(1) O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after having knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth sterile land, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage.

(2) Nay, He Who created the heavens and the earth, and sent down for you water from the cloud; then We cause to grow thereby beautiful gardens; it is not possible for you that you should make the trees thereof to grow. Is there a god with Allah? Nay! they are people who deviate.

(3) And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes;

(4) Thus (shall it be), and We will wed them with Houris pure, beautiful ones.

(5) And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds,

(6) Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones.

(7) In them are goodly things, beautiful ones.

(8) Reclining on green cushions and beautiful carpets.

(9) And pure, beautiful ones,
