(25) There is not a township but We shall destroy it ere the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with dire punishment. That is set forth in the Book (of Our decrees).

(27) How many a generation have We destroyed before them, who were more imposing in respect of gear and outward seeming!

(28) And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound?

(29) They said: Lo! these are two wizards who would drive you out from your country by their magic, and destroy your best traditions;

(30) Is it not a guidance for them (to know) how many a generation We destroyed before them, amid whose dwellings they walk? Lo! therein verily are signs for men of thought.
