1  
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ
Transliteration 1: Itha waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
Yusuf Ali 1: When the Event inevitable cometh to pass,
Mohsin Khan: 1: When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls.
Saheeh: 1: When the Occurrence occurs,
Urdu 1: جب واقع ہونے والی واقع ہو گی


2  
لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
Transliteration 2: Laysa liwaqAAatiha kathibatun
Yusuf Ali 2: Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming.
Mohsin Khan: 2: And there can be no denial of its befalling.
Saheeh: 2: There is, at its occurrence, no denial.
Urdu 2: جس کے واقع ہونے میں کچھ بھی جھوٹ نہیں


3  
خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ
Transliteration 3: Khafidatun rafiAAatun
Yusuf Ali 3: (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt;
Mohsin Khan: 3: Bringing low (some - those who will enter Hell) Exalting (others - those who will enter Paradise). [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]
Saheeh: 3: It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].
Urdu 3: پست کرنے والی اور بلند کرنے والی


4  
إِذَا رُجَّتِ الْأَرْضُ رَجًّا
Transliteration 4: Itha rujjati alardu rajjan
Yusuf Ali 4: When the earth shall be shaken to its depths,
Mohsin Khan: 4: When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake.
Saheeh: 4: When the earth is shaken with convulsion
Urdu 4: جب کہ زمین بڑے زور سے ہلائی جائے گی


5  
وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا
Transliteration 5: Wabussati aljibalu bassan
Yusuf Ali 5: And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms,
Mohsin Khan: 5: And the mountains will be powdered to dust,
Saheeh: 5: And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
Urdu 5: اور پہاڑ ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہو کر چورا ہو جائیں گے


6  
فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُّنبَثًّا
Transliteration 6: Fakanat habaan munbaththan
Yusuf Ali 6: Becoming dust scattered abroad,
Mohsin Khan: 6: So that they will become floating dust particles.
Saheeh: 6: And become dust dispersing.
Urdu 6: سو و ہ غبار ہو کر اڑتے پھریں گے


7  
وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلَاثَةً
Transliteration 7: Wakuntum azwajan thalathatan
Yusuf Ali 7: And ye shall be sorted out into three classes.
Mohsin Khan: 7: And you (all) will be in three groups.
Saheeh: 7: And you become [of] three kinds:
Urdu 7: اور (اس وقت) تمہاری تین جماعتیں ہو جائیں گی


8  
فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
Transliteration 8: Faashabu almaymanati ma ashabu almaymanati
Yusuf Ali 8: Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
Mohsin Khan: 8: So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands) - how (fortunate) will be those on the Right Hand! (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise).
Saheeh: 8: Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
Urdu 8: پھر داہنے والے کیا خوب ہی ہیں داہنے والے


9  
وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
Transliteration 9: Waashabu almashamati ma ashabu almashamati
Yusuf Ali 9: And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
Mohsin Khan: 9: And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands) - how (unfortunate) will be those on the Left Hand! (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell).
Saheeh: 9: And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
Urdu 9: اوربائیں والے کیسے برے ہیں بائیں والے


10  
وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ
Transliteration 10: Waalssabiqoona alssabiqoona
Yusuf Ali 10: And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).
Mohsin Khan: 10: And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam] will be foremost (in Paradise).
Saheeh: 10: And the forerunners, the forerunners -
Urdu 10: اور سب سے اول ایمان لانے والے سب سے اول داخل ہونے والے ہیں


11  
أُولَـٰئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
Transliteration 11: Olaika almuqarraboona
Yusuf Ali 11: These will be those Nearest to Allah:
Mohsin Khan: 11: These will be the nearest (to Allah).
Saheeh: 11: Those are the ones brought near [to Allah]
Urdu 11: وہ الله کے ساتھ خاص قرب رکھنے والے ہیں


12  
فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ
Transliteration 12: Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
Yusuf Ali 12: In Gardens of Bliss:
Mohsin Khan: 12: In the Gardens of Delight (Paradise).
Saheeh: 12: In the Gardens of Pleasure,
Urdu 12: نعمت کے باغات ہوں گے


13  
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
Transliteration 13: Thullatun mina alawwaleena
Yusuf Ali 13: A number of people from those of old,
Mohsin Khan: 13: A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam).
Saheeh: 13: A [large] company of the former peoples
Urdu 13: پہلوں میں سے بہت سے


