وَالطُّورِ
Transliteration 1: Waalttoori
Yusuf Ali 1: By the Mount (of Revelation);
Mohsin Khan: 1: By the Tur (Mount)
Saheeh: 1: By the mount
Urdu 1: قسم ہے طور کی


2  
وَكِتَابٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
Transliteration 2: Wakitabin mastoorin
Yusuf Ali 2: By a Decree inscribed
Mohsin Khan: 2: And by a Book Inscribed
Saheeh: 2: And [by] a Book inscribed
Urdu 2: اور اس کتاب کی جو لکھی گئی ہے


3  
فِي رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
Transliteration 3: Fee raqqin manshoorin
Yusuf Ali 3: In a Scroll unfolded;
Mohsin Khan: 3: In parchment unrolled.
Saheeh: 3: In parchment spread open
Urdu 3: کشادہ ورقوں میں


4  
وَالْبَيْتِ الْمَعْمُورِ
Transliteration 4: Waalbayti almaAAmoori
Yusuf Ali 4: By the much-frequented Fane;
Mohsin Khan: 4: And by Al-Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parallel to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels).
Saheeh: 4: And [by] the frequented House
Urdu 4: اور آباد گھر کی قسم ہے


5  
وَالسَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوعِ
Transliteration 5: Waalssaqfi almarfooAAi
Yusuf Ali 5: By the Canopy Raised High;
Mohsin Khan: 5: And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven).
Saheeh: 5: And [by] the heaven raised high
Urdu 5: اور اونچی چھت کی


6  
وَالْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُورِ
Transliteration 6: Waalbahri almasjoori
Yusuf Ali 6: And by the Ocean filled with Swell;-
Mohsin Khan: 6: And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection).
Saheeh: 6: And [by] the sea filled [with fire],
Urdu 6: اور جوش مارتے ہوئے سمندر کی


7  
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌ
Transliteration 7: Inna AAathaba rabbika lawaqiAAun
Yusuf Ali 7: Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;-
Mohsin Khan: 7: Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass.
Saheeh: 7: Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.
Urdu 7: بے شک آپ کے رب کا عذاب واقع ہوکر رہے گا


8  
مَّا لَهُ مِن دَافِعٍ
Transliteration 8: Ma lahu min dafiAAin
Yusuf Ali 8: There is none can avert it;-
Mohsin Khan: 8: There is none that can avert it.
Saheeh: 8: Of it there is no preventer.
Urdu 8: اسے کوئی ٹالنے والا نہیں ہے


9  
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ السَّمَاءُ مَوْرًا
Transliteration 9: Yawma tamooru alssamao mawran
Yusuf Ali 9: On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion.
Mohsin Khan: 9: On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking,
Saheeh: 9: On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion
Urdu 9: جس دن آسمان تھرتھرا کر لرزنے لگے گا


10  
وَتَسِيرُ الْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
Transliteration 10: Wataseeru aljibalu sayran
Yusuf Ali 10: And the mountains will fly hither and thither.
Mohsin Khan: 10: And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement.
Saheeh: 10: And the mountains will pass on, departing -
Urdu 10: اور پہاڑ تیزی سے چلنے لگیں گے


11  
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Transliteration 11: Fawaylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
Yusuf Ali 11: Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;-
Mohsin Khan: 11: Then woe that Day to the beliers.
Saheeh: 11: Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,
Urdu 11: پس اس دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لیے ہلاکت ہے


12  
الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
Transliteration 12: Allatheena hum fee khawdin yalAAaboona
Yusuf Ali 12: That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles.
Mohsin Khan: 12: Who are playing in falsehood .
Saheeh: 12: Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.
Urdu 12: جو جھوٹی باتوں میں لگے ہوئے کھیل رہے ہیں


13  
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
Transliteration 13: Yawma yudaAAAAoona ila nari jahannama daAAAAan
Yusuf Ali 13: That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly.
Mohsin Khan: 13: The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing.
Saheeh: 13: The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],
Urdu 13: جس دن وہ دوزخ کی آگ کی طرف بری طرح سے دھکیلے جائیں گے


14  
هَـٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
Transliteration 14: Hathihi alnnaru allatee kuntum biha tukaththiboona
Yusuf Ali 14: "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny!
Mohsin Khan: 14: This is the Fire which you used to belie.
Saheeh: 14: "This is the Fire which you used to deny.
Urdu 14: یہی وہ آگ ہے جسے تم دنیا میں جھٹلاتے تھے


15  
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَا أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
Transliteration 15: Afasihrun hatha am antum la tubsiroona
Yusuf Ali 15: "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see?
Mohsin Khan: 15: Is this magic, or do you not see?
Saheeh: 15: Then is this magic, or do you not see?
Urdu 15: پس کیایہ جادو ہے یا تم دیکھتے نہیں


