1 | إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ |

| | Transliteration 1: | Inna anzalnahu fee laylati alqadri |

| | Yusuf Ali 1: | We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power: |

| | Shakir 1: | Surely We revealed it on the grand night. |

| | Pickthal 1: | Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination. |

| | Mohsin Khan: 1: | Verily, We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree). |

2 | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ |
| |
| | Transliteration 2: | Wama adraka ma laylatu alqadri |
| |
| | Yusuf Ali 2: | And what will explain to thee what the night of power is? |

| | Shakir 2: | And what will make you comprehend what the grand night |
| |
| | Pickthal 2: | Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is! |

| | Mohsin Khan: 2: | And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? |

3 | لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ |

| | Transliteration 3: | Laylatu alqadri khayrun min alfi shahrin |
| |
| | Yusuf Ali 3: | The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. |
| |
| | Shakir 3: | The grand night is better than a thousand months. |
| |
| | Pickthal 3: | The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. |
| |
| | Mohsin Khan: 3: | The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, i.e. 83 years and 4 months). |

4 | تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ |
| |
| | Transliteration 4: | Tanazzalu almalaikatu waalrroohu feeha biithni rabbihim min kulli amrin |
| |
| | Yusuf Ali 4: | Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand: |

| | Shakir 4: | The angels and Jibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, |
| |
| | Pickthal 4: | The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees. |
| |
| | Mohsin Khan: 4: | Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibril (Gabril)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees, |

| | French 4: | Durant celle-ci descendent les Anges ainsi que l'Esprit, par permission de leur Seigneur pour tout ordre. |

| | Spanish 4: | Los ángeles y el Espíritu descienden en ella, con permiso de su Señor, para fijarlo todo. |

5 | سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ |

| | Transliteration 5: | Salamun hiya hatta matlaAAi alfajri |
| |
| | Yusuf Ali 5: | Peace!... This until the rise of morn! |
| |
| | Shakir 5: | Peace! it is till the break of the morning. |
| |
| | Pickthal 5: | (The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn. |
| |
| | Mohsin Khan: 5: | (All that night), there is Peace (and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn. |

| | French 5: | Elle est paix et salut jusqu'à l'apparition de l'aube. |
