(31) O children of Adam! let not the shaitan cause you to fall into affliction as he expelled your parents from the garden, pulling off from them both their clothing that he might show them their evil inclinations, he surely sees you, he as well as his host, from whence you cannot see them; surely We have made the shaitans to be the guardians of those who do not believe.

(32) A part has He guided aright and (as for another) part, error is justly their due, surely they took the shaitans for guardians beside Allah, and they think that they are followers of the right

(33) And recite to them the narrative of him to whom We give Our communications, but he withdraws himself from them, so the shaitan overtakes him, so he is of those who go astray.

(34) And if a false imputation from the shaitan afflict you, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is Hearing, Knowing.

(35) Surely those who guard (against evil), when a visitation from the shaitan afflicts them they become mindful, then lo! they see.

(36) When He caused calm to fall on you as a security from Him and sent down upon you water from the cloud that He might thereby purify you, and take away from you the uncleanness of the shaitan, and that He might fortify your hearts and steady (your) footsteps thereby.

(37) And when the shaitan made their works fair seeming to them, and said: No one can overcome you this day, and surely I am your protector: but when the two parties came in sight of each other he turned upon his heels, and said: Surely I am clear of you, surely I see what you do not see, surely I fear Allah; and Allah is severe in requiting (evil).

(38) He said: O my son! do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they devise a plan against you; surely the shaitan is an open enemy to man.

(39) And he said to him whom he knew would be delivered of the two: Remember me with your lord; but the shaitan caused him to forget mentioning (it) to his lord, so he remained in the prison a few years.

(40) And he raised his parents upon the throne and they fell down in prostration before him, and he said: O my father! this is the significance of my vision of old; my Lord has indeed made it to be true; and He was indeed kind to me when He brought me forth from the prison and brought you from the desert after the shaitan had sown dissensions between me and my brothers, surely my Lord is benignant to whom He pleases; surely He is the Knowing, the Wise.
