(34) Have you not considered how Allah sets forth a parable of a good word (being) like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches are in heaven,
(35) Then on the resurrection day He will bring them to disgrace and say: Where are the associates you gave Me, for whose sake you became hostile? Those who are given the knowledge will say: Surely the disgrace and the evil are this day upon the unbelievers:
(36) These are they on whose hearts and their hearing and their eyes Allah has set a seal, and these are the heedless ones.
(37) And withhold yourself with those who call on their Lord morning and evening desiring His goodwill, and let not your eyes pass from them, desiring the beauties of this world's life; and do not follow him whose heart We have made unmindful to Our remembrance, and he follows his low desires and his case is one in which due bounds are exceeded.
(38) They whose eyes were under a cover from My reminder and they could not even hear.
(39) (These are) they whose labor is lost in this world's life and they think that they are well versed in skill of the work of hands.
(40) O Zakariya! surely We give you good news of a boy whose name shall be Yahya: We have not made before anyone his equal.
