(241) And make mention of Mary in the Scripture, when she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East,

(242) He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a revelation for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained.

(243) Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation,

(244) Then exalted be Allah, the True king! And hasten not (O Muhammad) with the Qur'an ere its revelation hath been perfected unto thee, and say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.

(245) Their reckoning draweth nigh for mankind, while they turn away in heedlessness.

(246) Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I warn you only by the Inspiration. But the deaf hear not the call when they are warned.

(247) And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful?

(248) Lo! those unto whom kindness hath gone forth before from Us, they will be far removed from thence.

(249) O mankind! Fear your Lord. Lo! the earthquake of the Hour (of Doom) is a tremendous thing.

(250) On the day when ye behold it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling and every pregnant one will be delivered of her burden, and thou (Muhammad) wilt see mankind as drunken, yet they will not be drunken, but the Doom of Allah will be strong (upon them).
