(11) And when Allah will say: O Isa son of Marium! did you say to men, Take me and my mother for two gods besides Allah he will say: Glory be to thee, it did not befit me that I should say what I had no right to (say); if I had said it, Thou wouldst indeed have known it; Thou knowest what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in Thy mind, surely Thou art the great Knower of the unseen things.
(12) And when Musa came at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said: My Lord! show me (Thyself), so that I may look upon thee. He said: You cannot (bear to) see Me but look at the mountain, if it remains firm in its place, then will you see Me; but when his Lord manifested His glory to the mountain He made it crumble and Musa fell down in a swoon; then when he recovered, he said: Glory be to thee, I turn to thee, and I am the first of the believers.
(13) And ordain for us good in this world's life and in the hereafter, for surely we turn to thee. He said: (As for) My chastisement, I will afflict with it whom I please, and My mercy encompasses all things; so I will ordain it (specially) for those who guard (against evil) and pay the poor-rate, and those who believe in Our communications.
(14) And when they said: O Allah! if this is the truth from thee, then rain upon us stones from heaven or inflict on us a painful punishment.
(15) Their cry in it shall be: Glory to thee, O Allah! and their greeting in it shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
(16) He said: My Lord! I seek refuge in thee from asking thee that of which I have no knowledge; and if Thou shouldst not forgive me and have mercy on me, I should be of the losers.
(17) And when those who associate (others with Allah) shall see their associate-gods, they shall say: Our Lord, these are our associate-gods on whom we called besides thee. But they will give them back the reply: Most surely you are liars.
(18) And say: My Lord! make me to enter a goodly entering, and cause me to go forth a goodly going forth, and grant me from near thee power to assist (me).
(19) When the youths sought refuge in the cave, they said: Our Lord! grant us mercy from thee, and provide for us a right course in our affair.
(20) He said: My Lord! surely my bones are weakened and my head flares with hoariness, and, my Lord! I have never been unsuccessful in my prayer to thee:
