(1171) Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these - and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).

(1172) Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way.

(1173) And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure, then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the graves).

(1174) Nay! They say: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we guide ourselves by their footsteps."

(1175) And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) to any town (people) but the luxurious ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps."

(1176) (The warner) said: "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following?" They said: "Verily, we disbelieve in that with which you have been sent."

(1177) So We took revenge on them, then see what was the end of those who denied (Islamic Monotheism).

(1178) And whosoever turns away blindly from the remembrance of the Most Gracious (Allah) (i.e. this Qur'an and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (a companion) to him.

(1179) It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin ) in the punishment.

(1180) And even if We take you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them.
