167 | وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا ۚ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا قَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوِ ادْفَعُوا ۖ قَالُوا لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّاتَّبَعْنَاكُمْ ۗ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ ۚ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَ |
| | | | Transliteration 167: | WaliyaAAlama allatheena nafaqoo waqeela lahum taAAalaw qatiloo fee sabeeli Allahi awi idfaAAoo qaloo law naAAlamu qitalan laittabaAAnakum hum lilkufri yawmaithin aqrabu minhum lileemani yaqooloona biafwahihim ma laysa fee quloobihim waAllahu aAAlamu bima yaktumoona |
| | | | Yusuf Ali 167: | And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal. |
| | | | Urdu 167: | اور تاکہ منافقوں کو ظاہر کر دے اور انہیں کہا گیا تھا کہ آؤ الله کی راہ میں لڑو یا دشمنوں کو دفع کرو تو انہوں نے کہا اگر ہمیں علم ہوتا کہ آج جنگ ہو گی تو ہم ضرور تمہارے ساتھ چلتے وہ اس وقت بہ نسبت ایمان کے کفر سے زیادہ قریب تھے وہ اپنے مونہوں سے وہ باتیں کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دلو ں میں نہیں ہیں اور جو کچھ وہ چھپاتے ہیں الله اس کو خوب جانتا ہے |