14  
وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ
Transliteration 14: Waqaleelun mina alakhireena
Yusuf Ali 14: And a few from those of later times.
Mohsin Khan: 14: And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later generations.
Saheeh: 14: And a few of the later peoples,
Urdu 14: اور پچھلوں میں سے تھوڑے سے


15  
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ
Transliteration 15: AAala sururin mawdoonatin
Yusuf Ali 15: (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones),
Mohsin Khan: 15: (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones.
Saheeh: 15: On thrones woven [with ornament],
Urdu 15: تختوں پر جو جڑاؤ ہوں گے


16  
مُّتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ
Transliteration 16: Muttakieena AAalayha mutaqabileena
Yusuf Ali 16: Reclining on them, facing each other.
Mohsin Khan: 16: Reclining thereon, face to face.
Saheeh: 16: Reclining on them, facing each other.
Urdu 16: آمنے سامنے تکیہ لگائے ہوئےبیٹھے ہوں گے


17  
يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
Transliteration 17: Yatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona
Yusuf Ali 17: Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness),
Mohsin Khan: 17: Immortal boys will go around them (serving),
Saheeh: 17: There will circulate among them young boys made eternal
Urdu 17: ان کے پاس ایسے لڑکے جو ہمیشہ لڑکے ہی رہیں گے آمد و رفت کیا کریں گے


18  
بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ
Transliteration 18: Biakwabin waabareeqa wakasin min maAAeenin
Yusuf Ali 18: With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains:
Mohsin Khan: 18: With cups, and jugs, and a glass of flowing wine,
Saheeh: 18: With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -
Urdu 18: آبخورے اور آفتابے اور ایسا جام شراب لے کر جو بہتی ہوئی شراب سے بھرا جائے گا


19  
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
Transliteration 19: La yusaddaAAoona AAanha wala yunzifoona
Yusuf Ali 19: No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication:
Mohsin Khan: 19: Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.
Saheeh: 19: No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -
Urdu 19: نہ اس سے ان کو دردِ سر ہوگا اور نہ اس سے عقل میں فتور آئے گا


20  
وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
Transliteration 20: Wafakihatin mimma yatakhayyaroona
Yusuf Ali 20: And with fruits, any that they may select:
Mohsin Khan: 20: And with fruit that they may choose.
Saheeh: 20: And fruit of what they select
Urdu 20: اور میوے جنہیں وہ پسند کریں گے


21  
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
Transliteration 21: Walahmi tayrin mimma yashtahoona
Yusuf Ali 21: And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire.
Mohsin Khan: 21: And with the flesh of fowls that they desire.
Saheeh: 21: And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.
Urdu 21: اور پرندوں کا گوشت جو ان کو مرغوب ہو گا


22  
وَحُورٌ عِينٌ
Transliteration 22: Wahoorun AAeenun
Yusuf Ali 22: And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,-
Mohsin Khan: 22: And (there will be) Hur (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for "Al-Muttaqun" - the pious - See V. 2:2),
Saheeh: 22: And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,
Urdu 22: اوربڑی بڑی آنکھوں والی حوریں


23  
كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ
Transliteration 23: Kaamthali allului almaknooni
Yusuf Ali 23: Like unto Pearls well-guarded.
Mohsin Khan: 23: Like unto preserved pearls.
Saheeh: 23: The likenesses of pearls well-protected,
Urdu 23: جیسے موتی کئی تہو ں میں رکھےہوئے ہوں


24  
جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 24: Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 24: A Reward for the deeds of their past (life).
Mohsin Khan: 24: A reward for what they used to do.
Saheeh: 24: As reward for what they used to do.
Urdu 24: بدلے اس کے جو وہ کیا کرتے تھے


25  
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا
Transliteration 25: La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala tatheeman
Yusuf Ali 25: Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,-
Mohsin Khan: 25: No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting).
Saheeh: 25: They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -
Urdu 25: وہ وہاں کوئی لغو اور گناہ کی بات نہیں سنیں گے


