| 142. | ۞ سَيَقُولُ السُّفَهَاءُ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَا وَلَّاهُمْ عَن قِبْلَتِهِمُ الَّتِي كَانُوا عَلَيْهَا ۚ قُل لِّلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ ۚ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ |
| Transliteration: | Sayaqoolu alssufahao mina alnnasi ma wallahum AAan qiblatihimu allatee kanoo AAalayha qul lillahi almashriqu waalmaghribu yahdee man yashao ila siratin mustaqeemin |
| Yusuf Ali: | The fools among the people will say: "What hath turned them from the Qibla to which they were used?" Say: To Allah belong both east and West: He guideth whom He will to a Way that is straight. |
| Urdu: | بے وقوف لوگ کہیں گے کہ کس چیز نے مسلمانوں کو ان کے قبلہ سے پھیر دیا جس پر وہ تھے کہہ دو مشرق اور مغرب الله ہی کا ہے وہ جسے چاہتا ہے سیدھا راستہ دکھاتا ہے |

| 143. | وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا ۗ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الْقِبْلَةَ الَّتِي كُنتَ عَلَيْهَا إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ ۚ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Wakathalika jaAAalnakum ommatan wasatan litakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasi wayakoona alrrasoolu AAalaykum shaheedan wama jaAAalna alqiblata allatee kunta AAalayha illa linaAAlama man yattabiAAu alrrasoola mimman yanqalibu AAala AAaqibayhi wain kanat lakabeeratan illa AAala allatheena hada Allahu wama kana Allahu liyudeeAAa eemanakum inna Allaha bialnnasi laraoofun raheemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that ye might be witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves; and We appointed the Qibla to which thou wast used, only to test those who followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (From the Faith). Indeed it was (A change) momentous, except to those guided by Allah. And never would Allah Make your faith of no effect. For Allah is to all people Most surely full of kindness, Most Merciful. |
| Urdu: | اور اسی طرح ہم نے تمہیں برگزیدہ امت بنایا تاکہ تم اور لوگوں پر گواہ ہو اور رسول تم پر گواہ ہو اور ہم نے وہ قبلہ نہیں بنایا تھا جس پر آپ پہلے تھے مگر اس لیے کہ ہم معلوم کریں اس کو جو رسول کی پیروی کرتا ہے اس سے جو الٹے پاؤں پھر جاتا ہےاور بے شک یہ بات بھاری ہے سوائے ان کے جنہیں الله نے ہدایت دی اور الله تمہارے ایمان کو ضائع نہیں کرے گا بے شک الله لوگوں پر بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے |

| 144. | قَدْ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِي السَّمَاءِ ۖ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَاهَا ۚ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۚ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ ۗ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Qad nara taqalluba wajhika fee alssamai falanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaha fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu ma kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu wainna allatheena ootoo alkitaba layaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma yaAAmaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | We see the turning of thy face (for guidance to the heavens: now Shall We turn thee to a Qibla that shall please thee. Turn then Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque: Wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction. The people of the Book know well that that is the truth from their Lord. Nor is Allah unmindful of what they do. |
| Urdu: | بے شک ہم آپ کے منہ کا آسمان کی طرف پھرنا دیکھ رہے ہیں سو ہم آپ کو اس قبلہ کی طرف پھیر دیں گے جسے آپ پسند کرتے ہیں پس اب اپنا منہ مسجد حرام کی طرف پھیر لیجیئے اور جہاں کہیں تم ہوا کرو اپنے مونہوں کو اسی کی طرف پھیر لیا کرو اور بے شک وہ لوگ جنہیں کتاب دی گئی ہے یقیناً جانتے ہیں کہ وہی حق ہے ان کے رب کی طرف سے اور الله اس سے بے خبر نہیں جو وہ کر رہے ہیں |

