(34) So persevere in patience; for the Promise of Allah is true: and whether We show thee (in this life) some part of what We promise them,- or We take thy soul (to Our Mercy) (before that),-(in any case) it is to Us that they shall (all) return.

(35) If, then, they have patience, the Fire will be a home for them! and if they beg to be received into favour, into favour will they not (then) be received.

(36) And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune.

(37) But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs.

(38) And We shall try you until We test those among you who strive their utmost and persevere in patience; and We shall try your reported (mettle).

(39) If only they had patience until thou couldst come out to them, it would be best for them: but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(40) Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.