16  
اصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوا أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 16: Islawha faisbiroo aw la tasbiroo sawaon AAalaykum innama tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 16: "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds."
Mohsin Khan: 16: Taste you therein its heat and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do.
Saheeh: 16: [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."
Urdu 16: اس میں داخل ہو جاؤ پس تم صبر کرو یا نہ کرو تم پر برابر ہے تمہیں تو ویسا ہی بدلہ دیا جائے گا جیسا تم کرتے تھے


17  
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
Transliteration 17: Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin wanaAAeemin
Yusuf Ali 17: As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,-
Mohsin Khan: 17: Verily, the Muttaqun (the pious. See V.2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight.
Saheeh: 17: Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,
Urdu 17: بے شک پرہیز گار باغوں اور نعمتوں میں ہوں گے


18  
فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
Transliteration 18: Fakiheena bima atahum rabbuhum wawaqahum rabbuhum AAathaba aljaheemi
Yusuf Ali 18: Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire.
Mohsin Khan: 18: Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire.
Saheeh: 18: Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.
Urdu 18: محظوظ ہو رہے ہوں گے اس سے جو انہیں ان کے رب نے عطا کی ہے اور ان کو ان کے رب نے عذاب دوزخ سے بچا دیا ہے


19  
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 19: Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima kuntum taAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 19: (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds."
Mohsin Khan: 19: "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do."
Saheeh: 19: [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."
Urdu 19: مزے سے کھاؤ اور پیو بدلے ان (اعمال) کے جو تم کیا کرتے تھے


20  
مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
Transliteration 20: Muttakieena AAala sururin masfoofatin wazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeenin
Yusuf Ali 20: They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes.
Mohsin Khan: 20: They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Hur: (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes.
Saheeh: 20: They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.
Urdu 20: تختوں پر تکیہ لگائے ہوئے جو قطاروں میں بچھے ہوئے ہیں اور ہم ان کا نکاح بڑی بڑی آنکھوں والی حوروں سے کر دیں گے


21  
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
Transliteration 21: Waallatheena amanoo waittabaAAathum thurriyyatuhum bieemanin alhaqna bihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum min AAamalihim min shayin kullu imriin bima kasaba raheenun
Yusuf Ali 21: And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds.
Mohsin Khan: 21: And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith: to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.
Saheeh: 21: And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.
Urdu 21: اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور ان کی اولاد نے ایمان میں ان کی پیروی کی ہم ان کے ساتھ ان کی اولاد کو بھی (جنت) میں ملا دیں گے اور ان کے عمل میں سے کچھ بھی کم نہ کریں گے ہر شخص اپنے عمل کے ساتھ وابستہ ہے


22  
وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُم بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
Transliteration 22: Waamdadnahum bifakihatin walahmin mimma yashtahoona
Yusuf Ali 22: And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire.
Mohsin Khan: 22: And We shall provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire.
Saheeh: 22: And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.
Urdu 22: اور ہم انہیں اور زیادہ میوے دیں گے اور گوشت جو وہ چاہیں گے


23  
يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
Transliteration 23: YatanazaAAoona feeha kasan la laghwun feeha wala tatheemun
Yusuf Ali 23: They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill.
Mohsin Khan: 23: There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be lawful for them to drink).
Saheeh: 23: They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.
Urdu 23: وہاں ایک دوسرے سے شراب کا پیالہ لیں گے جس میں نہ بکواس ہو گی نہ گناہ کا کام


24  
 ۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
Transliteration 24: Wayatoofu AAalayhim ghilmanun lahum kaannahum luluon maknoonun
Yusuf Ali 24: Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded.
Mohsin Khan: 24: And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls.
Saheeh: 24: There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.
Urdu 24: اور ان کے پاس لڑکے ان کی خدمت کے لیے پھر رہے ہوں گے گویا وہ غلافوں میں رکھے ہوئے موتی ہیں


25  
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
Transliteration 25: Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatasaaloona
Yusuf Ali 25: They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry.
Mohsin Khan: 25: And some of them draw near to others, questioning.
Saheeh: 25: And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
Urdu 25: اورایک دوسرے کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر آپس میں پوچھیں گے


26  
قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
Transliteration 26: Qaloo inna kunna qablu fee ahlina mushfiqeena
Yusuf Ali 26: They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people.
Mohsin Khan: 26: Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid (of the punishment of Allah) in the midst of our families.
Saheeh: 26: They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah].
Urdu 26: کہیں گے ہم تو اس سے پہلے اپنے گھروں میں ڈرا کرتے تھے


