(161) On the day when their faces are turned over in the Fire, they say: Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and had obeyed His messenger!

(162) Say: Whatever reward I might have asked of you is yours. My reward is the affair of Allah only. He is Witness over all things.

(163) He maketh the night to pass into the day and He maketh the day to pass into the night. He hath subdued the sun and moon to service. Each runneth unto an appointed term. Such is Allah, your Lord; His is the Sovereignty; and those unto whom ye pray instead of Him own not so much as the white spot on a date-stone.

(164) And if they deny thee, those before them also denied. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), and with the Psalms and the Scripture giving light.

(165) And We have set a bar before them and a bar behind them, and (thus) have covered them so that they see not.

(166) It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.

(167) Therefor Glory be to Him in Whose hand is the dominion over all things! Unto Him ye will be brought back.

(168) We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.

(169) He said: My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me sovereignty such as shall not belong to any after me. Lo! Thou art the Bestower.

(170) He created you from one being, then from that (being) He made its mate; and He hath provided for you of cattle eight kinds. He created you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in a threefold gloom. Such is Allah, your Lord. His is the Sovereignty. There is no Allah save Him. How then are ye turned away?
