| 36. | وَأُوحِيَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ آمَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ |
| Transliteration: | Waoohiya ila noohin annahu lan yumina min qawmika illa man qad amana fala tabtais bima kanoo yafAAaloona |
| Yusuf Ali: | It was revealed to Noah: "None of thy people will believe except those who have believed already! So grieve no longer over their (evil) deeds. |
| Urdu: | اور نوح کی طرف وحی کی گئی کہ تیری قوم میں سے اب کوئی ایمان نہیں لائے گا مگر جو لا چکا پھر غم نہ کر اور کاموں پر جو کر رہے ہیں |

| 37. | وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ |
| Transliteration: | WaisnaAAi alfulka biaAAyunina wawahyina wala tukhatibnee fee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | "But construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood)." |
| Urdu: | اور ہمارے روبرو اور ہمارے حکم سے کشتی بنا اور ظالمو ں کے حق میں مجھ سے کوئی بات نہ کر بے شک وہ غرق کیے جائیں گے |

| 38. | وَيَصْنَعُ الْفُلْكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَأٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُ ۚ قَالَ إِن تَسْخَرُوا مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ |
| Transliteration: | WayasnaAAu alfulka wakullama marra AAalayhi malaon min qawmihi sakhiroo minhu qala in taskharoo minna fainna naskharu minkum kama taskharoona |
| Yusuf Ali: | Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: "If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise! |
| Urdu: | اور وہ کشتی بناتے تھے اور جب اس کی قوم کے سردار اس پر گزرتے اس سے ہنسی کرتے کہتے اگر تم ہم پر ہنستے ہو تو ہم بھی تم پر ہنسیں گے جیسے تم ہنستے ہو |

| 39. | فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Fasawfa taAAlamoona man yateehi AAathabun yukhzeehi wayahillu AAalayhi AAathabun muqeemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | "But soon will ye know who it is on whom will descend a penalty that will cover them with shame,- on whom will be unloosed a penalty lasting:" |
| Urdu: | تمہیں جلدی معلوم ہو جائے گا کہ کس پر عذاب آتا ہے جو اسے رسوا کرے گا اورکسی پر دائمی عذاب اترتا ہے |

| 40. | حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ آمَنَ ۚ وَمَا آمَنَ مَعَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ |
| Transliteration: | Hatta itha jaa amruna wafara alttannooru qulna ihmil feeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illa man sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu waman amana wama amana maAAahu illa qaleelun |
| Yusuf Ali: | At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family - except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers." but only a few believed with him. |
| Urdu: | یہاں تک کہ جب ہمارا حکم پہنچا اور تنور نے جوش مارا ہم نے کہا کشتی میں ہر قسم کے جوڑا نر مادہ چڑھا لے اور اپنے گھر والوں کو مگر وہ جن کے متعلق فیصلہ ہو چکا ہے اور سب ایمان والوں کو اور اس کے ساتھ ایمان تو بہت کم لائے تھے |

| 41. | ۞ وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوا فِيهَا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ مَجْرَاهَا وَمُرْسَاهَا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Waqala irkaboo feeha bismi Allahi majraha wamursaha inna rabbee laghafoorun raheemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | So he said: "Embark ye on the Ark, In the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!" |
| Urdu: | اور کہا اس میں سوار ہو جاؤ اس کا چلنا اور ٹھیرنا الله کے نا م سے ہےبے شک میرا رب بخشنے والا مہربان ہے |

| 42. | وَهِيَ تَجْرِي بِهِمْ فِي مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ابْنَهُ وَكَانَ فِي مَعْزِلٍ يَا بُنَيَّ ارْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ الْكَافِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Wahiya tajree bihim fee mawjin kaaljibali wanada noohunu ibnahu wakana fee maAAzilin ya bunayya irkab maAAana wala takun maAAa alkafireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): "O my son! embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!" |
| Urdu: | اور وہ انہیں پہاڑ جیسی لہروں میں لیے جارہی تھی اورنوح نے اپنے بیٹے کو پکارا جب کہ وہ کنارے پر تھا اے بیٹے ہمارے ساتھ سوار ہو جا اور کافروں کے ساتھ نہ رہ |