26  
إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَامًا سَلَامًا
Transliteration 26: Illa qeelan salaman salaman
Yusuf Ali 26: Only the saying, "Peace! Peace".
Mohsin Khan: 26: But only the saying of: Salam! Salam! (greetings with peace)!
Saheeh: 26: Only a saying: "Peace, peace."
Urdu 26: مگر سلام سلام کہنا


27  
وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ
Transliteration 27: Waashabu alyameeni ma ashabu alyameeni
Yusuf Ali 27: The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand?
Mohsin Khan: 27: And those on the Right Hand - how (fortunate) will be those on the Right Hand?
Saheeh: 27: The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
Urdu 27: اور داہنے والے کیسے اچھے ہوں گے داہنے والے


28  
فِي سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ
Transliteration 28: Fee sidrin makhdoodin
Yusuf Ali 28: (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns,
Mohsin Khan: 28: (They will be) among thornless lote-trees,
Saheeh: 28: [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed
Urdu 28: وہ بے کانٹوں کی بیریوں میں ہوں گے


29  
وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ
Transliteration 29: Watalhin mandoodin
Yusuf Ali 29: Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,-
Mohsin Khan: 29: And among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another,
Saheeh: 29: And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]
Urdu 29: اور گتھے ہوئے کیلو ں میں


30  
وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ
Transliteration 30: Wathillin mamdoodin
Yusuf Ali 30: In shade long-extended,
Mohsin Khan: 30: And in shade long-extended,
Saheeh: 30: And shade extended
Urdu 30: اورلمبے سایوں میں


31  
وَمَاءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ
Transliteration 31: Wamain maskoobin
Yusuf Ali 31: By water flowing constantly,
Mohsin Khan: 31: And by water flowing constantly,
Saheeh: 31: And water poured out
Urdu 31: اور پانی کی آبشاروں میں


32  
وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ
Transliteration 32: Wafakihatin katheeratin
Yusuf Ali 32: And fruit in abundance.
Mohsin Khan: 32: And fruit in plenty,
Saheeh: 32: And fruit, abundant [and varied],
Urdu 32: اور باافراط میوں میں


33  
لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ
Transliteration 33: La maqtooAAatin wala mamnooAAatin
Yusuf Ali 33: Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden,
Mohsin Khan: 33: Whose supply is not cut off (by change of season), nor are they out of reach,
Saheeh: 33: Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,
Urdu 33: جونہ کبھی منقطع ہوں گے اور نہ ان میں روک ٹوک ہو گی


34  
وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ
Transliteration 34: Wafurushin marfooAAatin
Yusuf Ali 34: And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high.
Mohsin Khan: 34: And on couches or thrones, raised high.
Saheeh: 34: And [upon] beds raised high.
Urdu 34: اور اونچے فرشتوں میں


35  
إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاءً
Transliteration 35: Inna anshanahunna inshaan
Yusuf Ali 35: We have created (their Companions) of special creation.
Mohsin Khan: 35: Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation.
Saheeh: 35: Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation
Urdu 35: بے شک ہم نے انہیں (حوروں کو) ایک عجیب انداز سے پیدا کیا ہے


36  
فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
Transliteration 36: FajaAAalnahunna abkaran
Yusuf Ali 36: And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), -
Mohsin Khan: 36: And made them virgins.
Saheeh: 36: And made them virgins,
Urdu 36: پس ہم نے انہیں کنواریاں بنا دیا ہے


37  
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا
Transliteration 37: AAuruban atraban
Yusuf Ali 37: Beloved (by nature), equal in age,-
Mohsin Khan: 37: Loving (their husbands only), (and) of equal age.
Saheeh: 37: Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,
Urdu 37: دل لبھانے والی ہم عمر بنایا ہے


38  
لِّأَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
Transliteration 38: Liashabi alyameeni
Yusuf Ali 38: For the Companions of the Right Hand.
Mohsin Khan: 38: For those on the Right Hand.
Saheeh: 38: For the companions of the right [who are]
Urdu 38: داہنے والوں کے لیے


39  
ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ
Transliteration 39: Thullatun mina alawwaleena
Yusuf Ali 39: A (goodly) number from those of old,
Mohsin Khan: 39: A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam).
Saheeh: 39: A company of the former peoples
Urdu 39: بہت سے پہلوں میں سے ہوں گے


