(391) That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);-
(392) Also, they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some leading man in either of the two (chief) cities?"
(393) So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way.
(394) When at length they provoked Us, We exacted retribution from them, and We drowned them all.
(395) We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil).
(396) "And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned."
(397) And in the alternation of Night and Day, and the fact that Allah sends down Sustenance from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the change of the winds,- are Signs for those that are wise.
(398) If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will ye (all) be brought back to your Lord.
(399) Then seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? Allah has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after Allah (has withdrawn Guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition?
(400) Mention (Hud) one of 'Ad's (own) brethren: Behold, he warned his people about the winding Sand-tracts: but there have been warners before him and after him: "Worship ye none other than Allah: Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Mighty Day."
