(311) And strive for Allah with the endeavour which is His right. He hath chosen you and hath not laid upon you in religion any hardship; the faith of your father Abraham (is yours). He hath named you Muslims of old time and in this (Scripture), that the messenger may be a witness against you, and that ye may be witnesses against mankind. So establish worship, pay the poor-due, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protecting friend. A blessed Patron and a blessed Helper!

(312) Verily We created man from a product of wet earth;

(313) And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat;

(314) He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while.

(315) Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned.

(316) Lo! herein verily are portents, for lo! We are ever putting (mankind) to the test.

(317) He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him.

(318) But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets.

(319) Lo! they who spread the slander are a gang among you. Deem it not a bad thing for you; nay, it is good for you. Unto every man of them (will be paid) that which he hath earned of the sin; and as for him among them who had the greater share therein, his will be an awful doom.

(320) Why did not the believers, men and women, when ye heard it, think good of their own own folk, and say: It is a manifest untruth?