40  
وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ الْآخِرِينَ
Transliteration 40: Wathullatun mina alakhireena
Yusuf Ali 40: And a (goodly) number from those of later times.
Mohsin Khan: 40: And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later generations.
Saheeh: 40: And a company of the later peoples.
Urdu 40: اور بہت سے پچھلوں میں سے


41  
وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ
Transliteration 41: Waashabu alshshimali ma ashabu alshshimali
Yusuf Ali 41: The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand?
Mohsin Khan: 41: And those on the Left Hand - how (unfortunate) will be those on the Left Hand?
Saheeh: 41: And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
Urdu 41: اوربائیں والے کیسے برے ہیں بائیں والے


42  
فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ
Transliteration 42: Fee samoomin wahameemin
Yusuf Ali 42: (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water,
Mohsin Khan: 42: In fierce hot wind and boiling water,
Saheeh: 42: [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water
Urdu 42: وہ لووں اور کھولتے ہوئے پانی میں ہوں گے


43  
وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ
Transliteration 43: Wathillin min yahmoomin
Yusuf Ali 43: And in the shades of Black Smoke:
Mohsin Khan: 43: And shadow of black smoke,
Saheeh: 43: And a shade of black smoke,
Urdu 43: اور سیاہ دھوئیں کے سائے میں


44  
لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
Transliteration 44: La baridin wala kareemin
Yusuf Ali 44: Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please:
Mohsin Khan: 44: (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) pleasant,
Saheeh: 44: Neither cool nor beneficial.
Urdu 44: جو نہ ٹھنڈا ہوگا اور نہ راحت بخش


45  
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
Transliteration 45: Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena
Yusuf Ali 45: For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury),
Mohsin Khan: 45: Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,
Saheeh: 45: Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,
Urdu 45: بے شک وہ اس سے پہلے خوش حال تھے


46  
وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنثِ الْعَظِيمِ
Transliteration 46: Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi
Yusuf Ali 46: And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme!
Mohsin Khan: 46: And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murder and other crimes)
Saheeh: 46: And they used to persist in the great violation,
Urdu 46: اور بڑے گناہ (شرک) پر اصرار کیا کرتے تھے


47  
وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Transliteration 47: Wakanoo yaqooloona aitha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman ainna lamabAAoothoona
Yusuf Ali 47: And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?-
Mohsin Khan: 47: And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected?
Saheeh: 47: And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
Urdu 47: اور کہا کرتے تھے کیا جب ہم مر جائیں گے اور مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہو جائیں گے تو کیا ہم پھر اٹھاے جائیں گے


48  
أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ
Transliteration 48: Awa abaona alawwaloona
Yusuf Ali 48: "(We) and our fathers of old?"
Mohsin Khan: 48: "And also our forefathers?"
Saheeh: 48: And our forefathers [as well]?"
Urdu 48: اور کیا ہمارے اگلے باپ دادا بھی


49  
قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
Transliteration 49: Qul inna alawwaleena waalakhireena
Yusuf Ali 49: Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times,
Mohsin Khan: 49: Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times.
Saheeh: 49: Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples
Urdu 49: کہہ دو بے شک پہلے بھی اور پچھلے بھی


50  
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
Transliteration 50: LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin
Yusuf Ali 50: "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known.
Mohsin Khan: 50: "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day.
Saheeh: 50: Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."
Urdu 50: ایک معین تاریخ کے وقت پر جمع کیے جاویں گے


51  
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ
Transliteration 51: Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona
Yusuf Ali 51: "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!-
Mohsin Khan: 51: "Then moreover, verily you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)!
Saheeh: 51: Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,
Urdu 51: پھر بے شک تمہیں اے گمراہو جھٹلانے والو


52  
لَآكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ
Transliteration 52: Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin
Yusuf Ali 52: "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum.
Mohsin Khan: 52: "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum.
Saheeh: 52: Will be eating from trees of zaqqum
Urdu 52: البتہ تھوہر کا درخت کھانا ہوگا


53  
فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ
Transliteration 53: Famalioona minha albutoona
Yusuf Ali 53: "Then will ye fill your insides therewith,
Mohsin Khan: 53: "Then you will fill your bellies therewith,
Saheeh: 53: And filling with it your bellies
Urdu 53: پھر اس سے پیٹ بھرنے ہوں گے


