ص ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ
Transliteration 1: Sad waalqurani thee alththikri
Yusuf Ali 1: Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth).
Mohsin Khan: 1: Sad. [These letters (Sad, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Qur'an full of reminding (explanations and honour for the one who believes in it).
Urdu 1: قرآن کی قسم ہے جو سراسر نصیحت ہے


2  
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ
Transliteration 2: Bali allatheena kafaroo fee AAizzatin washiqaqin
Yusuf Ali 2: But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism.
Mohsin Khan: 2: Nay, those who disbelieve are in false pride and opposition.
Urdu 2: بلکہ جو لوگ منکر ہیں وہ محض تکبر اور مخالفت میں پڑے ہیں


3  
كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوا وَّلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ
Transliteration 3: Kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarnin fanadaw walata heena manasin
Yusuf Ali 3: How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved!
Mohsin Khan: 3: How many a generation have We destroyed before them! And they cried out when there was no longer time for escape.
Urdu 3: ہم نے ان سے پہلے کتنی قومیں ہلاک کر دی ہیں سو انہوں نے بڑی ہائے پکار کی اور وہ وقت خلاصی کا نہ تھا


4  
وَعَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَـٰذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ
Transliteration 4: WaAAajiboo an jaahum munthirun minhum waqala alkafiroona hatha sahirun kaththabun
Yusuf Ali 4: So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies!
Mohsin Khan: 4: And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has come to them from among themselves. And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is a sorcerer, a liar.
Urdu 4: اور انہوں نے تعجب کیا کہ ان کے پاس انہیں میں سے ڈرانے والا آیا اور منکروں نے کہا کہ یہ تو ایک بڑا جھوٹا جادوگر ہے


5  
أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَـٰهًا وَاحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ
Transliteration 5: AjaAAala alalihata ilahan wahidan inna hatha lashayon AAujabun
Yusuf Ali 5: "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!"
Mohsin Khan: 5: "Has he made the alihah (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God - Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!"
Urdu 5: کیا اس نے کئی معبودوں کو صرف ایک معبود بنایا ہے بے شک یہ بڑی عجیب بات ہے


6  
وَانطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَىٰ آلِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ
Transliteration 6: Waintalaqa almalao minhum ani imshoo waisbiroo AAala alihatikum inna hatha lashayon yuradu
Yusuf Ali 6: And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)!
Mohsin Khan: 6: And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your alihah (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)!
Urdu 6: اور ان میں سے سردار یہ کہتے ہوئے چل پڑے کہ چلو اور اپنے معبودوں پر جمے رہو بے شک اس میں کچھ غرض ہے


7  
مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ
Transliteration 7: Ma samiAAna bihatha fee almillati alakhirati in hatha illa ikhtilaqun
Yusuf Ali 7: "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!"
Mohsin Khan: 7: "We have not heard (the like) of this in the religion of these later days (i.e. Christianity). This is nothing but an invention! [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi]
Urdu 7: ہم نے یہ بات اپنے پچھلے دین میں نہیں سنی یہ تو ایک بنائی ہوئی بات ہے


8  
أَأُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِن بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِي ۖ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ
Transliteration 8: Aonzila AAalayhi alththikru min baynina bal hum fee shakkin min thikree bal lamma yathooqoo AAathabi
Yusuf Ali 8: "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment!
Mohsin Khan: 8: "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay, but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur'an)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment!
Urdu 8: کیا ہم میں سے اسی پر نصیحت اتاری گئی بلکہ انہیں تو میری نصیحت میں بھی شک ہے بلکہ انہوں نے میرا ابھی عذاب بھی نہیں چکھا


9  
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ
Transliteration 9: Am AAindahum khazainu rahmati rabbika alAAazeezi alwahhabi
Yusuf Ali 9: Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure?
Mohsin Khan: 9: Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower?
Urdu 9: کیا ان کے پاس تیرے خدائے غالب فیاض کی رحمت کے خزانے ہیں


10  
أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ
Transliteration 10: Am lahum mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma falyartaqoo fee alasbabi
Yusuf Ali 10: Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)!
Mohsin Khan: 10: Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)!
Urdu 10: یا انہیں آسمانوں اور زمین کی حکومت اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے حاصل ہے تو سیڑھیاں لگا کر چڑھ جائیں


11  
جُندٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِّنَ الْأَحْزَابِ
Transliteration 11: Jundun ma hunalika mahzoomun mina alahzabi
Yusuf Ali 11: But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates.
Mohsin Khan: 11: (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the Confederates of the old times (who were defeated).
Urdu 11: وہاں ان کے لشکر شکست پائیں گے


