83  
 ۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِ لَإِبْرَاهِيمَ
Transliteration 83: Wainna min sheeAAatihi laibraheema
Yusuf Ali 83: Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham.
Shakir 83: And most surely Ibrahim followed his way.
Pickthal 83: And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham
Mohsin Khan: 83: And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham).
Saheeh: 83: And indeed, among his kind was Abraham,
Urdu 83: اور بے شک اسی کے طریق پر چلنے والوں میں ابراھیم بھی تھا


84  
إِذْ جَاءَ رَبَّهُ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
Transliteration 84: Ith jaa rabbahu biqalbin saleemin
Yusuf Ali 84: Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart.
Shakir 84: When he came to his Lord with a free heart,
Pickthal 84: When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart;
Mohsin Khan: 84: When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone - true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism].
Saheeh: 84: When he came to his Lord with a sound heart
Urdu 84: جب کہ وہ پاک دل سے اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع ہوا


85  
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
Transliteration 85: Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi matha taAAbudoona
Yusuf Ali 85: Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship?
Shakir 85: When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship?
Pickthal 85: When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship?
Mohsin Khan: 85: When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship?
Saheeh: 85: [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?
Urdu 85: جب کہ ا س نے اپنے باپ اور اپنی قوم سے کہا تم کس چیز کی عبادت کرتے ہو


86  
أَئِفْكًا آلِهَةً دُونَ اللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
Transliteration 86: Aifkan alihatan doona Allahi tureedoona
Yusuf Ali 86: "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire?
Shakir 86: A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire?
Pickthal 86: Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire?
Mohsin Khan: 86: "Is it a falsehood - alihah (gods) other than Allah - that you desire?
Saheeh: 86: Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire?
Urdu 86: کیا تم جھوٹے معبودوں کو الله کے سوا چاہتے ہو


87  
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Transliteration 87: Fama thannukum birabbi alAAalameena
Yusuf Ali 87: "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?"
Shakir 87: What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds?
Pickthal 87: What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds?
Mohsin Khan: 87: "Then what think you about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists)?"
Saheeh: 87: Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?"
Urdu 87: پھر تمہارا پروردگارِ عالم کی نسبت کیا خیال ہے


88  
فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي النُّجُومِ
Transliteration 88: Fanathara nathratan fee alnnujoomi
Yusuf Ali 88: Then did he cast a glance at the Stars.
Shakir 88: Then he looked at the stars, looking up once,
Pickthal 88: And he glanced a glance at the stars
Mohsin Khan: 88: Then he cast a glance at the stars,
Saheeh: 88: And he cast a look at the stars
Urdu 88: پھر اس نے ایک بار ستاروں میں غور سے دیکھا


89  
فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ
Transliteration 89: Faqala innee saqeemun
Yusuf Ali 89: And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!"
Shakir 89: Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these).
Pickthal 89: Then said: Lo! I feel sick!
Mohsin Khan: 89: And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague). [He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan feast)]."
Saheeh: 89: And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill."
Urdu 89: پھر کہا بے شک میں بیمار ہوں


90  
فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
Transliteration 90: Fatawallaw AAanhu mudbireena
Yusuf Ali 90: So they turned away from him, and departed.
Shakir 90: So they went away from him, turning back.
Pickthal 90: And they turned their backs and went away from him.
Mohsin Khan: 90: So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease).
Saheeh: 90: So they turned away from him, departing.
Urdu 90: پس وہ لوگ اس کے ہاں سے پیٹھ پھیر کر واپس پھرے


91  
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰ آلِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Transliteration 91: Faragha ila alihatihim faqala ala takuloona
Yusuf Ali 91: Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?...
Shakir 91: Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat?
Pickthal 91: Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat?
Mohsin Khan: 91: Then he turned to their alihah (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)?
Saheeh: 91: Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat?
Urdu 91: پس وہ چپکے سے ان کے معبودوں کے پاس گیا پھر کہا کیاتم کھاتے نہیں