54  
فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ
Transliteration 54: Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi
Yusuf Ali 54: "And drink Boiling Water on top of it:
Mohsin Khan: 54: "And drink boiling water on top of it.
Saheeh: 54: And drinking on top of it from scalding water

55  
فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ
Transliteration 55: Fashariboona shurba alheemi
Yusuf Ali 55: "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!"
Mohsin Khan: 55: "And you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!"
Saheeh: 55: And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.
Urdu 55: پھر پینا ہو گا پیاسے اونٹوں کا سا پینا


56  
هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
Transliteration 56: Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni
Yusuf Ali 56: Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital!
Mohsin Khan: 56: That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense!
Saheeh: 56: That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.
Urdu 56: قیامت کے دن یہ ان کی مہمانی ہو گی


57  
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
Transliteration 57: Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona
Yusuf Ali 57: It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth?
Mohsin Khan: 57: We created you: then why do you believe not?
Saheeh: 57: We have created you, so why do you not believe?
Urdu 57: ہم نے ہی تمہیں پیدا کیا ہے پس کیوں تم تصدیق نہیں کرتے


58  
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
Transliteration 58: Afaraaytum ma tumnoona
Yusuf Ali 58: Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,-
Mohsin Khan: 58: Then tell Me (about) the (human) semen that you emit.
Saheeh: 58: Have you seen that which you emit?
Urdu 58: بھلا دیکھو (تو) (منی) جو تم ٹپکاتے ہو


59  
أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ
Transliteration 59: Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona
Yusuf Ali 59: Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators?
Mohsin Khan: 59: Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator?
Saheeh: 59: Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?
Urdu 59: کیا تم اسے پیدا کرتے ہو یا ہم ہی پیدا کرنے والے ہیں


60  
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
Transliteration 60: Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena
Yusuf Ali 60: We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated
Mohsin Khan: 60: We have decreed death to you all, and We are not outstripped,
Saheeh: 60: We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
Urdu 60: ہم نے ہی تمہارے درمیان موت مقرر کر دی ہے اور ہم عاجز نہیں ہیں


61  
عَلَىٰ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 61: AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshiakum fee ma la taAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 61: from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not.
Mohsin Khan: 61: To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not.
Saheeh: 61: In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.
Urdu 61: اس بات سے کہ ہم تم جیسے لوگ بدل لائیں اور تمہیں ایسی صورت میں بنا کھڑا کریں جو تم نہیں جانتے


62  
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Transliteration 62: Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnashata aloola falawla tathakkaroona
Yusuf Ali 62: And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?
Mohsin Khan: 62: And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam): why then do you not remember (or take heed)?
Saheeh: 62: And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?
Urdu 62: اور تم پہلی پیدائش کو جان چکے ہو پھر کیوں تم غور نہیں کرتے


63  
أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
Transliteration 63: Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona
Yusuf Ali 63: See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground?
Mohsin Khan: 63: Then tell Me about the seed that you sow in the ground.
Saheeh: 63: And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?
Urdu 63: بھلا دیکھو جو کچھ تم بولتے ہو


64  
أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ
Transliteration 64: Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona
Yusuf Ali 64: Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?
Mohsin Khan: 64: Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower?
Saheeh: 64: Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?
Urdu 64: کیا تم اسے اگاتے ہو یا ہم اگانے والے ہیں


65  
لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
Transliteration 65: Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona
Yusuf Ali 65: Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,
Mohsin Khan: 65: Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment) [Tafsir Ibn Kathir].
Saheeh: 65: If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,
Urdu 65: اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے چورا چورا کر دیں پھر تم تعجب کرتے رہ جاؤ


66  
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
Transliteration 66: Inna lamughramoona
Yusuf Ali 66: (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):
Mohsin Khan: 66: (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or have lost the money without any profit, or are punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation)! (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)
Saheeh: 66: [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;
Urdu 66: کہ بے شک ہم پر تو تاوان پڑ گیا


67  
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
Transliteration 67: Bal nahnu mahroomoona
Yusuf Ali 67: "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"
Mohsin Khan: 67: "Nay, but we are deprived!"
Saheeh: 67: Rather, we have been deprived."
Urdu 67: بلکہ ہم بے نصیب ہو گئے


