(681) Surely this is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes and I have a single ewe; but he said: Make it over to me, and he has prevailed against me in discourse.

(682) He said: Surely he has been unjust to you in demanding your ewe (to add) to his own ewes; and most surely most of the partners act wrongfully towards one another, save those who believe and do good, and very few are they; and Dawood was sure that We had tried him, so he sought the protection of his Lord and he fell down bowing and turned time after time (to Him).

(683) And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment.

(684) They shall say: Our Lord! whoever prepared it first for us, add Thou to him a double chastisement in the fire.

(685) He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust.

(686) If Allah desire to take a son to Himself, He will surely choose those He pleases from what He has created. Glory be to Him: He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all).

(687) He has created the heavens and the earth with the truth; He makes the night cover the day and makes the day overtake the night, and He has made the sun and the moon subservient; each one runs on to an assigned term; now surely He is the Mighty, the great Forgiver.

(688) He has created you from a single being, then made its mate of the same (kind), and He has made for you eight of the cattle in pairs. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers-- a creation after a creation-- in triple darkness; that is Allah your Lord, His is the kingdom; there is no god but He; whence are you then turned away?

(689) Say: I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the chastisement of a grievous day.

(690) Those who listen to the word, then follow the best of it; those are they whom Allah has guided, and those it is who are the men of understanding.
