We have left thereof an evident Ayah (a lesson and a warning and a sign - the place where the Dead Sea is now in Palestine) for a folk who understand.
Urdu 35: اور ہم نے عقلمندوں کے لیے اس بستی کا نشان نظر آتا ہوا چھوڑ دیا


36  
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
Transliteration 36: Waila madyana akhahum shuAAayban faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha waorjoo alyawma alakhira wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena
Yusuf Ali 36: To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve Allah, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief."
Mohsin Khan: 36: And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), We sent their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah (Alone) and hope for (the reward of good deeds by worshipping Allah Alone, on) the last Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), and commit no mischief on the earth as Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupters). [Tafsir At-Tabari]
Urdu 36: اور مدین کے پاس ان کے بھائی شعیب کو بھیجا پس کہا اے میری قوم! الله کی عبادت کرو اور قیامت کے دن کی امید رکھو اور ملک میں فساد نہ مچاؤ


37  
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Transliteration 37: Fakaththaboohu faakhathathumu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena
Yusuf Ali 37: But they rejected him: Then the mighty Blast seized them, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning.
Mohsin Khan: 37: And they belied him [Shu'aib]: so the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their dwellings.
Urdu 37: سو انہوں نے اسےجھٹلایا تب انہیں زلزلہ نے آ پکڑا پھر وہ اپنے گھروں میں اوندھے پڑے رہ گئے


38  
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَاكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
Transliteration 38: WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyana lakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli wakanoo mustabsireena
Yusuf Ali 38: (Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill.
Mohsin Khan: 38: And 'Ad and Thamud (people)! And indeed (their destruction) is clearly apparent to you from their (ruined) dwellings. Shaitan (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and turned them away from the (Right) Path, though they were intelligent.
Urdu 38: اور ہم نے عاد اور ثمود کو ہلاک کیا اور تمہیں ان کے کچھ مکانات بھی دکھائی دیتے ہیں اور شیطان نے ان کے اعمال انہیں آراستہ کر دکھائے اور انہیں راہ سے روک دیا حالانکہ وہ سمجھدار تھے


39  
وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ
Transliteration 39: Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamana walaqad jaahum moosa bialbayyinati faistakbaroo fee alardi wama kanoo sabiqeena
Yusuf Ali 39: (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us).
Mohsin Khan: 39: And (We destroyed also) Qarun (Korah), Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and Haman. And indeed Musa (Moses) came to them with clear Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but they were arrogant in the land, yet they could not outstrip Us (escape Our punishment).
Urdu 39: اور قارون اور فرعون اور ہامان کو ہلاک کیا اور البتہ ان کے پاس موسیٰ نشانیاں بھی لے کر آئے تھے پھر انہوں نے ملک میں سرکشی کی اور وہ بھاگ کر نہ جا سکے


40  
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنبِهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Transliteration 40: Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathathu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi alarda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
Yusuf Ali 40: Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls.
Mohsin Khan: 40: So We punished each (of them) for his sins; of them were some on whom We sent Hasib (a violent wind with shower of stones) [as on the people of Lut (Lot)], and of them were some who were overtaken by As-Saihah [torment - awful cry. (as Thamud or Shu'aib's people)], and of them were some whom We caused the earth to swallow [as Qarun (Korah)], and of them were some whom We drowned [as the people of Nuh (Noah), or Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people]. It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged themselves.
Urdu 40: پھر ہم نے ہر ایک کو اس کے گناہ پر پکڑا پھر کسی پر تو ہم نے پتھروں کا مینہ بر سایا اور ان میں سے کسی کو کڑک نے آپکڑا اور کسی کو ان میں سے زمین میں دھنسا دیا اور کسی کو ان میں سے غرق کر دیا اور الله ایسا نہ تھا کہ ان پر ظلم کرے لیکن وہی اپنے اوپر ظلم کیا کرتے تھے


41  
مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 41: Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 41: The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew.
Mohsin Khan: 41: The likeness of those who take (false deities as) Auliya' (protectors, helpers) other than Allah is the likeness of a spider who builds (for itself) a house; but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider's house - if they but knew.
Urdu 41: ان لوگوں کی مثال جنہوں نے الله کے سوا حمایت بنا رکھے ہیں مکڑی کی سی مثال ہے جس نے گھر بنایا اور بے شک سب گھروں سے کمزور گھر مکڑی کا ہے کاش وہ جانتے


