Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
74. ۞ وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ آزَرَ أَتَتَّخِذُ أَصْنَامًا آلِهَةً ۖ إِنِّي أَرَاكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
Transliteration:Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi azara atattakhithu asnaman alihatan innee araka waqawmaka fee dalalin mubeenin
Yusuf Ali:Lo! Abraham said to his father Azar: "Takest thou idols for gods? For I see thee and thy people in manifest error."
Shakir:And when Ibrahim said to his sire, Azar: Do you take idols for gods? Surely I see you and your people in manifest error.
Pickthall:(Remember) when Abraham said unto his father Azar: Takest thou idols for gods? Lo! I see thee and thy folk in error manifest.
Mohsin Khan:And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father Azar: "Do you take idols as alihah (gods)? Verily, I see you and your people in manifest error. "
Saheeh:And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols as deities? Indeed, I see you and your people to be in manifest error."
Urdu:اور یاد کر جب ابراہیم نے اپنے باپ آزر سے کہا کیا بتوں کو خدا جانتاہے میں تجھے اور تیرے قوم کو صریح گمراہی میں دیکھتا ہوں

75.وَكَذَ‌ٰلِكَ نُرِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَلَكُوتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوقِنِينَ
Transliteration:Wakathalika nuree ibraheema malakoota alssamawati waalardi waliyakoona mina almooqineena
Yusuf Ali:So also did We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth, that he might (with understanding) have certitude.
Shakir:And thus did We show Ibrahim the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and that he might be of those who are sure.
Pickthall:Thus did We show Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and the earth that he might be of those possessing certainty:
Mohsin Khan:Thus did we show Ibrahim (Abraham) the kingdom of the heavens and the earth that he be one of those who have Faith with certainty.
Saheeh:And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth that he would be among the certain [in faith]
Urdu:اور ہم نے اسی طرح ابراھیم کو آسمانوں اور زمین کے عجائبات دکھائے ابور تاکہ وہ یقین کرنے والوں میں سے ہو جائے

76.فَلَمَّا جَنَّ عَلَيْهِ اللَّيْلُ رَأَىٰ كَوْكَبًا ۖ قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَبِّي ۖ فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَا أُحِبُّ الْآفِلِينَ
Transliteration:Falamma janna AAalayhi allaylu raa kawkaban qala hatha rabbee falamma afala qala la ohibbu alafileena
Yusuf Ali:When the night covered him over, He saw a star: He said: "This is my Lord." But when it set, He said: "I love not those that set."
Shakir:So when the night over-shadowed him, he saw a star; said he: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said: I do not love the setting ones.
Pickthall:When the night grew dark upon him he beheld a star. He said: This is my Lord. But when it set, he said: I love not things that set.
Mohsin Khan:When the night covered him over with darkness he saw a star. He said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "I like not those that set."
Saheeh:So when the night covered him [with darkness], he saw a star. He said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "I like not those that disappear."
Urdu:پھر جب رات نے اس ہر اندھیرا کیا اس نے ایک ستارہ دیکھا کہا یہ میرا رب ہے پھر جب وہ غائب ہو گیا تو کہا میں غائب ہونے والوں کو پسند نہیں کرتا

77.فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْقَمَرَ بَازِغًا قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَبِّي ۖ فَلَمَّا أَفَلَ قَالَ لَئِن لَّمْ يَهْدِنِي رَبِّي لَأَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الضَّالِّينَ
Transliteration:Falamma raa alqamara bazighan qala hatha rabbee falamma afala qala lain lam yahdinee rabbee laakoonanna mina alqawmi alddalleena
Yusuf Ali:When he saw the moon rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord." But when the moon set, He said: "unless my Lord guide me, I shall surely be among those who go astray."
Shakir:Then when he saw the moon rising, he said: Is this my Lord? So when it set, he said: If my Lord had not guided me I should certainly be of the erring people.
Pickthall:And when he saw the moon uprising, he exclaimed: This is my Lord. But when it set, he said: Unless my Lord guide me, I surely shall become one of the folk who are astray.
Mohsin Khan:When he saw the moon rising up, he said: "This is my lord." But when it set, he said: "Unless my Lord guides me, I shall surely be among the people who went astray."
Saheeh:And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."
Urdu:پھر جب چاند کو چمکتا ہوا دیکھا کہا یہ میرا رب ہے پھر جب وہ غائب ہو گیا تو کہا اگر مجھے میرا رب ہدایت نہ کرے گا تو میں ضرور گمراہوں میں سے ہوجاؤں گا