92  
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
Transliteration 92: Ma lakum la tantiqoona
Yusuf Ali 92: "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?"
Shakir 92: What is the matter with you that you do not speak?
Pickthal 92: What aileth you that ye speak not?
Mohsin Khan: 92: "What is the matter with you that you speak not?"
Saheeh: 92: What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?"
Urdu 92: تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ تم بولتے نہیں


93  
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًا بِالْيَمِينِ
Transliteration 93: Faragha AAalayhim darban bialyameeni
Yusuf Ali 93: Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand.
Shakir 93: Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand.
Pickthal 93: Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand.
Mohsin Khan: 93: Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand.
Saheeh: 93: And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand.
Urdu 93: پھر وہ بڑے زور کے ساتھ دائیں ہاتھ سے ان کے توڑنے پر پل پڑا


94  
فَأَقْبَلُوا إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
Transliteration 94: Faaqbaloo ilayhi yaziffoona
Yusuf Ali 94: Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him).
Shakir 94: So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening.
Pickthal 94: And (his people) came toward him, hastening.
Mohsin Khan: 94: Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening.
Saheeh: 94: Then the people came toward him, hastening.
Urdu 94: پھر وہ اس کی طرف دوڑتے ہوئے بڑھے


95  
قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
Transliteration 95: Qala ataAAbudoona ma tanhitoona
Yusuf Ali 95: He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved?
Shakir 95: Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out?
Pickthal 95: He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve
Mohsin Khan: 95: He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve?
Saheeh: 95: He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve,
Urdu 95: کہا کیا تم پوجتے ہو جنہیں تم خود تراشتے ہو


96  
وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Transliteration 96: WaAllahu khalaqakum wama taAAmaloona
Yusuf Ali 96: "But Allah has created you and your handwork!"
Shakir 96: And Allah has created you and what you make.
Pickthal 96: When Allah hath created you and what ye make?
Mohsin Khan: 96: "While Allah has created you and what you make!"
Saheeh: 96: While Allah created you and that which you do?"
Urdu 96: حالانکہ الله ہی نے تمہیں پیدا کیا اور جو تم بناتے ہو


97  
قَالُوا ابْنُوا لَهُ بُنْيَانًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِي الْجَحِيمِ
Transliteration 97: Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyanan faalqoohu fee aljaheemi
Yusuf Ali 97: They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!"
Shakir 97: They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire.
Pickthal 97: They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire.
Mohsin Khan: 97: They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!"
Saheeh: 97: They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire."
Urdu 97: انہوں نے کہا ا س کے لیے ایک مکان بناؤ پھر اس کو آگ میں ڈال دو


98  
فَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَسْفَلِينَ
Transliteration 98: Faaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumu alasfaleena
Yusuf Ali 98: (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated!
Shakir 98: And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low.
Pickthal 98: And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost.
Mohsin Khan: 98: So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest.
Saheeh: 98: And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased.
Urdu 98: پس انہوں نے اس سے داؤ کرنے کا ارادہ کیا سو ہم نے انہیں ذلیل کر دیا


99  
وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ
Transliteration 99: Waqala innee thahibun ila rabbee sayahdeeni
Yusuf Ali 99: He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me!
Shakir 99: And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me.
Pickthal 99: And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me.
Mohsin Khan: 99: And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!"
Saheeh: 99: And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me.
Urdu 99: اور کہا میں نے اپنے رب کی طرف جانے والا ہوں وہ مجھے راہ بتائے گا


100  
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Transliteration 100: Rabbi hab lee mina alssaliheena
Yusuf Ali 100: "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!"
Shakir 100: My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds.
Pickthal 100: My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous.
Mohsin Khan: 100: "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous."
Saheeh: 100: My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."
Urdu 100: اے میرے رب! مجھے ایک صالح (لڑکا) عطا کر


