(31) And that you should keep up prayer and be careful of (your duty to) Him; and He it is to Whom you shall be gathered.

(32) And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed, verifying that which is before it, and that you may warn the metropolis and those around her; and those who believe in the hereafter believe in it, and they attend to their prayers constantly.

(33) Say. Surely my prayer and my sacrifice and my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of the worlds;

(34) Say: My Lord has enjoined justice, and set upright your faces at every time of prayer and call on Him, being sincere to Him in obedience; as He brought you forth in the beginning, so shall you also return.

(35) O children of Adam! attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely He does not love the extravagant.

(36) And (as for) those who hold fast by the Book and keep up prayer, surely We do not waste the reward of the right doers.

(37) Those who keep up prayer and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them.

(38) And their prayer before the House is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands; taste then the chastisement, for you disbelieved.

(39) So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

(40) But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.
