(1) In their history verily there is a lesson for men of understanding. It is no invented story but a confirmation of the existing (Scripture) and a detailed explanation of everything, and a guidance and a mercy for folk who believe.

(2) Allah knoweth that which every female beareth and that which the wombs absorb and that which they grow. And everything with Him is measured.

(3) And verily We sent messengers (to mankind) before thee, and We appointed for them wives and offspring, and it was not (given) to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave. For everything there is a time prescribed.

(4) And We appoint the night and the day two portents. Then We make dark the portent of the night, and We make the portent of the day sight-giving, that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may know the computation of the years, and the reckoning; and everything have We expounded with a clear expounding.

(5) He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright.

(6) And unto Solomon (We subdued) the wind in its raging. It set by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are Aware.

(7) He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure.

(8) And cry not unto any other god along with Allah. There is no Allah save Him. everything will perish save His countenance. His is the command, and unto Him ye will be brought back.

(9) They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision

(10) everything have We recorded in a Book.