12  
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ
Transliteration 12: Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wafirAAawnu thoo alawtadi
Yusuf Ali 12: Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes,
Mohsin Khan: 12: Before them (were many who) belied (Messengers) - the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people),
Urdu 12: ان سے پہلے قوم نوح اور عاد اور میخوں والا فرعون


13  
وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ ۚ أُولَـٰئِكَ الْأَحْزَابُ
Transliteration 13: Wathamoodu waqawmu lootin waashabu alaykati olaika alahzabu
Yusuf Ali 13: And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates.
Mohsin Khan: 13: And Thamud, and the people of Lut (Lot), and the Dwellers of the Wood: such were the Confederates.
Urdu 13: اور ثمود اور لوط کی قوم اور بن والے بھی جھٹلا چکے ہیں یہی وہ لشکر ہیں


14  
إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ
Transliteration 14: In kullun illa kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqa AAiqabi
Yusuf Ali 14: Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them).
Mohsin Khan: 14: Not one of them but belied the Messengers; therefore My Torment was justified,
Urdu 14: ان سب نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا تھا پس میرا عذاب آ موجود ہوا


15  
وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ
Transliteration 15: Wama yanthuru haolai illa sayhatan wahidatan ma laha min fawaqin
Yusuf Ali 15: These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay.
Mohsin Khan: 15: And these only wait for a single Saihah [shout (i.e. the blowing of the Trumpet by the angel Israfil -)] there will be no pause or ending thereto [till everything will perish except Allah (the only God full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour)].
Urdu 15: اور یہ ایک ہی چیخ کے منتظر ہیں جسے کچھ دیر نہیں لگے گی


16  
وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
Transliteration 16: Waqaloo rabbana AAajjil lana qittana qabla yawmi alhisabi
Yusuf Ali 16: They say: "Our Lord! hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!"
Mohsin Khan: 16: They say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we may see it) before the Day of Reckoning!"
Urdu 16: اور کہتے ہیں اے رب ہمارے! ہمارا حصہ ہمیں حساب کے دن سے پہلے ہی دے دے


17  
اصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Transliteration 17: Isbir AAala ma yaqooloona waothkur AAabdana dawooda tha alaydi innahu awwabun
Yusuf Ali 17: Have patience at what they say, and remember our servant David, the man of strength: for he ever turned (to Allah).
Mohsin Khan: 17: Be patient (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) of what they say, and remember Our slave Dawud (David), endued with power. Verily, he was ever oft-returning in all matters and in repentance (toward Allah).
Urdu 17: ان کی اِن باتوں پر صبر کر اور ہمارے بندے داؤد کو یاد کر جو بڑا طاقتور تھا بے شک وہ رجوع کرنے والا تھا


18  
إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الْجِبَالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ
Transliteration 18: Inna sakhkharna aljibala maAAahu yusabbihna bialAAashiyyi waalishraqi
Yusuf Ali 18: It was We that made the hills declare, in unison with him, Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day,
Mohsin Khan: 18: Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our Praises with him [Dawud (David)] in the 'Ashi (i.e. after the mid-day till sunset) and Ishraq (i.e. after the sunrise till mid-day).
Urdu 18: بے شک ہم نے پہاڑوں کو اس کے تابع کر دیا تھا کہ وہ شام اور صبح کو تسبیح کرتے تھے


19  
وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Transliteration 19: Waalttayra mahshooratan kullun lahu awwabun
Yusuf Ali 19: And the birds gathered (in assemblies): all with him did turn (to Allah).
Mohsin Khan: 19: And (so did) the birds assembled: all obedient to him [Dawud (David)] [i.e. they came and glorified Allah's Praises along with him]. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi ).
Urdu 19: اور پرندوں کو بھی جو جمع ہوجاتے تھے ہر ایک اس کے تابع تھا


20  
وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ
Transliteration 20: Washadadna mulkahu waataynahu alhikmata wafasla alkhitabi
Yusuf Ali 20: We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgment in speech and decision.
Mohsin Khan: 20: We made his kingdom strong and gave him Al-Hikmah (Prophethood) and sound judgement in speech and decision.
Urdu 20: اورہم نے اس کی سلطنت کو مضبوھ کر دیا تھا اور ہم نے اسے نبوت دی تھی اور مقدمات کے فیصلے کرنے کا سلیقہ (دیا تھا)


21  
 ۞ وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ
Transliteration 21: Wahal ataka nabao alkhasmi ith tasawwaroo almihraba
Yusuf Ali 21: Has the Story of the Disputants reached thee? Behold, they climbed over the wall of the private chamber;
Mohsin Khan: 21: And has the news of the litigants reached you? When they climbed over the wall into (his) Mihrab (a praying place or a private room);
Urdu 21: اور کیا آپ کو دو جھگڑنے والوں کی خبر بھی پہنچی جب وہ عبادت خانہ کی دیوار پھاند کر آئے


