(291) This (Qur'an) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilah (God - Allah) - (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) - and that men of understanding may take heed.

(292) Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].These are Verses of the Book and a plain Qur'an.

(293) Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!

(294) And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it.

(295) And there is not a thing, but with Us are the stores thereof. And We send it not down except in a known measure.

(296) And indeed, We know the first generations of you who had passed away, and indeed, We know the present generations of you (mankind), and also those who will come afterwards.

(297) And verily, your Lord will gather them together. Truly, He is All-Wise, All-knowing.

(298) They (the angels) said: "Do not be afraid! We give you glad tidings of a boy (son) possessing much knowledge and wisdom."

(299) He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me."

(300) And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning.
