Look upon the fruit thereof, when they bear fruit, and upon its ripening. Lo! herein verily are portents for a people who believe.

(2) Therewith He causeth crops to grow for you, and the olive and the date-palm and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Lo! herein is indeed a portent for people who reflect.

(3) And of the fruits of the date-palm, and grapes, whence ye derive strong drink and (also) good nourishment. Lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who have sense.

(4) Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly;

(5) Coin for them a similitude: Two men, unto one of whom We had assigned two gardens of grapes, and We had surrounded both with date-palms and had put between them tillage.

(6) Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat;

(7) And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein,

(8) And grapes and green fodder
