(221) And among His Signs in this: thou seest the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things.

(222) And those who take as protectors others besides Him,- Allah doth watch over them; and thou art not the disposer of their affairs.

(223) What! Have they taken (for worship) protectors besides Him? But it is Allah,- He is the Protector, and it is He Who gives life to the dead: It is He Who has power over all things,

(224) If then they run away, We have not sent thee as a guard over them. Thy duty is but to convey (the Message). And truly, when We give man a taste of a Mercy from Ourselves, he doth exult thereat, but when some ill happens to him, on account of the deeds which his hands have sent forth, truly then is man ungrateful!

(225) Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them.

(226) Nowise will the (Punishment) be lightened for them, and in despair will they be there overwhelmed.

(227) And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again).

(228) "Then pour over his head the Penalty of Boiling Water,

(229) Then seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn Guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?

(230) See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and never wearied with their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yea, verily He has power over all things.
