(46) Then did We grant you the Return as against them: We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man-power.

(47) And it is your Lord that knoweth best all beings that are in the heavens and on earth: We did bestow on some prophets more (and other) gifts than on others: and We gave to David (the gift of) the Psalms.

(48) We gave strength to their hearts: Behold, they stood up and said: "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and of the earth: never shall we call upon any god other than Him: if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity!

(49) Verily We established his power on earth, and We gave him the ways and the means to all ends.

(50) (To his son came the command): "O Yahya! take hold of the Book with might": and We gave him Wisdom even as a youth,