101  
فَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِغُلَامٍ حَلِيمٍ
Transliteration 101: Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin
Yusuf Ali 101: So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear.
Shakir 101: So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance.
Pickthal 101: So We gave him tidings of a gentle son.
Mohsin Khan: 101: So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy.
Saheeh: 101: So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.
Urdu 101: پس ہم نے اسے ایک لڑکے حلم والے کی خوشخبری دی


102  
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَىٰ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ
Transliteration 102: Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAya qala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanami annee athbahuka faonthur matha tara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tumaru satajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena
Yusuf Ali 102: Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"
Shakir 102: And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones.
Pickthal 102: And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast.
Mohsin Khan: 102: And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offering you in sacrifice to Allah). So look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah wills), you shall find me of As-Sabirun (the patient)."
Saheeh: 102: And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast."
Urdu 102: پھر جب وہ اس کے ہمراہ چلنے پھرنے لگا کہا اے بیٹے! بے شک میں خواب میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں تجھے ذبح کر کر رہا ہوں پس دیکھ تیری کیا رائےہے کہا اے ابا! جو حکم آپ کو ہوا ہے کر دیجیئے آپ مجھے انشاالله صبر کرنے والوں میں پائیں گے


103  
فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُ لِلْجَبِينِ
Transliteration 103: Falamma aslama watallahu liljabeeni
Yusuf Ali 103: So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),
Shakir 103: So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead,
Pickthal 103: Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face,
Mohsin Khan: 103: Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering);
Saheeh: 103: And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,
Urdu 103: پس جب دونوں نے قبول کر لیا اور اس نے پیشانی کے بل ڈال دیا


104  
وَنَادَيْنَاهُ أَن يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ
Transliteration 104: Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu
Yusuf Ali 104: We called out to him "O Abraham!
Shakir 104: And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim!
Pickthal 104: We called unto him: O Abraham!
Mohsin Khan: 104: We called out to him: "O Abraham!
Saheeh: 104: We called to him, "O Abraham,
Urdu 104: اور ہم نے اسے پکارا کہ اے ابراھیم!


105  
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا ۚ إِنَّا كَذَ‌ٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Transliteration 105: Qad saddaqta alrruya inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena
Yusuf Ali 105: "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
Shakir 105: You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good:
Pickthal 105: Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good.
Mohsin Khan: 105: You have fulfilled the dream!" Verily thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - See 2:112).
Saheeh: 105: You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Urdu 105: تو نے خواب سچا کر دکھایا بے شک ہم اسی طرح ہم اسی طرح نیکو کاروں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں


106  
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلَاءُ الْمُبِينُ
Transliteration 106: Inna hatha lahuwa albalao almubeenu
Yusuf Ali 106: For this was obviously a trial-
Shakir 106: Most surely this is a manifest trial.
Pickthal 106: Lo! that verily was a clear test.
Mohsin Khan: 106: Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial.
Saheeh: 106: Indeed, this was the clear trial.
Urdu 106: البتہ یہ صریح آزمائش ہے


107  
وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
Transliteration 107: Wafadaynahu bithibhin AAatheemin
Yusuf Ali 107: And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice:
Shakir 107: And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice.
Pickthal 107: Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim.
Mohsin Khan: 107: And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. كبش - a ram);
Saheeh: 107: And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,
Urdu 107: اور ہم نے ایک بڑا ذبیحہ ا سکے عوض دیا


108  
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ
Transliteration 108: Watarakna AAalayhi fee alakhireena
Yusuf Ali 108: And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:
Shakir 108: And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations.
Pickthal 108: And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation):
Mohsin Khan: 108: And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among the later generations.
Saheeh: 108: And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:
Urdu 108: اور ہم نے پیچھے آنے والوں میں یہ بات ان کے لیے رہنے دی


109  
سَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
Transliteration 109: Salamun AAala ibraheema
Yusuf Ali 109: "Peace and salutation to Abraham!"
Shakir 109: Peace be on Ibrahim.
Pickthal 109: Peace be unto Abraham!
Mohsin Khan: 109: "Salam (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!"
Saheeh: 109: "Peace upon Abraham."
Urdu 109: ابراھیم پر سلام ہو