78.فَلَمَّا رَأَى الشَّمْسَ بَازِغَةً قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَبِّي هَـٰذَا أَكْبَرُ ۖ فَلَمَّا أَفَلَتْ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ
Transliteration:Falamma raa alshshamsa bazighatan qala hatha rabbee hatha akbaru falamma afalat qala ya qawmi innee bareeon mimma tushrikoona
Yusuf Ali:When he saw the sun rising in splendour, he said: "This is my Lord; this is the greatest (of all)." But when the sun set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.
Shakir:Then when he saw the sun rising, he said: Is this my Lord? Is this the greatest? So when it set, he said: O my people! surely I am clear of what you set up (with Allah).
Pickthall:And when he saw the sun uprising, he cried: This is my Lord! This is greater! And when it set he exclaimed: O my people! Lo! I am free from all that ye associate (with Him).
Mohsin Khan:When he saw the sun rising up, he said: "This is my lord. This is greater." But when it set, he said: "O my people! I am indeed free from all that you join as partners (in worship with Allah).
Saheeh:And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah.
Urdu:پھر جب آفتاب کو چمکتاہوا دیکھا کہا یہی میرا رب ہے یہ سب سے بڑا ہے پھر جب وہ غائب ہو گیا کہا اے میری قوم میں ان سے بیزار ہوں جنہیں تم الله کا شریک بناتے ہو

79.إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Transliteration:Innee wajjahtu wajhiya lillathee fatara alssamawati waalarda haneefan wama ana mina almushrikeena
Yusuf Ali:"For me, I have set my face, firmly and truly, towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and never shall I give partners to Allah."
Shakir:Surely I have turned myself, being upright, wholly to Him Who originated the heavens and the earth, and I am not of the polytheists.
Pickthall:Lo! I have turned my face toward Him Who created the heavens and the earth, as one by nature upright, and I am not of the idolaters.
Mohsin Khan:Verily, I have turned my face towards Him Who has created the heavens and the earth Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism, i.e. worshipping none but Allah Alone), and I am not of Al-Mushrikun (See V.2:105)".
Saheeh:Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah."
Urdu:سب سے یک سو ہو کر میں نے اپنے منہ کو اسی کی طرف متوجہ کیا جس نے آسمان اور زمین بنائی اور میں شرک کرنے والوں میں سے نہیں ہوں

80.وَحَاجَّهُ قَوْمُهُ ۚ قَالَ أَتُحَاجُّونِّي فِي اللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانِ ۚ وَلَا أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ رَبِّي شَيْئًا ۗ وَسِعَ رَبِّي كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا ۗ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Transliteration:Wahajjahu qawmuhu qala atuhajjoonnee fee Allahi waqad hadani wala akhafu ma tushrikoona bihi illa an yashaa rabbee shayan wasiAAa rabbee kulla shayin AAilman afala tatathakkaroona
Yusuf Ali:His people disputed with him. He said: "(Come) ye to dispute with me, about Allah, when He (Himself) hath guided me? I fear not (the beings) ye associate with Allah: Unless my Lord willeth, (nothing can happen). My Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not (yourselves) be admonished?
Shakir:And his people disputed with him. He said: Do you dispute with me respecting Allah? And He has guided me indeed; and I do not fear in any way those that you set up with Him, unless my Lord pleases; my Lord comprehends all things in His knowledge; will you not then mind?
Pickthall:His people argued with him. He said: Dispute ye with me concerning Allah when He hath guided me? I fear not at all that which ye set up beside Him unless my Lord willeth aught. My Lord includeth all things in His knowledge. Will ye not then remember?
Mohsin Khan:His people disputed with him. He said: "Do you dispute with me concerning Allah while He has guided me, and I fear not those whom you associate with Him (Allah) in worship. (Nothing can happen to me) except when my Lord (Allah) wills something. My Lord comprehends in His Knowledge all things. Will you not then remember?
Saheeh:And his people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember?
Urdu:اور اس کی قوم نے اس سے جھگڑا کیا اس نے کہا کیا تم مجھ سے الله کے ایک ہونے میں جھگڑتے ہو اور اس نے میری رہنمائی کی ہے اور جنہیں تم شریک کرتے ہو میں ان سے نہیں ڈرتا مگر یہ کہ میرا رب مجھے کوئی تکلیف پہنچانا چاہے میرے رب نے علم کے لحاظ سے سب چیزوں پر احاطہ کیا ہوا ہے کیا تم سوچتے نہیں