42  
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Transliteration 42: Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yadAAoona min doonihi min shayin wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Yusuf Ali 42: Verily Allah doth know of (every thing) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise.
Mohsin Khan: 42: Verily, Allah knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
Urdu 42: بےشک الله جانتا ہے جسے وہ اس کے سوا پکارتے ہیں اور وہ غالب حکمت والا ہے


43  
وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَا إِلَّا الْعَالِمُونَ
Transliteration 43: Watilka alamthalu nadribuha lilnnasi wama yaAAqiluha illa alAAalimoona
Yusuf Ali 43: And such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge.
Mohsin Khan: 43: And these similitudes We put forward for mankind; but none will understand them except those who have knowledge (of Allah and His Signs).
Urdu 43: اور یہ مثالیں ہیں جنہیں ہم لوگوں کے لیے بیان کرتے ہیں اور انہیں وہی سمجھتے ہیں جو علم والے ہیں


44  
خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَ‌ٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Transliteration 44: Khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena
Yusuf Ali 44: Allah created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a Sign for those who believe.
Mohsin Khan: 44: (Allah says to His Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Allah (Alone) created the heavens and the earth with truth (and none shared Him in their creation)." Verily! Therein is surely a sign for those who believe.
Urdu 44: الله نے آسمانو ں اور زمین کو مناسب طور پر بنایا ہے بے شک اس میں ایمان والوں کے لیے بڑی نشانی ہے


45  
اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ ۖ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ
Transliteration 45: Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoona
Yusuf Ali 45: Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.
Mohsin Khan: 45: Recite (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) what has been revealed to you of the Book (the Qur'an), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat). Verily, As-Salat (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed) and the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allah in prayers. And Allah knows what you do.
Urdu 45: جو کتاب تیری طرف وحی کی گئی ہے اسے پڑھا کرو اور نماز کے پابند رہو بے شک نماز بے حیائی اوربری بات سے روکتی ہے اور الله کی یاد بہت بڑی چیز ہے اور الله جانتا ہے جو تم کرتے ہو


46  
 ۞ وَلَا تُجَادِلُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَـٰهُنَا وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ وَاحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ
Transliteration 46: Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona
Yusuf Ali 46: And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)."
Mohsin Khan: 46: And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islamic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong; and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)."
Urdu 46: اور اہل کتاب سے نہ جھگڑو مگر ایسے طریقے سے جو عمدہ ہو مگر جو ان میں بے انصاف ہیں اور کہہ دو ہم اس پر ایمان لائے جو ہماری طرف نازل کیا گیا اور تمہاری طرف نازل کیا گیا اور ہمارا اور تمہارا معبود ایک ہی ہے اور ہم اسی کے فرمانبردار ہونے والے ہیں


47  
وَكَذَ‌ٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الْكَافِرُونَ
Transliteration 47: Wakathalika anzalna ilayka alkitaba faallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yuminoona bihi wamin haolai man yuminu bihi wama yajhadu biayatina illa alkafiroona
Yusuf Ali 47: And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs.
Mohsin Khan: 47: And thus We have sent down the Book (i.e. this Qur'an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these (who are present with you now like 'Abdullah bin Salam) and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayat [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc.,) and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islamic Monotheism].
Urdu 47: اور اسی طرح ہم نے تیری طرف کتاب نازل کی ہے پھر جنہیں ہم نے کتاب دی تھی وہ تو اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ان میں سے بھی کچھ لوگ اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ہماری آیتوں کا کافر ہی انکار کیا کرتے ہیں


48  
وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُو مِن قَبْلِهِ مِن كِتَابٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّارْتَابَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ
Transliteration 48: Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabin wala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lairtaba almubtiloona
Yusuf Ali 48: And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted.
Mohsin Khan: 48: Neither did you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) read any book before it (this Qur'an), nor did you write any book (whatsoever) with your right hand. In that case, indeed, the followers of falsehood might have doubted.
Urdu 48: اور اس سے پہلے نہ تو کوئی کتاب پڑھتا تھا اور نہ اسے اپنے دائیں ہاتھ سے لکھتا تھا اس وقت االبتہ باطل پرست شک کرتے