22  
إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَىٰ دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ
Transliteration 22: Ith dakhaloo AAala dawooda fafaziAAa minhum qaloo la takhaf khasmani bagha baAAduna AAala baAAdin faohkum baynana bialhaqqi wala tushtit waihdina ila sawai alssirati
Yusuf Ali 22: When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them, they said: "Fear not: we are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other: Decide now between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path..
Mohsin Khan: 22: When they entered in upon Dawud (David), he was terrified of them. They said: "Fear not! (We are) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, and guide us to the Right Way.
Urdu 22: جب وہ داؤد کے پاس آئے تو وہ ان سے گھبرایا کہا ڈر نہیں دو جھگڑنے والے ہیں ایک نے دوسرے پر زیادتی کی ہے پس آپ ہمارے درمیا ن انصاف کا فیصلہ کیجیئے اور بات کو دور نہ ڈالیئے اور ہمیں سیدھی راہ پر چلائیے


23  
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ
Transliteration 23: Inna hatha akhee lahu tisAAun watisAAoona naAAjatan waliya naAAjatun wahidatun faqala akfilneeha waAAazzanee fee alkhitabi
Yusuf Ali 23: "This man is my brother: He has nine and ninety ewes, and I have (but) one: Yet he says, 'commit her to my care,' and is (moreover) harsh to me in speech."
Mohsin Khan: 23: Verily, this my brother (in religion) has ninety-nine ewes, while I have (only) one ewe, and he says: "Hand it over to me, and he overpowered me in speech."
Urdu 23: بے شک یہ میرا بھائی ہے اس کے پاس ننانوے دنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس صرف ایک دنبی ہے پس اس نے کہا مجھے وہ بھی دے دے اور اس نے مجھے گفتگو میں دبا لیا ہے


24  
قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الْخُلَطَاءِ لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَّا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ ۩
Transliteration 24: Qala laqad thalamaka bisuali naAAjatika ila niAAajihi wainna katheeran mina alkhulatai layabghee baAAduhum AAala baAAdin illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati waqaleelun ma hum wathanna dawoodu annama fatannahu faistaghfara rabbahu wakharra rakiAAan waanaba
Yusuf Ali 24: (David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"... and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance).
Mohsin Khan: 24: [Dawud (David)] said (immediately without listening to the opponent): "He has wronged you in demanding your ewe in addition to his ewes. And, verily, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and they are few." And Dawud (David) guessed that We have tried him and he sought Forgiveness of his Lord, and he fell down prostrate and turned (to Allah) in repentance.
Urdu 24: کہا البتہ اس نے تجھ پر ظلم کیا جو تیری دنبی کو اپنی دنبیوں میں ملانے کا سوال کیا گور اکثر شریک ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی کیا کرتے ہیں مگر جو ایماندار ہیں اور انہوں نے نیک کام بھی کیے اور وہ بہت ہی کم ہیں اور داؤد سمجھ گیا کہ ہم نے اسے آزمایا ہے پھر اس نے اپنے رب سے معافی مانگی اور سجدہ میں گر پڑا اور توبہ کی


25  
فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ
Transliteration 25: Faghafarna lahu thalika wainna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin
Yusuf Ali 25: So We forgave him this (lapse): he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful place of (Final) Return.
Mohsin Khan: 25: So We forgave him that, and verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good place of (final) return (Paradise).
Urdu 25: پھر ہم نے اس کی یہ غلطی معاف کر دی اور اس کے لیے ہمارے ہاں مرتبہ اور اچھا ٹھکانہ ہے


26  
يَا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ
Transliteration 26: Ya dawoodu inna jaAAalnaka khaleefatan fee alardi faohkum bayna alnnasi bialhaqqi wala tattabiAAi alhawa fayudillaka AAan sabeeli Allahi inna allatheena yadilloona AAan sabeeli Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun bima nasoo yawma alhisabi
Yusuf Ali 26: O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.
Mohsin Khan: 26: O Dawud (David)! Verily! We have placed you as a successor on the earth; so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire - for it will mislead you from the Path of Allah. Verily, those who wander astray from the Path of Allah (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.
Urdu 26: اے داؤد! ہم نے تجھے زمین میں بادشاہ بنایا ہے پس تم لوگو ں میں انصاف سے فیصلہ کیا کرو اور نفس کی خواہش کی پیروی نہ کرو کہ وہ تمہیں الله کی راہ سے ہٹا دے گی بے شک جو الله کی راہ سے گمراہ ہوتے ہیں ان کے لیے سخت عذاب ہے اس لیے کہ وہ حساب کے دن کوبھول گئے


