(233) He said: "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute): Help me therefore with strength (and labour): I will erect a strong barrier between you and them:

(234) Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.

(235) Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing?

(236) "O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight.

(237) Gardens of Eternity, those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass.

(238) Such is the Garden which We give as an inheritance to those of Our servants who guard against Evil.

(239) Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with thy Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished.

(240) When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe, "which of the two sides is best in point of position? which makes the best show in council?"
