(43) Lo! Abraham was a nation obedient to Allah, by nature upright, and he was not of the idolaters;

(44) And afterward We inspired thee (Muhammad, saying): Follow the religion of Abraham, as one by nature upright. He was not of the idolaters.

(45) And when We would destroy a township We send commandment to its folk who live at ease, and afterward they commit abomination therein, and so the Word (of doom) hath effect for it, and we annihilate it with complete annihilation.

(46) And afterward We raised them up that We might know which of the two parties would best calculate the time that they had tarried.

(47) Now there hath succeeded them a later generation whom have ruined worship and have followed lusts. But they will meet deception.

(48) Thus relate We unto thee (Muhammad) some tidings of that which happened of old, and We have given thee from Our presence a reminder.

(49) (But it was said unto them): Flee not, but return to that (existence) which emasculated you and to your dwellings, that ye may be questioned.

(50) Lo! ye (idolaters) and that which ye worship beside Allah are fuel of hell. Thereunto ye will come.
