(11) And it moved on with them amid waves like mountains; and nuh called out to his son, and he was aloof: O my son! embark with us and be not with the unbelievers.

(12) He said: I will betake myself for refuge to a mountain that shall protect me from the water. nuh said: There is no protector today from Allah's punishment but He Who has mercy; and a wave intervened between them, so he was of the drowned.

(13) And nuh cried out to his Lord and said: My Lord! surely my son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely true, and Thou art the most just of the judges.

(14) He said: O nuh! surely he is not of your family; surely he is (the doer of) other than good deeds, therefore ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge; surely I admonish you lest you may be of the ignorant

(15) It was said: O nuh! descend with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people from among those who are with you, and there shall be nations whom We will afford provisions, then a painful punishment from Us shall afflict them.

(16) And, O my people! let not opposition to me make you guilty so that there may befall you the like of what befell the people of nuh, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you;

(17) Has not the account reached you of those before you, of the people of nuh and Ad and Samood, and those after them? None knows them but Allah. Their apostles come to them with clear arguments, but they thrust their hands into their mouths and said: Surely we deny that with which you are sent, and most surely we are in serious doubt as to that to which you invite us.

(18) The offspring of those whom We bore with nuh; surely he was a grateful servant.

(19) And how many of the generations did We destroy after nuh! and your Lord is sufficient as Knowing and Seeing with regard to His servants' faults.

(20) These are they on whom Allah bestowed favors, from among the prophets of the seed of Adam, and of those whom We carried with nuh, and of the seed of Ibrahim and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose; when the communications of the Beneficent Allah were recited to them, they fell down making obeisance and weeping.
