(541) Say to the desert Arabs who lagged behind: "Ye shall be summoned (to fight) against a people given to vehement war: then shall ye fight, or they shall submit. then if ye show obedience, Allah will grant you a goodly reward, but if ye turn back as ye did before, He will punish you with a grievous Penalty."

(542) If the Unbelievers should fight you, they would certainly turn their backs; then would they find neither protector nor helper.

(543) Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer), seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. On their faces are their marks, (being) the traces of their prostration. This is their similitude in the Taurat; and their similitude in the Gospel is: like a seed which sends forth its blade, then makes it strong; it then becomes thick, and it stands on its own stem, (filling) the sowers with wonder and delight. As a result, it fills the Unbelievers with rage at them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous deeds forgiveness, and a great Reward.

(544) If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair: for Allah loves those who are fair (and just).

(545) Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation?

(546) But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)?

(547) Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.

(548) Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life.

(549) As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see?

(550) then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other.
