(581) See what similitudes they coin for thee, and thus are all astray, and cannot find a road!

(582) And they say: When we are bones and fragments, shall we forsooth, be raised up as a new creation?

(583) A day when He will call you and ye will answer with His praise, and ye will think that ye have tarried but a little while.

(584) And when We said unto the angels: Fall down prostrate before Adam and they fell prostrate all save Iblis, he said: Shall I fall prostrate before that which Thou hast created of clay?

(585) He said: Seest Thou this (creature) whom Thou hast honoured above me, if Thou give me grace until the Day of Resurrection I verily will seize his seed, save but a few.

(586) And some part of the night awake for it, a largess for thee. It may be that thy Lord will raise thee to a praised estate.

(587) And if We willed We could withdraw that which We have revealed unto thee, then wouldst thou find no guardian for thee against Us in respect thereof.

(588) Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly;

(589) Or thou cause the heaven to fall upon us piecemeal, as thou hast pretended, or bring Allah and the angels as a warrant;

(590) And he whom Allah guideth, he is led aright; while, as for him whom He sendeth astray, for them thou wilt find no protecting friends beside Him, and We shall assemble them on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf; their habitation will be hell; whenever it abateth, We increase the flame for them.