27  
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ
Transliteration 27: Wama khalaqna alssamaa waalarda wama baynahuma batilan thalika thannu allatheena kafaroo fawaylun lillatheena kafaroo mina alnnari
Yusuf Ali 27: Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)!
Mohsin Khan: 27: And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire!
Urdu 27: اور ہم نے آسمان اور زمین کو اور جو کچھ ان کے بیچ میں ہے بیکار تو پیدا نہیں کیا یہ تو ان کا خیال ہے جو کافر ہیں پھرکافروں کے لیے ہلاکت ہے جو آگ ہے


28  
أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الْمُتَّقِينَ كَالْفُجَّارِ
Transliteration 28: Am najAAalu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati kaalmufsideena fee alardi am najAAalu almuttaqeena kaalfujjari
Yusuf Ali 28: Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right?
Mohsin Khan: 28: Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds as Mufsidun (those who associate partners in worship with Allah and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2) as the Fujjar (criminals, disbelievers, the wicked)?
Urdu 28: کیا ہم کردیں گے ان کو جو ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کیے ان کی طرح جو زمین میں فساد کرتے ہیں یا ہم پرہیز گاروں کو بدکاروں کی طرح کر دیں گے


29  
كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
Transliteration 29: Kitabun anzalnahu ilayka mubarakun liyaddabbaroo ayatihi waliyatathakkara oloo alalbabi
Yusuf Ali 29: (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition.
Mohsin Khan: 29: (This is) a Book (the Qur'an) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.
Urdu 29: ایک کتاب ہے جو ہم نے آپ کی طرف نازل کی بڑی برکت والی تاکہ وہ اس کی آیتوں میں غور کریں اور تاکہ عقلمند نصحیت حاصل کریں


30  
وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Transliteration 30: Wawahabna lidawooda sulaymana niAAma alAAabdu innahu awwabun
Yusuf Ali 30: To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)!
Mohsin Khan: 30: And to Dawud (David) We gave Sulaiman (Solomon). How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
Urdu 30: اور ہم نے داؤد کو سلیمان عطا کیا کیسا اچھا بندہ تھا بےشک وہ رجوع کرنے والا تھا


31  
إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ
Transliteration 31: Ith AAurida AAalayhi bialAAashiyyi alssafinatu aljiyadu
Yusuf Ali 31: Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot;
Mohsin Khan: 31: When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause)].
Urdu 31: جب اس کے سامنے شام کے وقت تیز رو گھوڑے حاضر کیے گئے


32  
فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ
Transliteration 32: Faqala innee ahbabtu hubba alkhayri AAan thikri rabbee hatta tawarat bialhijabi
Yusuf Ali 32: And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night):
Mohsin Khan: 32: He said: "I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night).
Urdu 32: تو کہا میں نے مال کی محبت کو یاد الہیٰ سے عزیز سمجھا یہاں تک کہ آفتاب غروب ہو گیا


33  
رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًا بِالسُّوقِ وَالْأَعْنَاقِ
Transliteration 33: Ruddooha AAalayya fatafiqa mashan bialssooqi waalaAAnaqi
Yusuf Ali 33: "Bring them back to me." then began he to pass his hand over (their) legs and their necks.
Mohsin Khan: 33: Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display).
Urdu 33: ان کو میرے پاس لوٹا لاؤ پس پنڈلیوں اور گردنوں پر (تلوار) پھیرنے لگا


34  
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ
Transliteration 34: Walaqad fatanna sulaymana waalqayna AAala kursiyyihi jasadan thumma anaba
Yusuf Ali 34: And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion):
Mohsin Khan: 34: And indeed, We did try Sulaiman (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasad (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) and he did return (to Allah with obedience and in repentance, and to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allah).
Urdu 34: اور ہم نے سلیمان کو آزمایا تھا اور اس کی کرسی پر ایک دھڑ ڈال دیا تھا پھر وہ رجوع ہوا


35  
قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَّا يَنبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِّن بَعْدِي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Transliteration 35: Qala rabbi ighfir lee wahab lee mulkan la yanbaghee liahadin min baAAdee innaka anta alwahhabu
Yusuf Ali 35: He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure).
Mohsin Khan: 35: He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."
Urdu 35: کہا اے میرے رب! مجھے معاف کر اور مجھے ایسی حکومت عنایت فرما کہ کسی کو میرے بعد شایاں نہ ہو بے شک تو بہت بڑا عنایت کرنے والا ہے


36  
فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ
Transliteration 36: Fasakhkharna lahu alrreeha tajree biamrihi rukhaan haythu asaba
Yusuf Ali 36: Then We subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, Whithersoever he willed,-
Mohsin Khan: 36: So, We subjected to him the wind; it blew gently by his order whithersoever he willed,
Urdu 36: پھر ہم نے ہوا کو اس کے تابع کر دیا کہ وہ اس کے حکم سے بڑی نرمی سے چلتی تھی جہاں اسے پہنچنا ہوتا تھا


