(262) Nor are alike those that are living and those that are dead. Allah can make any that He wills to hear; but thou canst not make those to hear who are (buried) in graves.

(263) Those who rehearse the Book of Allah, establish regular Prayer, and spend (in Charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a commerce that will never fail:

(264) Verily Allah knows (all) the hidden things of the heavens and the earth: verily He has full knowledge of all that is in (men's) hearts.

(265) If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered,

(266) (In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer.

(267) Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart.

(268) And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!"

(269) "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!"

(270) O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.