68  
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ
Transliteration 68: Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona
Yusuf Ali 68: See ye the water which ye drink?
Mohsin Khan: 68: Then tell Me about the water that you drink.
Saheeh: 68: And have you seen the water that you drink?
Urdu 68: بھلا دیکھو تو سہی وہ پانی جو تم پیتے ہو


69  
أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنزِلُونَ
Transliteration 69: Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona
Yusuf Ali 69: Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?
Mohsin Khan: 69: Is it you who cause it from the rain-clouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down?
Saheeh: 69: Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?
Urdu 69: کیا تم نے اسے بادل سے اتارا ہے یا ہم اتارنے والے ہیں


70  
لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
Transliteration 70: Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona
Yusuf Ali 70: Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?
Mohsin Khan: 70: If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable): why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)?
Saheeh: 70: If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?
Urdu 70: اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے کھاری کر دیں پس کیوں تم شکر نہیں کرتے


71  
أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ
Transliteration 71: Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona
Yusuf Ali 71: See ye the Fire which ye kindle?
Mohsin Khan: 71: Then tell Me about the fire which you kindle.
Saheeh: 71: And have you seen the fire that you ignite?
Urdu 71: بھلا دیکھو تو سہی وہ آگ جو تم سلگاتے ہو


72  
أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِئُونَ
Transliteration 72: Aantum anshatum shajarataha am nahnu almunshioona
Yusuf Ali 72: Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?
Mohsin Khan: 72: Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?
Saheeh: 72: Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?
Urdu 72: کیا تم نے اس کا درخت پیدا کیا ہے یا ہم پیدا کرنے والے ہیں


73  
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
Transliteration 73: Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena
Yusuf Ali 73: We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts.
Mohsin Khan: 73: We have made it a Reminder (of the Hell-fire in the Hereafter), and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world).
Saheeh: 73: We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,
Urdu 73: ہم نے اسے یادگار اور مسافروں کے لیے فائدہ کی چیز بنا دیا ہے


74  
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
Transliteration 74: Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
Yusuf Ali 74: Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme!
Mohsin Khan: 74: Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Saheeh: 74: So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Urdu 74: پس اپنے رب کے نام کی تسبیح کر جو بڑا عظمت والا ہے


75  
 ۞ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
Transliteration 75: Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi
Yusuf Ali 75: Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,-
Mohsin Khan: 75: So I swear by the setting of the stars.
Saheeh: 75: Then I swear by the setting of the stars,
Urdu 75: پھر میں تاروں کے ڈوبنے کی قسم کھاتا ہوں


76  
وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
Transliteration 76: Wainnahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun
Yusuf Ali 76: And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,-
Mohsin Khan: 76: And verily that is indeed a great oath, if you but know.
Saheeh: 76: And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.
Urdu 76: اور بے شک اگر سمجھو تو یہ بڑی قسم ہے


77  
إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ
Transliteration 77: Innahu laquranun kareemun
Yusuf Ali 77: That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable,
Mohsin Khan: 77: That (this) is indeed an honourable recitation (the Noble Qur'an).
Saheeh: 77: Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an
Urdu 77: کہ بے شک یہ قرآن بڑی شان والا ہے


78  
فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ
Transliteration 78: Fee kitabin maknoonin
Yusuf Ali 78: In Book well-guarded,
Mohsin Khan: 78: In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz ).
Saheeh: 78: In a Register well-protected;
Urdu 78: ایک پوشیدہ کتاب میں لکھا ہوا ہے


79  
لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
Transliteration 79: La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona
Yusuf Ali 79: Which none shall touch but those who are clean:
Mohsin Khan: 79: Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels).
Saheeh: 79: None touch it except the purified.
Urdu 79: جسے بغیر پاکو ں کے اور کوئی نہیں چھوتا


80  
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 80: Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 80: A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
Mohsin Khan: 80: A Revelation (this Qur'an) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists).
Saheeh: 80: [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
Urdu 80: پروردگار عالم کی طرف سے نازل ہوا ہے


81  
أَفَبِهَـٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
Transliteration 81: Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona
Yusuf Ali 81: Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem?
Mohsin Khan: 81: Is it such a talk (this Qur'an) that you (disbelievers) deny?
Saheeh: 81: Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
Urdu 81: سو کیا تم اس کلام کو سرسری بات سمجھتے ہو


