(52) O our Lord! surely I have settled a part of my offspring in a valley unproductive of fruit near Thy Sacred House, our Lord! that they may keep up prayer; therefore make the hearts of some people yearn towards them and provide them with fruits; haply they may be grateful:

(53) My Lord! make me keep up prayer and from my offspring (too), O our Lord, and accept my prayer:

(54) He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that which is announced to him. Shall he keep it with disgrace or bury it (alive) in the dust? Now surely evil is what they judge.

(55) keep up prayer from the declining of the sun till the darkness of the night and the morning recitation; surely the morning recitation is witnessed.

(56) He said: If I ask you about anything after this, keep me not in your company; indeed you shall have (then) found an excuse in my case.

(57) Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance:

(58) They said: We will by no means cease to keep to its worship until Musa returns to us.

(59) And We made them Imams who guided (people) by Our command, and We revealed to them the doing of good and the keeping up of prayer and the giving of the alms, and Us (alone) did they serve;

(60) (To) those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, and those who are patient under that which afflicts them, and those who keep up prayer, and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them.