27  
فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ
Transliteration 27: Famanna Allahu AAalayna wawaqana AAathaba alssamoomi
Yusuf Ali 27: "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind.
Mohsin Khan: 27: "So Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire.
Saheeh: 27: So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.
Urdu 27: پس الله نے ہم پر احسان کیا اور ہمیں لُو کے عذاب سے بچا لیا


28  
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ
Transliteration 28: Inna kunna min qablu nadAAoohu innahu huwa albarru alrraheemu
Yusuf Ali 28: "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!"
Mohsin Khan: 28: "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful."
Saheeh: 28: Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."
Urdu 28: بے شک ہم اس سے پہلے اسے پکارا کرتے تھے بے شک وہ بڑا ہی احسان کرنے والا نہایت رحم والا ہے


29  
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
Transliteration 29: Fathakkir fama anta biniAAmati rabbika bikahin wala majnoonin
Yusuf Ali 29: Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed.
Mohsin Khan: 29: Therefore, remind (mankind of Islamic Monotheism, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). By the Grace of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor a madman.
Saheeh: 29: So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.
Urdu 29: پس نصیحت کرتے رہئے آپ اپنے رب کے فضل سے نہ کاہن ہیں نہ دیوانہ ہیں


30  
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِ رَيْبَ الْمَنُونِ
Transliteration 30: Am yaqooloona shaAAirun natarabbasu bihi rayba almanooni
Yusuf Ali 30: Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!"
Mohsin Khan: 30: Or do they say: "(Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is a poet! We await for him some calamity by time!"
Saheeh: 30: Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"
Urdu 30: کیا وہ کہتے ہیں کہ وہ شاعر ہے ہم اس پر گردشِ زمانہ کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں


31  
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا فَإِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
Transliteration 31: Qul tarabbasoo fainnee maAAakum mina almutarabbiseena
Yusuf Ali 31: Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!"
Mohsin Khan: 31: Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to them): "Wait! I am with you among the waiters!"
Saheeh: 31: Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."
Urdu 31: کہہ دو تم انتظار کرتے رہو بے شک میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ منتظر ہوں


32  
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُم بِهَـٰذَا ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
Transliteration 32: Am tamuruhum ahlamuhum bihatha am hum qawmun taghoona
Yusuf Ali 32: Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds?
Mohsin Khan: 32: Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)] or are they people transgressing all bounds?
Saheeh: 32: Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?
Urdu 32: کیا ان کی عقلیں انہیں اس بات کا حکم دیتی ہیں یا وہ خود ہی سرکش ہیں


33  
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Transliteration 33: Am yaqooloona taqawwalahu bal la yuminoona
Yusuf Ali 33: Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith!
Mohsin Khan: 33: Or do they say: "He (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has forged it (this Qur'an)?" Nay! They believe not!
Saheeh: 33: Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.
Urdu 33: یا وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس نے اسے خود بنا لیا ہے بلکہ وہ ایمان ہی نہیں لاتے


34  
فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِ إِن كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ
Transliteration 34: Falyatoo bihadeethin mithlihi in kanoo sadiqeena
Yusuf Ali 34: Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth!
Mohsin Khan: 34: Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Qur'an) if they are truthful.
Saheeh: 34: Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
Urdu 34: پس کوئی کلام اس جیسا لے آئيں اگر وہ سچے ہیں


35  
أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ
Transliteration 35: Am khuliqoo min ghayri shayin am humu alkhaliqoona
Yusuf Ali 35: Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators?
Mohsin Khan: 35: Were they created by nothing? Or were they themselves the creators?
Saheeh: 35: Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
Urdu 35: کیا وہ بغیر کسی خالق کے پیدا ہو گئے ہیں یا وہ خود خالق ہیں


36  
أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
Transliteration 36: Am khalaqoo alssamawati waalarda bal la yooqinoona
Yusuf Ali 36: Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief.
Mohsin Khan: 36: Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief.
Saheeh: 36: Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.
Urdu 36: یا انہوں نے آسمانوں اور زمین کوبنایا ہے نہیں بلکہ وہ یقین ہی نہیں کرتے


37  
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَيْطِرُونَ
Transliteration 37: Am AAindahum khazainu rabbika am humu almusaytiroona
Yusuf Ali 37: Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)?
Mohsin Khan: 37: Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like?
Saheeh: 37: Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?
Urdu 37: کیا ان کے پاس آپ کے رب کے خزانے ہیں یا وہ داروغہ ہیں