49  
بَلْ هُوَ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ فِي صُدُورِ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الظَّالِمُونَ
Transliteration 49: Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatun fee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wama yajhadu biayatina illa alththalimoona
Yusuf Ali 49: Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs.
Mohsin Khan: 49: Nay, but they, the clear Ayat [i.e. the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (among the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
Urdu 49: بلکہ وہ روشن آیتیں ہیں ان کے دلوں میں جنہیں علم دیا گیاہے اور ہماری آیتوں کا صرف ظالم ہی انکار کرتے ہیں


50  
وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِ ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْآيَاتُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Transliteration 50: Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun
Yusuf Ali 50: Ye they say: "Why are not Signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The signs are indeed with Allah: and I am indeed a clear Warner."
Mohsin Khan: 50: And they say: "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord? Say: "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a plain warner."
Urdu 50: اور کہتے ہیں اس پر اس کے رب کی طرف سے نشانیاں کیوں نہ اتریں کہہ دو نشانیاں تو الله ہی کے اختیار میں ہیں اور میں تو بس کھول کر سنا دینے والا ہوں


51  
أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَ‌ٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Transliteration 51: Awalam yakfihim anna anzalna AAalayka alkitaba yutla AAalayhim inna fee thalika larahmatan wathikra liqawmin yuminoona
Yusuf Ali 51: And is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe.
Mohsin Khan: 51: Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe .
Urdu 51: کیا ان کے لیے یہ کافی نہیں کہ ہم نے تجھ پر کتاب نازل کی جو ان پر پڑھی جاتی ہے بے شک اس میں رحمت ہے اور ایمان والوں کے لیے نصیحت ہے


52  
قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ أُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
Transliteration 52: Qul kafa biAllahi baynee wabaynakum shaheedan yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati waalardi waallatheena amanoo bialbatili wakafaroo biAllahi olaika humu alkhasiroona
Yusuf Ali 52: Say: "Enough is Allah for a witness between me and you: He knows what is in the heavens and on earth. And it is those who believe in vanities and reject Allah, that will perish (in the end).
Mohsin Khan: 52: Say (to them O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Sufficient is Allah for a witness between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth." And those who believe in Batil (all false deities other than Allah), and disbelieve in Allah and (in His Oneness), it is they who are the losers.
Urdu 52: کہہ دو الله میرے اور تمہارے درمیان گواہ کافی ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے جانتا ہے اور جو لوگ جھوٹ پر ایمان لائے اورالله کا انکار کیا وہی نقصان پانے والے ہیں


53  
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَّجَاءَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Transliteration 53: WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walawla ajalun musamman lajaahumu alAAathabu walayatiyannahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
Yusuf Ali 53: They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not!
Mohsin Khan: 53: And they ask you to hasten on the torment (for them): and had it not been for a term appointed, the torment would certainly have come to them. And surely, it will come upon them suddenly while they perceive not!
Urdu 53: اور تجھ سے عذاب جلدی مانگتے ہیں اور اگر ایک وعدہ مقرر نہ ہوتا تو ا ن پر عذاب آ جاتا اور البتہ ان پر اچانک آئے گا اور انہیں خبر بھی نہ ہوگی


54  
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ
Transliteration 54: YastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi wainna jahannama lamuheetatun bialkafireena
Yusuf Ali 54: They ask thee to hasten on the Punishment: but, of a surety, Hell will encompass the Rejecters of Faith!-
Mohsin Khan: 54: They ask you to hasten on the torment. And verily, Hell, of a surety, will encompass the disbelievers.
Urdu 54: تجھ سے عذاب جلدی مانگتے ہیں اور بے شک دوزخ کافروں کو گھیرلینے والی ہے


55  
يَوْمَ يَغْشَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 55: Yawma yaghshahumu alAAathabu min fawqihim wamin tahti arjulihim wayaqoolu thooqoo ma kuntum taAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 55: On the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them, and (a Voice) shall say: "Taste ye (the fruits) of your deeds!"
Mohsin Khan: 55: On the Day when the torment (Hell-fire) shall cover them from above them and from underneath their feet, and it will be said: "Taste what you used to do."
Urdu 55: جس دن عذاب انہیں ان کے اوپر سے اور پاؤں کے نیچے سے گھیر لے گا اور کہے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے اس کا مزہ چکھو


