(861) And they say: What is the matter with this Apostle that he eats food and goes about in the markets; why has not an angel been sent down to him, so that he should have been a warner with him?

(862) Say: Is this better or the abiding garden which those who guard (against evil) are promised? that shall be a reward and a resort for them.

(863) They shall say: Glory be to Thee; it was not beseeming for us that we should take any guardians besides Thee, but Thou didst make them and their fathers to enjoy until they forsook the reminder, and they were a people in perdition,

(864) On the day when they shall see the angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: It is a forbidden thing totally prohibited.

(865) The dwellers of the garden shall on that day be in a better abiding-place and a better resting-place.

(866) The kingdom on that day shall rightly belong to the Beneficent Allah, and a hard day shall it be for the unbelievers.

(867) And the day when the unjust one shall bite his hands saying: O! would that I had taken a way with the Apostle

(868) O woe is me! would that I had not taken such a one for a friend!

(869) And those who disbelieve say: Why has not the Quran been revealed to him all at once? Thus, that We may strengthen your heart by it and We have arranged it well in arranging.

(870) Or do you think that most of them do hear or understand? They are nothing but as cattle; nay, they are straying farther off from the path.