82  
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
Transliteration 82: WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona
Yusuf Ali 82: And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false?
Mohsin Khan: 82: And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, you deny (Him by disbelief)!
Saheeh: 82: And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?
Urdu 82: اور اپنا حصہ تم یہی لیتے ہو کہ اسے جھٹلاتے ہو


83  
فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ
Transliteration 83: Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma
Yusuf Ali 83: Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,-
Mohsin Khan: 83: Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat?
Saheeh: 83: Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
Urdu 83: پھر کس لیے روح کو روک نہیں لیتے جب کہ وہ گلے تک آ جاتی ہے


84  
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ
Transliteration 84: Waantum heenaithin tanthuroona
Yusuf Ali 84: And ye the while (sit) looking on,-
Mohsin Khan: 84: And you at the moment are looking on,
Saheeh: 84: And you are at that time looking on -
Urdu 84: اورتم اس وقت دیکھا کرتے ہو


85  
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
Transliteration 85: Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona
Yusuf Ali 85: But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,-
Mohsin Khan: 85: But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, (Tafsir At-Tabari)
Saheeh: 85: And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -
Urdu 85: اور تم سے زیادہ ہم اس کے قرب ہوتے ہیں لیکن تم نہیں دیکھتے


86  
فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
Transliteration 86: Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena
Yusuf Ali 86: Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,-
Mohsin Khan: 86: Then why do you not - if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment) -
Saheeh: 86: Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,
Urdu 86: پس اگر تمہارا حساب کتاب ہونے والا نہیں ہے


87  
تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Transliteration 87: TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena
Yusuf Ali 87: Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)?
Mohsin Khan: 87: Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful?
Saheeh: 87: Bring it back, if you should be truthful?
Urdu 87: تو تم اس روح کو کیوں نہیں لوٹا دیتے اگر تم سچے ہو


88  
فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
Transliteration 88: Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena
Yusuf Ali 88: Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah,
Mohsin Khan: 88: Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah),
Saheeh: 88: And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah,
Urdu 88: پھر (جب قیامت آئے گی) اگر وہ مقربین میں سے ہے


89  
فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ
Transliteration 89: Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin
Yusuf Ali 89: (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.
Mohsin Khan: 89: (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of Delights (Paradise).
Saheeh: 89: Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.
Urdu 89: تو (اس کے لیے) راحت اور خوشبو میں اور عیش کی باغ ہیں


90  
وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
Transliteration 90: Waamma in kana min ashabi alyameeni
Yusuf Ali 90: And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand,
Mohsin Khan: 90: And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand,
Saheeh: 90: And if he was of the companions of the right,
Urdu 90: اور اگر وہ داہنے والوں میں سے ہے


91  
فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
Transliteration 91: Fasalamun laka min ashabi alyameeni
Yusuf Ali 91: (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand.
Mohsin Khan: 91: Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for those on the right Hand.
Saheeh: 91: Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."
Urdu 91: تو اے شخص تو جو داہنے والوں میں سے ہے تجھ پر سلام ہو


92  
وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ
Transliteration 92: Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena
Yusuf Ali 92: And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong,
Mohsin Khan: 92: But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism),
Saheeh: 92: But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,
Urdu 92: اور اگر وہ جھٹلانے والے گمراہوں میں سے ہے


93  
فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
Transliteration 93: Fanuzulun min hameemin
Yusuf Ali 93: For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water.
Mohsin Khan: 93: Then for him is an entertainment with boiling water.
Saheeh: 93: Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water
Urdu 93: تو کھولتا ہوا پانی مہمانی ہے


94  
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
Transliteration 94: Watasliyatu jaheemin
Yusuf Ali 94: And burning in Hell-Fire.
Mohsin Khan: 94: And burning in Hell-fire.
Saheeh: 94: And burning in Hellfire
Urdu 94: اور دوزخ میں داخل ہونا ہے


95  
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ
Transliteration 95: Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni
Yusuf Ali 95: Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly.
Mohsin Khan: 95: Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty.
Saheeh: 95: Indeed, this is the true certainty,
Urdu 95: بے شک یہ تحقیقی یقینی بات ہے


96  
فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
Transliteration 96: Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
Yusuf Ali 96: So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme.
Mohsin Khan: 96: So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Saheeh: 96: So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Urdu 96: پس اپنے رب کی نام تسبیح کر جو بڑا عظمت والا ہے