56  
يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ أَرْضِي وَاسِعَةٌ فَإِيَّايَ فَاعْبُدُونِ
Transliteration 56: Ya AAibadiya allatheena amanoo inna ardee wasiAAatun faiyyaya faoAAbudooni
Yusuf Ali 56: O My servants who believe! truly, spacious is My Earth: therefore serve ye Me - (and Me alone)!
Mohsin Khan: 56: O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me." (Alone) .
Urdu 56: اے میرے بندو جو ایمان لائے ہو میری زمین کشادہ ہے پس میری ہی عبادت کرو


57  
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Transliteration 57: Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti thumma ilayna turjaAAoona
Yusuf Ali 57: Every soul shall have a taste of death in the end to Us shall ye be brought back.
Mohsin Khan: 57: Everyone shall taste death. Then unto Us you shall be returned.
Urdu 57: ہر جاندار موت کا مزہ چکھنے والا ہے پھر ہمارے ہی پاس پھر کر آؤ گے


58  
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ الْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ نِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ
Transliteration 58: Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanubawwiannahum mina aljannati ghurafan tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha niAAma ajru alAAamileena
Yusuf Ali 58: But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness - to them shall We give a Home in Heaven,- lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers,- to dwell therein for aye;- an excellent reward for those who do (good)!-
Mohsin Khan: 58: And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to them We shall surely give lofty dwellings in Paradise, underneath which rivers flow, to live therein forever. Excellent is the reward for the workers.
Urdu 58: اور جو ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کیے البتہ ہم انہیں جنت کے بالا خانوں میں جگہ دیں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی وہاں ہمیشہ رہیں گے عمل کرنے والوں کا کیا اچھا بدلہ ہے


59  
الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
Transliteration 59: Allatheena sabaroo waAAala rabbihim yatawakkaloona
Yusuf Ali 59: Those who persevere in patience, and put their trust, in their Lord and Cherisher.
Mohsin Khan: 59: Those who are patient, and put their trust (only) in their Lord (Allah).
Urdu 59: جنہوں نے صبر کیا اور اپنے رب پر بھروسہ رکھتے ہیں


60  
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَابَّةٍ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا اللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Transliteration 60: Wakaayyin min dabbatin la tahmilu rizqaha Allahu yarzuquha waiyyakum wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
Yusuf Ali 60: How many are the creatures that carry not their own sustenance? It is Allah who feeds (both) them and you: for He hears and knows (all things).
Mohsin Khan: 60: And so many a moving (living) creature carries not its own provision! Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.
Urdu 60: اور بہت سے جانور ہیں جو اپنا رزق اٹھائے نہیں پھرتے الله ہی انہیں اور تمہیں رزق دیتا ہے اور وہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے


61  
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
Transliteration 61: Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona
Yusuf Ali 61: If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)?
Mohsin Khan: 61: And if you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they will surely reply: "Allah." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?
Urdu 61: اور البتہ اگر تو اان سے پوچھے کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کو کس نے پیدا کیا اور سورج اور چاند کو کس نے کام میں لگایا تو ضرور کہیں گے الله نے پھر کہاں الٹے جا رہے ہیں


62  
اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
Transliteration 62: Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao min AAibadihi wayaqdiru lahu inna Allaha bikulli shayin AAaleemun
Yusuf Ali 62: Allah enlarges the sustenance (which He gives) to whichever of His servants He pleases; and He (similarly) grants by (strict) measure, (as He pleases): for Allah has full knowledge of all things.
Mohsin Khan: 62: Allah enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and straitens it for whom (He wills). Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything.
Urdu 62: الله ہی اپنے بندوں میں سے جس کے لیے چاہتا ہے رزق کشادہ کر دیتا ہے اورتنگ کر دیتا ہے بے شک الله ہر چیز کا جاننے والا ہے


63  
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
Transliteration 63: Walain saaltahum man nazzala mina alssamai maan faahya bihi alarda min baAAdi mawtiha layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdu lillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona
Yusuf Ali 63: And if indeed thou ask them who it is that sends down rain from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply, "Allah!" Say, "Praise be to Allah!" But most of them understand not.
Mohsin Khan: 63: And if you were to ask them: "Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death?" they will surely reply: "Allah." Say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah!" Nay, most of them have no sense.
Urdu 63: اور البتہ اگر تو ان سے پوچھے آسمان سے کس نے پانی اتارا پھر اس سے زمین کو اس کے مرنے کے بعد زندہ کیا کہیں گے الله نے کہہ دو سب تعریف الله ہی کے لیے ہے لیکن ان میں سے اکثر نہیں سمجھتے


