Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
23.كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ
Transliteration:Kaththabat thamoodu bialnnuthuri
Yusuf Ali:The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners.
Shakir:Samood rejected the warning.
Pickthall:(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings
Mohsin Khan:Thamud (people also) belied the warnings.
Saheeh:Thamud denied the warning
Urdu:قوم ثمود نے بھی ڈرانے والوں کو جھٹلایا تھا

24.فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
Transliteration:Faqaloo abasharan minna wahidan nattabiAAuhu inna ithan lafee dalalin wasuAAurin
Yusuf Ali:For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad!
Shakir:So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress:
Pickthall:For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness.
Mohsin Khan:And they said: "A man, alone among us - shall we follow him? Truly then we should be in error and distress (or madness)!"
Saheeh:And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.
Urdu:پس کہا کیا ہم اپنے میں سے ایک آدمی کے کہنے پر چلیں گے تب تو ہم ضرور گمراہی اور دیوانگی میں جا پڑیں گے

25.أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ
Transliteration:Aolqiya alththikru AAalayhi min baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashirun
Yusuf Ali:"Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!"
Shakir:Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar!
Pickthall:Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar.
Mohsin Khan:"Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih عليه السلام] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!"
Saheeh:Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar."
Urdu:کیا ہم میں سے اسی پر وحی بھیجی گئی بلکہ وہ بڑا جھوٹا (اور) شیخی خورہ ہے

26.سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ
Transliteration:SayaAAlamoona ghadan mani alkaththabu alashiru
Yusuf Ali:Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one!
Shakir:Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one.
Pickthall:(Unto their warner it was said): To-morrow they will know who is the rash liar.
Mohsin Khan:Tomorrow they will come to know who is the liar, the insolent one!
Saheeh:They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar.
Urdu:عنقریب انہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا کون بڑا جھوٹا (اور) شیخی خورہ ہے

27.إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ
Transliteration:Inna mursiloo alnnaqati fitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir
Yusuf Ali:For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience!
Shakir:Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience.
Pickthall:Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience;
Mohsin Khan:Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih عليه السلام], and be patient!
Saheeh:Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient.
Urdu:بے شک ہم ان کی آزمائش کے لیے اونٹنی بھیجنے والے ہیں پس (اے صالح) ان کا انتظار کر اور صبر کر

28.وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ
Transliteration:Wanabbihum anna almaa qismatun baynahum kullu shirbin muhtadarun
Yusuf Ali:And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns).
Shakir:And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated.
Pickthall:And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Every drinking will be witnessed.
Mohsin Khan:And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them, each one's right to drink being established (by turns).
Saheeh:And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn].
Urdu:اور ان سے کہہ دو کہ پانی ان میں بٹ گیا ہے ہر ایک اپنی باری سے پانی پلایا کرے

29.فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
Transliteration:Fanadaw sahibahum fataAAata faAAaqara
Yusuf Ali:But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her).
Shakir:But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her).
Pickthall:But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her).
Mohsin Khan:But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her).
Saheeh:But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her].
Urdu:پھر انہوں نے اپنے رفیق کو بلایا تب اس نے ہاتھ بڑھایا اور (اس کی) کانچیں کاٹ ڈالیں

30.فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Transliteration:Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
Yusuf Ali:Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning!
Shakir:How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
Pickthall:Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings!
Mohsin Khan:Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
Saheeh:And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Urdu:پھر (دیکھا) ہمارا عذاب اور ڈرانا کیسا تھا

31.إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ
Transliteration:Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatan wahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathiri
Yusuf Ali:For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle.
Shakir:Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects.
Pickthall:Lo! We sent upon them one Shout, and they became as the dry twigs (rejected by) the builder of a cattle-fold.
Mohsin Khan:Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry), and they became like the stubble of a fold-builder.
Saheeh:Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen.
Urdu:بے شک ہم نے ان پر ایک زور کی چیخ کا عذاب بھیجا پھر وہ ایسے ہو گئے جیسا کانٹو ں کی باڑ کا چورا