81.وَكَيْفَ أَخَافُ مَا أَشْرَكْتُمْ وَلَا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمْ أَشْرَكْتُم بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَانًا ۚ فَأَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالْأَمْنِ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration:Wakayfa akhafu ma ashraktum wala takhafoona annakum ashraktum biAllahi ma lam yunazzil bihi AAalaykum sultanan faayyu alfareeqayni ahaqqu bialamni in kuntum taAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali:"How should I fear (the beings) ye associate with Allah, when ye fear not to give partners to Allah without any warrant having been given to you? Which of (us) two parties hath more right to security? (tell me) if ye know.
Shakir:And how should I fear what you have set up (with Him), while you do not fear that you have set up with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority; which then of the two parties is surer of security, if you know?
Pickthall:How should I fear that which ye set up beside Him, when ye fear not to set up beside Allah that for which He hath revealed unto you no warrant? Which of the two factions hath more right to safety? (Answer me that) if ye have knowledge.
Mohsin Khan:"And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allah (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allah things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know."
Saheeh:And how should I fear what you associate while you do not fear that you have associated with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority? So which of the two parties has more right to security, if you should know?
Urdu:اور تمہارے شریکوں سے کیوں ڈروں حالانکہ تم اس بات سے نہیں ڑرتے کہ الله کا شریک ٹھیراتے ہو اس چیز کو جس کی الله نے تم پر کوئی دلیل نہیں اتاری اگر تم کو کچھ سمجھ ہے تو (بتاؤ) دونوں جماعتوں میں سے امن کا زیادہ مستحق کون ہے

82.الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يَلْبِسُوا إِيمَانَهُم بِظُلْمٍ أُولَـٰئِكَ لَهُمُ الْأَمْنُ وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ
Transliteration:Allatheena amanoo walam yalbisoo eemanahum bithulmin olaika lahumu alamnu wahum muhtadoona
Yusuf Ali:"It is those who believe and confuse not their beliefs with wrong - that are (truly) in security, for they are on (right) guidance."
Shakir:Those who believe and do not mix up their faith with iniquity, those are they who shall have the security and they are those who go aright.
Pickthall:Those who believe and obscure not their belief by wrongdoing, theirs is safety; and they are rightly guided.
Mohsin Khan:It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided.
Saheeh:They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice - those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided.
Urdu:جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے اپنے ایمان میں شرک نہیں ملایا امن انہیں کے لیے ہے اور وہی راہ راست پر ہیں

83.وَتِلْكَ حُجَّتُنَا آتَيْنَاهَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ ۚ نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَاتٍ مَّن نَّشَاءُ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
Transliteration:Watilka hujjatuna ataynaha ibraheema AAala qawmihi narfaAAu darajatin man nashao inna rabbaka hakeemun AAaleemun
Yusuf Ali:That was the reasoning about Us, which We gave to Abraham (to use) against his people: We raise whom We will, degree after degree: for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge.
Shakir:And this was Our argument which we gave to Ibrahim against his people; We exalt in dignity whom We please; surely your Lord is Wise, Knowing.
Pickthall:That is Our argument. We gave it unto Abraham against his folk. We raise unto degrees of wisdom whom We will. Lo! thy Lord is Wise, Aware.
Mohsin Khan:And that was Our Proof which We gave Ibrahim (Abraham) against his people. We raise whom We will in degrees. Certainly your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
Saheeh:And that was Our [conclusive] argument which We gave Abraham against his people. We raise by degrees whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.
Urdu:اور یہ ہماری دلیل ہے کہ ہم نے ابراہیم کو اس کی قوم کے مقابلہ میں دی تھی ہم جس کے چاہیں درجے بلند کرتے ہیں بے شک تیرا رب حکمت والا جاننے والا ہے
