(1) What! whenever they make a covenant, a party of them cast it aside? Nay, most of them do not believe.

(3) This is of the announcements relating to the unseen which We reveal to you; and you were not with them when they cast their pens (to decide) which of them should have Marium in his charge, and you were not with them when they contended one with another.

(4) We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they set up with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and their abode is the fire, and evil is the abode of the unjust.

(6) And whoever does this aggressively and unjustly, We will soon cast him into fire; and this is easy to Allah.

(7) And of them is he who hearkens to you, and We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and a heaviness into their ears; and even if they see every sign they will not believe in it; so much so that when they come to you they only dispute with you; those who disbelieve say: This is naught but the stories of the ancients.

(8) They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast?

(9) He said: cast. So when they cast, they deceived the people's eyes and frightened them, and they produced a mighty enchantment.

(10) And We revealed to Musa, saying: cast your rod; then lo! it devoured the lies they told.
