(1) And leave those who have taken their religion for a play and an idle sport, and whom this world's life has deceived, and remind (them) thereby lest a soul should be given up to destruction for what it has earned; it shall not have besides Allah any guardian nor an intercessor, and if it should seek to give every compensation, it shall not be accepted from it; these are they who shall be given up to destruction for what they earned; they shall have a drink of boiling water and a painful chastisement because they disbelieved.

(2) Toil shall not afflict them in it, nor shall they be ever ejected from it.

(3) These are two adversaries who dispute about their Lord; then (as to) those who disbelieve, for them are cut out garments of fire, boiling water shall be poured over their heads.

(4) And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat.

(5) Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass, (and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not-- light upon light-- Allah guides to His light whom He pleases, and Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Cognizant of all things.

(6) Who has made us alight in a house abiding for ever out of His grace; toil shall not touch us therein, nor shall fatigue therein afflict us.

(7) Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water.

(8) And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment.

(9) This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink).

(10) Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned;
