(32) Remember! Moses said to his people: "Call to mind the favour of Allah to you when He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: they set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons, and let your women-folk live: therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord."

(33) With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought.

(34) "(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of wrong-doing to their own souls." Then would they offer submission (with the pretence), "We did no evil (knowingly)." (The angels will reply), "Nay, but verily Allah knoweth all that ye did;

(35) (Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of purity, saying (to them), "Peace be on you; enter ye the Garden, because of (the good) which ye did (in the world)."

(36) Nor had he numbers to help him against Allah, nor was he able to deliver himself.

(37) "And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;

(38) Man says: "What! When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?"

(39) (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?"

(40) He said, "Nay, throw ye first!" Then behold their ropes and their rods-so it seemed to him on account of their magic - began to be in lively motion!
