(1) Prove orphans till they reach the marriageable age; then, if ye find them of sound judgment, deliver over unto them their fortune; and devour it not by squandering and in haste lest they should grow up Whoso (of the guardians) is rich, let him abstain generously (from taking of the property of orphans); and whoso is poor let him take thereof in reason (for his guardianship). And when ye deliver up their fortune unto orphans, have (the transaction) witnessed in their presence. Allah sufficeth as a Reckoner.

(2) O ye who believe! squander not your wealth among yourselves in vanity, except it be a trade by mutual consent, and kill not one another. Lo! Allah is ever Merciful unto you.

(3) And as for those who make (men) keep the Scripture, and establish worship - lo! We squander not the wages of reformers.

(4) Give the kinsman his due, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and squander not (thy wealth) in wantonness.

(5) Lo! the squanderers were ever brothers of the devils, and the devil was ever an ingrate to his Lord.

(6) And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (it will be said): Ye squandered your good things in the life of the world and sought comfort therein. Now this day ye are rewarded with the doom of ignominy because ye were disdainful in the land without a right, and because ye used to transgress.
