(141) Often will those who disbelieve wish that they had been Muslims.
(142) And never did We destroy a town but it had a term made known.
(143) Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed.
(144) And they who give associates (to Allah) say: If Allah had pleased, we would not have served anything besides Allah, (neither) we nor our fathers, nor would we have prohibited anything without (order from) Him. Thus did those before them; is then aught incumbent upon the apostles except a plain delivery (of the message)?
(145) Do they not consider every thing that Allah has created? Its (very) shadows return from right and left, making obeisance to Allah while they are in utter abasement.
(146) And if Allah had destroyed men for their iniquity, He would not leave on the earth a single creature, but He respites them till an appointed time; so when their doom will come they shall not be able to delay (it) an hour nor can they bring (it) on (before its time).
(147) And We had made known to the children of Israel in the Book: Most certainly you will make mischief in the land twice, and most certainly you will behave insolently with great insolence.
(148) And surely they had purposed to turn you away from that which We have revealed to you, that you should forge against Us other than that, and then they would certainly have taken you for a friend.
(149) And had it not been that We had already established you, you would certainly have been near to incline to them a little;
(150) Say: had there been in the earth angels walking about as settlers, We would certainly have sent down to them from the heaven an angel as an apostle.