37  
وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ
Transliteration 37: Waalshshayateena kulla bannain waghawwasin
Yusuf Ali 37: As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,-
Mohsin Khan: 37: And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinn (including) every kind of builder and diver,
Urdu 37: اور شیطان کو جو سب معمار اور غوطہ زن تھے


38  
وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ
Transliteration 38: Waakhareena muqarraneena fee alasfadi
Yusuf Ali 38: As also others bound together in fetters.
Mohsin Khan: 38: And also others bound in fetters.
Urdu 38: اور دوسروں کو جو زنجیروں میں جکڑے ہوئے تھے


39  
هَـٰذَا عَطَاؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
Transliteration 39: Hatha AAataona faomnun aw amsik bighayri hisabin
Yusuf Ali 39: "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked."
Mohsin Khan: 39: [Allah said to Sulaiman (Solomon)]: "This is Our gift: so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked (of you)."
Urdu 39: یہ ہماری بخشش ہے پس احسان کر یا اپنے پاس رکھ کوئی حساب نہیں


40  
وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ
Transliteration 40: Wainna lahu AAindana lazulfa wahusna maabin
Yusuf Ali 40: And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return.
Mohsin Khan: 40: And verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good (final) return (Paradise).
Urdu 40: اور البتہ (سلیمان) کے لیے ہمارے پاس مرتبہ اورعمدہ مقام ہے


41  
وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ
Transliteration 41: Waothkur AAabdana ayyooba ith nada rabbahu annee massaniya alshshaytanu binusbin waAAathabin
Yusuf Ali 41: Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!"
Mohsin Khan: 41: And remember Our slave Ayyub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by ruining my health) and torment (by ruining my wealth)!
Urdu 41: اور ہمارے بندے ایوب کو یاد کر جب اس نے اپنے رب کو پکارا کہ مجھے شیطان نے تکلیف اور عذاب پہنچایا ہے


42  
ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَـٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ
Transliteration 42: Orkud birijlika hatha mughtasalun baridun washarabun
Yusuf Ali 42: (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink."
Mohsin Khan: 42: (Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is (a spring of) water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink."
Urdu 42: اپنا پاؤں (زمین پر مار) یہ ٹھنڈا چشمہ نہانے اور پینے کو ہے


43  
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
Transliteration 43: Wawahabna lahu ahlahu wamithlahum maAAahum rahmatan minna wathikra liolee alalbabi
Yusuf Ali 43: And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding.
Mohsin Khan: 43: And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand.
Urdu 43: اور ہم نے ان کو ان کے اہل و عیال اور کتنے ہی اور بھی اپنی مہربانی سے عنایت فرمائے اور عقلمندوں کے لیے نصیحت ہے


44  
وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِب بِّهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Transliteration 44: Wakhuth biyadika dighthan faidrib bihi wala tahnath inna wajadnahu sabiran niAAma alAAabdu innahu awwabun
Yusuf Ali 44: "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)!
Mohsin Khan: 44: "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent a slave! Verily he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
Urdu 44: اور اپنے ہاتھ میں جھاڑو کا مٹھا لے کر مارے اور قسم نہ توڑ بے شک ہم نے ایوب کو صابر پایا وہ بڑے اچھے بندے الله کی طرف رجوع کرنے والے تھے


45  
وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُولِي الْأَيْدِي وَالْأَبْصَارِ
Transliteration 45: Waothkur AAibadana ibraheema waishaqa wayaAAqooba olee alaydee waalabsari
Yusuf Ali 45: And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision.
Mohsin Khan: 45: And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaq (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding.
Urdu 45: اور ہمارے بندوں ابراھیم اور اسحاق اور یعقوب کو یاد کر جو ہاتھو ں اور آنکھوں والے تھے


46  
إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُم بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ
Transliteration 46: Inna akhlasnahum bikhalisatin thikra alddari
Yusuf Ali 46: Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter.
Mohsin Khan: 46: Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, - i.e.) the remembrance of the Home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter].
Urdu 46: بے شک ہم نے انہیں ایک خاص فضیلت دی یعنی ذکر آخرت کے لیے چن لیا تھا


47  
وَإِنَّهُمْ عِندَنَا لَمِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْأَخْيَارِ
Transliteration 47: Wainnahum AAindana lamina almustafayna alakhyari
Yusuf Ali 47: They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good.
Mohsin Khan: 47: And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best!
Urdu 47: اور بے شک وہ ہمارے نزدیک برگزیدہ بندوں میں سے تھے


48  
وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِّنَ الْأَخْيَارِ
Transliteration 48: Waothkur ismaAAeela wailyasaAAa watha alkifli wakullun mina alakhyari
Yusuf Ali 48: And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good.
Mohsin Khan: 48: And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Alyasa' (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best.
Urdu 48: اور اسماعیل اور الیسع اور ذوالکفل کو بھی یاد کر اور یہ سب نیک لوگو ں میں سے تھے


49  
هَـٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ
Transliteration 49: Hatha thikrun wainna lilmuttaqeena lahusna maabin
Yusuf Ali 49: This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,-
Mohsin Khan: 49: This is a Reminder. And verily, for the Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2) is a good final return (Paradise),
Urdu 49: یہ نصیحت ہے اور بے شک پرہیز گاروں کے لئے اچھا ٹھکانا ہے


50  
جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الْأَبْوَابُ
Transliteration 50: Jannati AAadnin mufattahatan lahumu alabwabu
Yusuf Ali 50: Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them;
Mohsin Khan: 50: 'Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be opened for them.
Urdu 50: ہمیشہ رہنے کے باغ ہیں ان کے لئے ان کے دروازے کھولے جائیں گے


51  
مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ
Transliteration 51: Muttakieena feeha yadAAoona feeha bifakihatin katheeratin washarabin
Yusuf Ali 51: Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink;
Mohsin Khan: 51: Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks;
Urdu 51: وہاں تکیہ لگا کر بیٹھیں گے وہاں بہت سے میوے اور شراب طلب کریں گے


52  
 ۞ وَعِندَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ
Transliteration 52: WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfi atrabun
Yusuf Ali 52: And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age.
Mohsin Khan: 52: And beside them will be Qasirat-at-Tarf [chaste females (wives) restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands)], (and) of equal ages.
Urdu 52: اور ان کے پاس نیچی نگاہ والی ہم عمر عورتیں ہوں گی


53  
هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
Transliteration 53: Hatha ma tooAAadoona liyawmi alhisabi
Yusuf Ali 53: Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account!
Mohsin Khan: 53: This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious - see V.2:2) are promised for the Day of Reckoning!
Urdu 53: یہی ہے جس کا تم سے حساب کے دن کے لیے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے


54  
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِن نَّفَادٍ
Transliteration 54: Inna hatha larizquna ma lahu min nafadin
Yusuf Ali 54: Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail;-
Mohsin Khan: 54: (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish.
Urdu 54: بے شک یہ ہمارا رزق ہے جو کبھی ختم نہیں ہوگا


55  
هَـٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ
Transliteration 55: Hatha wainna lilttagheena lasharra maabin
Yusuf Ali 55: Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!-
Mohsin Khan: 55: This is so! And for the Taghun (transgressors, the disobedient to Allah and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, criminals) will be an evil final return (Fire).
Urdu 55: یہی بات ہے اور بے شک سرکشوں کے لیے برا ٹھکانا ہے


56  
جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ
Transliteration 56: Jahannama yaslawnaha fabisa almihadu
Yusuf Ali 56: Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!-
Mohsin Khan: 56: Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest!
Urdu 56: یعنی دوزخ جس میں وہ گریں گے پس وہ کیسی بری جگہ ہے


57  
هَـٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ
Transliteration 57: Hatha falyathooqoohu hameemun waghassaqun
Yusuf Ali 57: Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!-
Mohsin Khan: 57: This is so! Then let them taste it - a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges.
Urdu 57: یہ ہے پھر وہ اس کو چکھیں جو کھولتا ہوا پانی اور پیپ ہے


58  
وَآخَرُ مِن شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ
Transliteration 58: Waakharu min shaklihi azwajun
Yusuf Ali 58: And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them!
Mohsin Khan: 58: And other (torments) of similar kind - all together!
Urdu 58: اور اس کی شکل اور بھی کئی طرح کی چیزیں ہوں گی


59  
هَـٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُّقْتَحِمٌ مَّعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُو النَّارِ
Transliteration 59: Hatha fawjun muqtahimun maAAakum la marhaban bihim innahum saloo alnnari
Yusuf Ali 59: Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire!
Mohsin Khan: 59: This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire!
Urdu 59: یہ ایک جماعت ہے جو تمہارے ساتھ دوزخ میں داخل ہونے والی ہے (متبوع کہیں گے) ان پر خدا کی مار یہ بھی دوزخ ہی میں آ رہے ہیں


