(152) On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil, but the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing).

(153) The (people) said: "Ye are only men like ourselves; and (Allah) Most Gracious sends no sort of revelation: ye do nothing but lie."

(154) "And our duty is only to proclaim the clear Message."

(155) Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?-

(156) "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old,

(157) These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay.

(158) 'only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly."

(159) Is it not to Allah that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than Allah (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to Allah." Truly Allah will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But Allah guides not such as are false and ungrateful.

(160) So Allah gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they only knew!