38  
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
Transliteration 38: Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehi falyati mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeenin
Yusuf Ali 38: Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof.
Mohsin Khan: 38: Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof.
Saheeh: 38: Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority.
Urdu 38: کیا ان کے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے کہ وہ اس پر چڑھ کر سن آتے ہیں تو لے آئے ان میں سے سننے والا کوئی دلیل واضح


39  
أَمْ لَهُ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَكُمُ الْبَنُونَ
Transliteration 39: Am lahu albanatu walakumu albanoona
Yusuf Ali 39: Or has He only daughters and ye have sons?
Mohsin Khan: 39: Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons?
Saheeh: 39: Or has He daughters while you have sons?
Urdu 39: کیا اس کے لیے توبیٹیاں ہیں اور تمہارے لیے بیٹے


40  
أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
Transliteration 40: Am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona
Yusuf Ali 40: Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?-
Mohsin Khan: 40: Or is it that you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt?
Saheeh: 40: Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
Urdu 40: کیا آپ ان سے کوئی صلہ مانگتے ہیں کہ وہ تاوان سے دبے جا رہے ہیں


41  
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
Transliteration 41: Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona
Yusuf Ali 41: Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down?
Mohsin Khan: 41: Or that the Ghaib (Unseen) is with them, and they write it down?
Saheeh: 41: Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
Urdu 41: یا ان کے پاس علم غیب ہے کہ وہ اسے لکھتے رہتے ہیں


42  
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هُمُ الْمَكِيدُونَ
Transliteration 42: Am yureedoona kaydan faallatheena kafaroo humu almakeedoona
Yusuf Ali 42: Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot!
Mohsin Khan: 42: Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) are themselves plotted against!
Saheeh: 42: Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.
Urdu 42: کیا وہ کوئی داؤ کرنا چاہتے ہیں پس جو منکر ہیں وہی داؤ میں آئے ہوئے ہیں


43  
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Transliteration 43: Am lahum ilahun ghayru Allahi subhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoona
Yusuf Ali 43: Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him!
Mohsin Khan: 43: Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him)
Saheeh: 43: Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
Urdu 43: کیا سوائے الله کے ان کا کوئی اور معبود ہے الله اس سےپاک ہے جو وہ شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں


44  
وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
Transliteration 44: Wain yaraw kisfan mina alssamai saqitan yaqooloo sahabun markoomun
Yusuf Ali 44: Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"
Mohsin Khan: 44: And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"
Saheeh: 44: And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
Urdu 44: اگر وہ ایک ٹکڑا آسمان سے گرتا ہوا دیکھ لیں تو کہہ دیں کہ تہ بہ تہ جما ہوا بادل ہے


45  
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
Transliteration 45: Fatharhum hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee feehi yusAAaqoona
Yusuf Ali 45: So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),-
Mohsin Khan: 45: So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror).
Saheeh: 45: So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -
Urdu 45: پس آپ انہیں چھوڑ دیجیئے یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنا وہ دن دیکھ لیں جس میں وہ بے ہوش ہو کر گر پڑیں گے


46  
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
Transliteration 46: Yawma la yughnee AAanhum kayduhum shayan wala hum yunsaroona
Yusuf Ali 46: The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them.
Mohsin Khan: 46: The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell).
Saheeh: 46: The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
Urdu 46: جس دن ان کا داؤ ان کے کچھ بھی کام نہ آئے گا اور نہ انہیں مدد دی جائے گی


47  
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 47: Wainna lillatheena thalamoo AAathaban doona thalika walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 47: And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not.
Mohsin Khan: 47: And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this; but most of them know not. (Tafsir At-Tabari).
Saheeh: 47: And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.
Urdu 47: اوربے شک ان ظالموں کو علاوہ اس کے ایک عذاب (دنیا میں) ہوگا لیکن اکثر ان میں سے نہیں جانتے


48  
وَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
Transliteration 48: Waisbir lihukmi rabbika fainnaka biaAAyunina wasabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoomu
Yusuf Ali 48: Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth,
Mohsin Khan: 48: So wait patiently (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes ; and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep.
Saheeh: 48: And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise.
Urdu 48: اور اپنے رب کا حکم آنے تک صبر کر کیوں کہ بےشک آپ ہماری آنکھوں کے سامنے ہیں اور اپنے رب کی حمد کے ساتھ تسبیح کیجیئے جب آپ اٹھا کریں


49  
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَارَ النُّجُومِ
Transliteration 49: Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waidbara alnnujoomi
Yusuf Ali 49: And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars!
Mohsin Khan: 49: And in the nighttime also glorify His Praises - and at the setting of the stars.
Saheeh: 49: And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.
Urdu 49: اور (کچھ حصہ رات میں بھی) اس کی تسبیح کیا کیجیئے اور ستاروں کے غروب ہونے کے بعد بھی