60  
قَالُوا بَلْ أَنتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ
Transliteration 60: Qaloo bal antum la marhaban bikum antum qaddamtumoohu lana fabisa alqararu
Yusuf Ali 60: (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!"
Mohsin Khan: 60: (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!"
Urdu 60: (تابع ہونے والے) کہیں گے بلکہ تم پر خدا کی مار تم ہی تو اس بلا کو ہمارے سامنے لائے جو بہت ہی برا ٹھکانا ہے


61  
قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَـٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ
Transliteration 61: Qaloo rabbana man qaddama lana hatha fazidhu AAathaban diAAfan fee alnnari
Yusuf Ali 61: They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!"
Mohsin Khan: 61: They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!"
Urdu 61: تابع کہیں گے اے ہمارے رب! جو اس بلا کو آگے لایا اسے آگ میں دگنا عذاب دے


62  
وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُم مِّنَ الْأَشْرَارِ
Transliteration 62: Waqaloo ma lana la nara rijalan kunna naAAudduhum mina alashrari
Yusuf Ali 62: And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones?
Mohsin Khan: 62: And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?"
Urdu 62: اور کہیں گے کہ جن لوگوں کو ہم دنیا میں برا سمجھتے تھے ہمیں دکھائی کیوں نہیں دیتے


63  
أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْأَبْصَارُ
Transliteration 63: Attakhathnahum sikhriyyan am zaghat AAanhumu alabsaru
Yusuf Ali 63: "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"
Mohsin Khan: 63: Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"
Urdu 63: کیا ہم ان سے (ناحق) تمسخر کرتے تھے یا ان سے ہماری نگاہیں پھر گئی ہیں


64  
إِنَّ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ
Transliteration 64: Inna thalika lahaqqun takhasumu ahli alnnari
Yusuf Ali 64: Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire!
Mohsin Khan: 64: Verily, that is the very truth - the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire!
Urdu 64: بے شک یہ دوزخیوں کا آپس میں جھگڑنا بالکل سچی بات ہے


65  
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ
Transliteration 65: Qul innama ana munthirun wama min ilahin illa Allahu alwahidu alqahharu
Yusuf Ali 65: Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible,-
Mohsin Khan: 65: Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I am only a warner and there is no Ilah (God) except Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) the One, the Irresistible,
Urdu 65: کہہ دو میں تو ایک ڈرانے والا ہوں اور الله کے سوا کوئی اور معبود نہیں ہے ایک ہے بڑا غالب


66  
رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ
Transliteration 66: Rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alAAazeezu alghaffaru
Yusuf Ali 66: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- Exalted in Might, able to enforce His Will, forgiving again and again."
Mohsin Khan: 66: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving."
Urdu 66: آسمانوں اور زمین کا پرودگار اورجو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے غالب بڑا معاف کرنے والا ہے


67  
قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ
Transliteration 67: Qul huwa nabaon AAatheemun
Yusuf Ali 67: Say: "That is a Message Supreme (above all),-
Mohsin Khan: 67: Say: "That (this Qur'an) is a great news,
Urdu 67: کہہ دو یہ ایک بڑی خبر ہے


68  
أَنتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ
Transliteration 68: Antum AAanhu muAAridoona
Yusuf Ali 68: "From which ye do turn away!
Mohsin Khan: 68: "From which you turn away!
Urdu 68: تم اس سے منہ پھیرنے والے ہو


69  
مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ بِالْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَىٰ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
Transliteration 69: Ma kana liya min AAilmin bialmalai alaAAla ith yakhtasimoona
Yusuf Ali 69: "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves.
Mohsin Khan: 69: "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam).
Urdu 69: مجھے فرشتو ں کے متعلق کوئی علم نہیں تھا جب کہ وہ جھگڑ رہے تھے


70  
إِن يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ إِلَّا أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Transliteration 70: In yooha ilayya illa annama ana natheerun mubeenun
Yusuf Ali 70: 'Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly."
Mohsin Khan: 70: "Only this has been revealed to me, that I am a plain warner."
Urdu 70: مجھے تو یہی وحی کیا گیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں صاف صاف ڈراؤں


71  
إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِّن طِينٍ
Transliteration 71: Ith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min teenin
Yusuf Ali 71: Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay:
Mohsin Khan: 71: (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly I am going to create man from clay".
Urdu 71: جب تیرے رب نے فرشتوں سے کہا کہ میں ایک انسان مٹی سے بنانے والا ہوں


72  
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ
Transliteration 72: Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena
Yusuf Ali 72: "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him."
Mohsin Khan: 72: So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him."
Urdu 72: پھرجب میں اسے پورے طور پر بنا لوں اور اس میں اپنی رو ح پھونک دوں تو اس کے لیے سجدہ میں گر پڑنا


73  
فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
Transliteration 73: Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona
Yusuf Ali 73: So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:
Mohsin Khan: 73: So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them:
Urdu 73: پھر سب کے سب فرشتوں نے سجدہ کیا


