| 17. | فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Fasubhana Allahi heena tumsoona waheena tusbihoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | So (give) glory to Allah, when ye reach eventide and when ye rise in the morning; |
| Shakir: | Therefore glory be to Allah when you enter upon the time of the evening and when you enter upon the time of the morning. |
| Pickthall: | So glory be to Allah when ye enter the night and when ye enter the morning - |
| Mohsin Khan: | So glorify Allah [above all that (evil) they associate with Him (O believers)] when you come up to the evening [i.e. offer the (Maghrib ) sunset and ('Isha') night prayers], and when you enter the morning [i.e. offer the (Fajr) morning prayer]. |
| Saheeh: | So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning. |
| Urdu: | پھر الله کی تسبیح کرو جب تم شام کرو اور جب تم صبح کرو |

| 18. | وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Walahu alhamdu fee alssamawati waalardi waAAashiyyan waheena tuthhiroona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Yea, to Him be praise, in the heavens and on earth; and in the late afternoon and when the day begins to decline. |
| Shakir: | And to Him belongs praise in the heavens and the earth, and at nightfall and when you are at midday. |
| Pickthall: | Unto Him be praise in the heavens and the earth! - and at the sun's decline and in the noonday. |
| Mohsin Khan: | And His are all the praises and thanks in the heavens and the earth; and (glorify Him) in the afternoon (i.e. offer 'Asr prayer) and when you come up to the time, when the day begins to decline (i.e. offer Zuhr prayer). (Ibn 'Abbas said: "These are the five compulsory congregational prayers mentioned in the Qur'an)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] |
| Saheeh: | And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon. |
| Urdu: | اور آسمانوں اور زمین میں اسی کی تعریف ہے اور پچھلے پہر بھی اور جب دوپہر ہو |