| 43. | قَالَ سَآوِي إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ ۚ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ۚ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala saawee ila jabalin yaAAsimunee mina almai qala la AAasima alyawma min amri Allahi illa man rahima wahala baynahuma almawju fakana mina almughraqeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | The son replied: "I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water." Noah said: "This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He hath mercy! "And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. |
| Urdu: | کہا میں ابھی کسی پہاڑ کی پناہ لے لیتا ہوں جو مجھے پانی سے بچا لے گا کہا آج الله کے حکم سے کوئی بچانے والا نہیں مگر جس پر وہی رحم کرے اور دونوں کے درمیان موج حائل ہو گئی پھر ڈوبنے والوں میں ہوگیا |

| 44. | وَقِيلَ يَا أَرْضُ ابْلَعِي مَاءَكِ وَيَا سَمَاءُ أَقْلِعِي وَغِيضَ الْمَاءُ وَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَاسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْجُودِيِّ ۖ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Waqeela ya ardu iblaAAee maaki waya samao aqliAAee wagheeda almao waqudiya alamru waistawat AAala aljoodiyyi waqeela buAAdan lilqawmi alththalimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Then the word went forth: "O earth! swallow up thy water, and O sky! Withhold (thy rain)!" and the water abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word went forth: "Away with those who do wrong!" |
| Urdu: | اور حکم آیا اے زمین اپنا پانی نگل جا اور اے آسمان تھم جا اور پانی سکھا دیا گیا اور کام ہو چکا اور کشتی جودی پہاڑ پر ٹھری اور کہہ دیا گیا کہ ظالموں پر پھٹکار ہے |

| 45. | وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Wanada noohun rabbahu faqala rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wainna waAAdaka alhaqqu waanta ahkamu alhakimeena |
| Yusuf Ali: | And Noah called upon his Lord, and said: "O my Lord! surely my son is of my family! and Thy promise is true, and Thou art the justest of Judges!" |
| Urdu: | اور نوح نے اپنے رب کو پکارا اے رب میرا بیٹا میرے گھر والوں میں سے ہے اوربے شک تیرا وعدہ سچا ہے اور تو سب سے بڑا حاکم ہے |

| 46. | قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala ya noohu innahu laysa min ahlika innahu AAamalun ghayru salihin fala tasalni ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun innee aAAithuka an takoona mina aljahileena |
| Yusuf Ali: | He said: "O Noah! He is not of thy family: For his conduct is unrighteous. So ask not of Me that of which thou hast no knowledge! I give thee counsel, lest thou act like the ignorant!" |
| Urdu: | فرمایا اے نوح وہ تیرے گھر والو ں میں سے نہیں ہے کیوں کہ اس کے عمل اچھے نہیں ہیں سو مجھ سے مت پوچھ جس کا تجھے علم نہیں میں تمہیں نصیحت کرتا ہوں کہ کہیں جاہلوں میں نہ ہو جاؤ |

| 47. | قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِي وَتَرْحَمْنِي أَكُن مِّنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ |
| Transliteration: | Qala rabbi innee aAAoothu bika an asalaka ma laysa lee bihi AAilmun wailla taghfir lee watarhamnee akun mina alkhasireena |
| Yusuf Ali: | Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with Thee, lest I ask Thee for that of which I have no knowledge. And unless thou forgive me and have Mercy on me, I should indeed be lost!" |
| Urdu: | کہا اے رب میں تیری پناہ لیتا ہوں اس بات سے کہ تجھ سے وہ بات پوچھوں جو مجھے معلوم نہیں اور اگر تو نے مجھے نہ بخشا اورمجھ پر رحم نہ کیا تو میں نقصان والوں میں ہو جاؤں گا |

| 48. | قِيلَ يَا نُوحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلَامٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَاتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ ۚ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |
| Transliteration: | Qeela ya noohu ihbit bisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAala omamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhum minna AAathabun aleemun |
| Yusuf Ali: | The word came: "O Noah! Come down (from the Ark) with peace from Us, and blessing on thee and on some of the peoples (who will spring) from those with thee: but (there will be other) peoples to whom We shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end will a grievous penalty reach them from Us." |
| Urdu: | کہا گیا اے نوح ہماری طرف سے سلامتی اور برکتوں کے ساتھ جو تم پر اور تمہارے ساتھ والوں پر رہیں گی کشتی سے اتر اور دوسرے فرقے ہیں کہ ہم انھیں دنیا میں فائدہ دیں گے پھر انہیں ہماری طرف سے دردناک عذاب پہنچے گا |
