123  
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
Transliteration 123: Kaththabat AAadun almursaleena
Yusuf Ali 123: The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers.
Shakir 123: Ad gave the lie to the apostles.
Pickthal 123: (The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah).
Mohsin Khan: 123: 'Ad (people) belied the Messengers.
Saheeh: 123: 'Aad denied the messengers
Urdu 123: قوم عاد نے پیغمبروں کو جھٹلایا


124  
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Transliteration 124: Ith qala lahum akhoohum hoodun ala tattaqoona
Yusuf Ali 124: Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
Shakir 124: When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)?
Pickthal 124: When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?
Mohsin Khan: 124: When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?
Saheeh: 124: When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah?
Urdu 124: جب ان سے ان کے بھائی ہود نے کہا کہ تم کیوں نہیں ڈرتے


125  
إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
Transliteration 125: Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Yusuf Ali 125: "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust:
Shakir 125: Surely I am a faithful apostle to you;
Pickthal 125: Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you,
Mohsin Khan: 125: "Verily I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.
Saheeh: 125: Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
Urdu 125: البتہ میں تمہارے لیے امانت دار رسول ہوں


126  
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Transliteration 126: Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
Yusuf Ali 126: "So fear Allah and obey me.
Shakir 126: Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me:
Pickthal 126: So keep your duty to Allah and obey me.
Mohsin Khan: 126: "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
Saheeh: 126: So fear Allah and obey me.
Urdu 126: پس الله سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو


127  
وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 127: Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 127: "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.
Shakir 127: And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds
Pickthal 127: And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds.
Mohsin Khan: 127: "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism); my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).
Saheeh: 127: And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
Urdu 127: اور میں تم سے ا سپر کوئی مزدوری نہیں مانگتا میری مزدوری تو بس رب العالمین کے ذمہ ہے


128  
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ
Transliteration 128: Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatan taAAbathoona
Yusuf Ali 128: "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves?
Shakir 128: Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do:
Pickthal 128: Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight?
Mohsin Khan: 128: "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them?
Saheeh: 128: Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,
Urdu 128: کیا تم ہر اونچی زمین پر کھیلنے کے لیے ایک نشان بناتے ہو


129  
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
Transliteration 129: Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona
Yusuf Ali 129: "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)?
Shakir 129: And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you may
Pickthal 129: And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever?
Mohsin Khan: 129: "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever.
Saheeh: 129: And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?
Urdu 129: اوربڑے بڑے محل بناتے ہو شاید کہ تم ہمیشہ رہو گے


130  
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
Transliteration 130: Waitha batashtum batashtum jabbareena
Yusuf Ali 130: "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power?
Shakir 130: And when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants;
Pickthal 130: And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants?
Mohsin Khan: 130: "And when you seize (somebody), seize you (him) as tyrants?
Saheeh: 130: And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.
Urdu 130: اورجب ہاتھ ڈالتے ہو تو بڑی سختی سےپکڑتے ہو


131  
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Transliteration 131: Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
Yusuf Ali 131: "Now fear Allah, and obey me.
Shakir 131: So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me
Pickthal 131: Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me.
Mohsin Khan: 131: "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
Saheeh: 131: So fear Allah and obey me.
Urdu 131: پس الله سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو


132  
وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Transliteration 132: Waittaqoo allathee amaddakum bima taAAlamoona
Yusuf Ali 132: "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know.
Shakir 132: And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know.
Pickthal 132: Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know,
Mohsin Khan: 132: "And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know.
Saheeh: 132: And fear He who provided you with that which you know,
Urdu 132: اور اس سے ڈرو جس نے تمہاری ان چیزوں سے مدد کی ہے جنہیں تم بھی جانتے ہو


133  
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ
Transliteration 133: Amaddakum bianAAamin wabaneena
Yusuf Ali 133: "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,-
Shakir 133: He has given you abundance of cattle and children
Pickthal 133: Hath aided you with cattle and sons.
Mohsin Khan: 133: "He has aided you with cattle and children.
Saheeh: 133: Provided you with grazing livestock and children
Urdu 133: چارپایوں اور اولاد سے


134  
وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
Transliteration 134: Wajannatin waAAuyoonin
Yusuf Ali 134: "And Gardens and Springs.
Shakir 134: And gardens and fountains;
Pickthal 134: And gardens and watersprings.
Mohsin Khan: 134: "And gardens and springs.
Saheeh: 134: And gardens and springs.
Urdu 134: اور باغوں اور چشموں سے تمہیں مدد دی


135  
إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Transliteration 135: Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
Yusuf Ali 135: "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day."
Shakir 135: Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day
Pickthal 135: Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an awful day.
Mohsin Khan: 135: "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day."
Saheeh: 135: Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."
Urdu 135: میں تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں


136  
قَالُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ
Transliteration 136: Qaloo sawaon AAalayna awaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheena
Yusuf Ali 136: They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers!
Shakir 136: They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers
Pickthal 136: They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach;
Mohsin Khan: 136: They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach.
Saheeh: 136: They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.
Urdu 136: کہنے لگے تو نصیحت کر یا نہ کر ہمارے لیے سب برابر ہے


137  
إِنْ هَـٰذَا إِلَّا خُلُقُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
Transliteration 137: In hatha illa khuluqu alawwaleena
Yusuf Ali 137: "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients,
Shakir 137: This is naught but a custom of the ancients;
Pickthal 137: This is but a fable of the men of old,
Mohsin Khan: 137: "This is no other than the false tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabari]
Saheeh: 137: This is not but the custom of the former peoples,
Urdu 137: یہ تو بس پہلے لوگوں کی ایک عادت ہے


138  
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
Transliteration 138: Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena
Yusuf Ali 138: "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!"
Shakir 138: And we are not going to be punished.
Pickthal 138: And we shall not be doomed.
Mohsin Khan: 138: "And we are not going to be punished."
Saheeh: 138: And we are not to be punished."
Urdu 138: اور ہمیں عذاب نہیں ہوگا


139  
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَ‌ٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
Transliteration 139: Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahum inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Yusuf Ali 139: So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe.
Shakir 139: So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe.
Pickthal 139: And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
Mohsin Khan: 139: So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
Saheeh: 139: And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
Urdu 139: پھر انہو ں نے پیغمبر کو جھٹلایا تب ہم نے انہیں ہلاک کر دیا البتہ اس میں بڑی نشانی ہے اور ان میں اکثر ایمان لانے والے نہیں


140  
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
Transliteration 140: Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
Yusuf Ali 140: And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.
Shakir 140: And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful.
Pickthal 140: And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
Mohsin Khan: 140: And verily your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.
Saheeh: 140: And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Urdu 140: اور بے شک تیرا رب زبردست رحم کرنے والا ہے
