(21) "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,-
(22) He replied: "Behold, they are close on my footsteps: I hastened to thee, O my Lord, to please thee."
(23) He said: "Get ye down, both of you,- all together, from the Garden, with enmity one to another: but if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from Me, whosoever follows My Guidance, will not lose his way, nor fall into misery.
(24) Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away.
(25) There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were, on the verge: if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces: they lose both this world and the Hereafter: that is loss for all to see!
(26) Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.
(27) Say: "It may be that some of the events which ye wish to hasten on may be (close) in your pursuit!"
(28) But there came to be a void in the heart of the mother of Moses: She was going almost to disclose his (case), had We not strengthened her heart (with faith), so that she might remain a (firm) believer.
(29) "Move thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm), and draw thy hand close to thy side (to guard) against fear. Those are the two credentials from thy Lord to Pharaoh and his Chiefs: for truly they are a people rebellious and wicked."
(30) In a land close by; but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious-