64  
وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ لَهِيَ الْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 64: Wama hathihi alhayatu alddunya illa lahwun walaAAibun wainna alddara alakhirata lahiya alhayawanu law kanoo yaAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 64: What is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew.
Mohsin Khan: 64: And this life of the world is only an amusement and a play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew .
Urdu 64: اور یہ دنیا کی زندگی تو صرف کھیل اور تماشا ہے اور اصل زندگی عالم آخرت کی ہے کاش وہ سمجھتے


65  
فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا فِي الْفُلْكِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
Transliteration 65: Faitha rakiboo fee alfulki daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena falamma najjahum ila albarri itha hum yushrikoona
Yusuf Ali 65: Now, if they embark on a boat, they call on Allah, making their devotion sincerely (and exclusively) to Him; but when He has delivered them safely to (dry) land, behold, they give a share (of their worship to others)!-
Mohsin Khan: 65: And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only: but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others .
Urdu 65: پھر جب کشتی میں سوار ہوتے ہیں تو خالص اعتقاد سے الله ہی کو پکارتے ہیں پھر جب انہیں نجات دے کر خشکی کی طرف لے آتا ہے فوراً ہی شرک کرنے لگتے ہیں


66  
لِيَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 66: Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum waliyatamattaAAoo fasawfa yaAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 66: Disdaining ungratefully Our gifts, and giving themselves up to (worldly) enjoyment! But soon will they know.
Mohsin Khan: 66: So that they become ingrate for that which We have given them, and that they take their enjoyment (as a warning and a threat), but they will come to know.
Urdu 66: تاکہ ناشکری کریں اس نعمت کی جو ہم نے انہیں دی تھی اور مزے اڑاتے رہیں عنقریب انہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا


67  
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا حَرَمًا آمِنًا وَيُتَخَطَّفُ النَّاسُ مِنْ حَوْلِهِمْ ۚ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَكْفُرُونَ
Transliteration 67: Awalam yaraw anna jaAAalna haraman aminan wayutakhattafu alnnasu min hawlihim afabialbatili yuminoona wabiniAAmati Allahi yakfuroona
Yusuf Ali 67: Do they not then see that We have made a sanctuary secure, and that men are being snatched away from all around them? Then, do they believe in that which is vain, and reject the Grace of Allah?
Mohsin Khan: 67: Have they not seen that We have made (Makkah) a secure sanctuary, while men are being snatched away from all around them? Then do they believe in Batil (falsehood - polytheism, idols and all deities other than Allah), and deny (become ingrate for) the Graces of Allah?
Urdu 67: کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم نے حرم کو امن کی جگہ بنا دیا ہے اور لوگ ان کے آس پاس سے اچک لیے جاتے ہیں کیا یہ لوگ جھوٹ پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور الله کی نعمت کی ناشکری کرتے ہیں


68  
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَافِرِينَ
Transliteration 68: Waman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba bialhaqqi lamma jaahu alaysa fee jahannama mathwan lilkafireena
Yusuf Ali 68: And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or rejects the Truth when it reaches him? Is there not a home in Hell for those who reject Faith?
Mohsin Khan: 68: And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or denies the truth (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his doctrine of Islamic Monotheism and this Qur'an), when it comes to him? Is there not a dwelling in Hell for disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)?
Urdu 68: اور اس سے بڑھ کر کون ظالم ہے جو الله پر جھوٹ باندھے یا حق کو جھٹلائے جب اس کے پاس آئے کیا دوزخ میں کافروں کا ٹھکانہ نہیں ہے


69  
وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Transliteration 69: Waallatheena jahadoo feena lanahdiyannahum subulana wainna Allaha lamaAAa almuhsineena
Yusuf Ali 69: And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right.
Mohsin Khan: 69: As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). And verily, Allah is with the Muhsinun (good doers)."
Urdu 69: اور جنہوں نے ہمارے لیے کوشش کی ہم انہیں ضرور اپنی راہیں سمجھا دیں گے اور بے شک الله نیکو کاروں کے ساتھ ہے
