(1) Shall I tell thee of a worse (case) than theirs for retribution with Allah? (Worse is the case of him) whom Allah hath cursed, him on whom His wrath hath fallen and of whose sort Allah hath turned some to apes and swine, and who serveth idols. Such are in worse plight and further astray from the plain road.

(2) They say: Why hath not an angel been sent down unto him? If We sent down an angel, then the matter would be judged; no further time would be allowed them (for reflection).

(3) Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not.

(4) Whoso is blind here will be blind in the Hereafter, and yet further from the road.

(5) And when they had gone further, he said unto his servant: Bring us our breakfast. Verily we have found fatigue in this our journey.

(7) Bethink you: If it is from Allah and ye reject it - Who is further astray than one who is at open feud (with Allah)?

(8) And who is further astray than those who, instead of Allah, pray unto such as hear not their prayer until the Day of Resurrection, and are unconscious of their prayer,

(9) If ye twain turn unto Allah repentant, (ye have cause to do so) for your hearts desired (the ban); and if ye aid one another against him (Muhammad) then lo! Allah, even He, is his Protecting Friend, and Gabriel and the righteous among the believers; and furthermore the angels are his helpers.