74  
إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ
Transliteration 74: Illa ibleesa istakbara wakana mina alkafireena
Yusuf Ali 74: Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith.
Mohsin Khan: 74: Except Iblis (Satan): he was proud and was one of the disbelievers.
Urdu 74: مگر ابلیس نے نہ کیا تکبر کیا اور کافروں میں سے ہو گیا


75  
قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ
Transliteration 75: Qala ya ibleesu ma manaAAaka an tasjuda lima khalaqtu biyadayya astakbarta am kunta mina alAAaleena
Yusuf Ali 75: (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?"
Mohsin Khan: 75: (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands . Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?"
Urdu 75: فرمایا اے ابلیس! تمہیں اس کےے سجدہ کرنے سے کس نے منع کیا جسے میں نے اپنے ہاتھوں سے بنایا کیا تو نے تکبر کیا یا تو بڑوں میں سے تھا


76  
قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ
Transliteration 76: Qala ana khayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu min teenin
Yusuf Ali 76: (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay."
Mohsin Khan: 76: [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."
Urdu 76: اس نے عرض کی میں اس سے بہتر ہوں مجھے تو نے آگ سے بنایااور اسے مٹی سے بنایا


77  
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
Transliteration 77: Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun
Yusuf Ali 77: (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed.
Mohsin Khan: 77: (Allah) said: "Then get out from here; for verily you are outcast.
Urdu 77: فرمایا پھر تو یہاں سے نکل جاکیوں نکہ تو راندہ گیا ہے


78  
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
Transliteration 78: Wainna AAalayka laAAnatee ila yawmi alddeeni
Yusuf Ali 78: "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment."
Mohsin Khan: 78: "And verily My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense."
Urdu 78: اور تجھ پر قیامت تک میری لعنت ہے


79  
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
Transliteration 79: Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona
Yusuf Ali 79: (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."
Mohsin Khan: 79: [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected."
Urdu 79: عرض کی اے میرے رب! پھر مجھے مردوں کے زندہ ہونے تک مہلت دے


80  
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ
Transliteration 80: Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena
Yusuf Ali 80: (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee-
Mohsin Khan: 80: (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite."
Urdu 80: فرمایا پس تمہیں مہلت ہے


81  
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ
Transliteration 81: Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi
Yusuf Ali 81: "Till the Day of the Time Appointed."
Mohsin Khan: 81: "Till the Day of the time appointed."
Urdu 81: وقت معین کے دن تک


82  
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Transliteration 82: Qala fabiAAizzatika laoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena
Yusuf Ali 82: (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong,-
Mohsin Khan: 82: [Iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all,
Urdu 82: عرض کی تیری عز ت کی قسم! میں ان سب کو گمراہ کر دوں گا


83  
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
Transliteration 83: Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena
Yusuf Ali 83: "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)."
Mohsin Khan: 83: "Except Your chosen slaves amongst them (i.e. faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism)."
Urdu 83: مگر ان میں جو تیرے خالص بندے ہوں گے


84  
قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ
Transliteration 84: Qala faalhaqqu waalhaqqa aqoolu
Yusuf Ali 84: (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting-
Mohsin Khan: 84: (Allah) said: "The Truth is - and the Truth I say -
Urdu 84: فرمایا حق بات یہ ہے اور میں حق ہی کہا کرتا ہوں


85  
لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Transliteration 85: Laamlaanna jahannama minka wamimman tabiAAaka minhum ajmaAAeena
Yusuf Ali 85: "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee,- every one."
Mohsin Khan: 85: That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together."
Urdu 85: میں تجھ سے اوران میں سے جو تیرے تابع ہوں گے سب سے جہنم بھر دوں گا


86  
قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
Transliteration 86: Qul ma asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin wama ana mina almutakallifeena
Yusuf Ali 86: Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender.
Mohsin Khan: 86: Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "No wage do I ask of you for this (the Qur'an), nor am I one of the Mutakallifun (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist).
Urdu 86: کہہ دو میں اس پر تم سے کوئی مزدوری نہیں مانگتا اور نہ میں تکلف کرنے والوں میں ہوں


87  
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 87: In huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 87: "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds.
Mohsin Khan: 87: "It (this Qur'an) is only a Reminder for all the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn).
Urdu 87: یہ قرآن تو تمام جہان کے لیے نصیحت ہے


88  
وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍ
Transliteration 88: WalataAAlamunna nabaahu baAAda heenin
Yusuf Ali 88: "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while."
Mohsin Khan: 88: "And you shall certainly know the truth of it after a while".
Urdu 88: اور تم کچھ مدت کے بعد اس کا حال ضرور جان لوگے