| 145. | وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُوا قِبْلَتَكَ ۚ وَمَا أَنتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا بَعْضُهُم بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ ۙ إِنَّكَ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Walain atayta allatheena ootoo alkitaba bikulli ayatin ma tabiAAoo qiblataka wama anta bitabiAAin qiblatahum wama baAAduhum bitabiAAin qiblata baAAdin walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi innaka ithan lamina alththalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Even if thou wert to bring to the people of the Book all the Signs (together), they would not follow Thy Qibla; nor art thou going to follow their Qibla; nor indeed will they follow each other's Qibla. If thou after the knowledge hath reached thee, Wert to follow their (vain) desires,-then wert thou Indeed (clearly) in the wrong. |
| Urdu: | اور اگر آپ ان کے سامنے تمام دلیلیں لے آئيں جنہیں کتاب دی گئی تو بھی وہ آپ کے قبلے کو نہیں مانیں گے اور نہ آپ ہی ان کے قبلہ کو ماننے والے ہیں اور نہ ان میں کوئی دوسرے قبلہ کو ماننے والا ہے اور اگر آپ ان کی خواہشوں کی پیروی کریں گے بعد اس کے کہ آپ کے پاس علم آ چکا تو بے شک آپ بھی تب ظالموں میں سے ہوں گے |

| 146. | الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَعْرِفُونَهُ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ ۖ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًا مِّنْهُمْ لَيَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Allatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yaAArifoonahu kama yaAArifoona abnaahum wainna fareeqan minhum layaktumoona alhaqqa wahum yaAAlamoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | The people of the Book know this as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know. |
| Urdu: | وہ لوگ جنہیں ہم نے کتاب دی تھی وہ اسے پہچانتے ہیں جیسے اپنے بیٹوں کو پہچانتے ہیں اور بےشک کچھ لوگ ان میں سے حق کوچھپاتے ہیں اور وہ جانتے ہیں |

| 147. | الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ ۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takoonanna mina almumtareena |
| Yusuf Ali: | The Truth is from thy Lord; so be not at all in doubt. |
| Urdu: | آپ کے رب کی طرف سے حق وہی ہے پس شک کرنے والوں میں سے نہ ہو |

| 148. | وَلِكُلٍّ وِجْهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَا ۖ فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ أَيْنَ مَا تَكُونُوا يَأْتِ بِكُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |
| Transliteration: | Walikullin wijhatun huwa muwalleeha faistabiqoo alkhayrati ayna ma takoonoo yati bikumu Allahu jameeAAan inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun |
| Yusuf Ali: | To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things. |
| Urdu: | اور ہر ایک کے لیے ایک طرف ہے جس طرف وہ منہ کرتا ہے پس تم نیکیوں کی طرف دوڑو تم جہاں کہیں بھی ہو گے تم سب کو الله سمیٹ کر لے آئے گا بے شک الله ہر چیز پر قادر ہے |

| 149. | وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wamin haythu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wainnahu lalhaqqu min rabbika wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | From whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; that is indeed the truth from the Lord. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do. |
| Urdu: | اور جہاں سے آپ نکلیں تو اپنا منہ مسجد حرام کی طرف کیا کریں اور آپ کے رب کی طرف سےیہی حق بھی ہے اور الله تمہارے کام سے غافل نہیں |

| 150. | وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۚ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِي وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Wamin haythu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu ma kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu lialla yakoona lilnnasi AAalaykum hujjatun illa allatheena thalamoo minhum fala takhshawhum waikhshawnee waliotimma niAAmatee AAalaykum walaAAallakum tahtadoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided; |
| Urdu: | اور آپ جہاں کہیں سے نکلیں تو اپنا منہ مسجد حرام کی طرف کیا کریں اور تم بھی جہاں کہیں ہو تو اپنا منہ ا س کی طرف کیاکر و تاکہ لوگوں کو تم پر کوئی الزام نہ رہے مگر ان میں سے جو ہٹ دھرم ہیں تم بھی ان سے نہ ڈرو اور ہم سے ڈرتے رہا کرو اور تاکہ میں اپنی نعمت تم پر پوری کروں اورتاکہ تم راہ پاؤ |
