(131) Ta. Sin. These are revelations of the Qur'an and a scripture that maketh plain;

(132) One with whom was knowledge of the scripture said: I will bring it thee before thy gaze returneth unto thee. And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul; and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful.

(133) These are revelations of the scripture that maketh plain.

(134) And We verily gave the scripture unto Moses after We had destroyed the generations of old: clear testimonies for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy, that haply they might reflect.

(135) Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Then bring a scripture from the presence of Allah that giveth clearer guidance than these two (that) I may follow it, if ye are truthful.

(136) Those unto whom We gave the scripture before it, they believe in it,

(137) Thou hadst no hope that the scripture would be inspired in thee; but it is a mercy from thy Lord, so never be a helper to the disbelievers.

(138) And We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We established the prophethood and the scripture among his seed, and We gave him his reward in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he verily is among the righteous.

(139) Recite that which hath been inspired in thee of the scripture, and establish worship. Lo! worship preserveth from lewdness and iniquity, but verily remembrance of Allah is more important. And Allah knoweth what ye do.

(140) And argue not with the People of the scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our Allah and your Allah is One, and unto Him we surrender.
