(31) The (mighty) Blast overtook the wrong-doers, and they lay prostrate in their homes before the morning,-

(32) And he raised his parents high on the throne (of dignity), and they fell down in prostration, (all) before him. He said: "O my father! this is the fulfilment of my vision of old! Allah hath made it come true! He was indeed good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you (all here) out of the desert, (even) after Satan had sown enmity between me and my brothers. Verily my Lord understandeth best the mysteries of all that He planneth to do, for verily He is full of knowledge and wisdom.

(33) But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning,

(34) Those before them did also plot (against Allah's Way): but Allah took their structures from their foundations, and the roof fell down on them from above; and the Wrath seized them from directions they did not perceive.

(35) But the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that very (Wrath) at which they had scoffed hemmed them in.

(36) Behold, the youths betook themselves to the Cave: they said, "Our Lord! bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose of our affair for us in the right way!"

(37) But when they reached the Junction, they forgot (about) their Fish, which took its course through the sea (straight) as in a tunnel.

(38) He replied: "Sawest thou (what happened) when we betook ourselves to the rock? I did indeed forget (about) the Fish: none but Satan made me forget to tell (you) about it: it took its course through the sea in a marvellous way!"

(39) That is their reward, Hell, because they rejected Faith, and took My Signs and My Messengers by way of jest.

(40) He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me."
