(231) Gardens of Eden! They enter them wearing armlets of gold and pearl and their raiment therein is silk.

(232) And they cry for help there, (saying): Our Lord! Release us; we will do right, not (the wrong) that we used to do. Did not We grant you a life long enough for him who reflected to reflect therein? And the warner came unto you. Now taste (the flavour of your deeds), for evil-doers have no helper.

(233) When We sent unto them twain, and they denied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: Lo! we have been sent unto you.

(234) And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein,

(235) Burn therein this day for that ye disbelieved.

(236) Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby.

(237) Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know.

(238) Wherein, reclining, they call for plenteous fruit and cool drink (that is) therein.

(239) Surely pure religion is for Allah only. And those who choose protecting friends beside Him (say): We worship them only that they may bring us near unto Allah. Lo! Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Lo! Allah guideth not him who is a liar, an ingrate.

(240) Hast thou not seen how Allah hath sent down water from the sky and hath caused it to penetrate the earth as watersprings, and afterward thereby produceth crops of divers hues; and afterward they wither and thou seest them turn yellow; then He maketh them chaff. Lo! herein verily is a reminder for men of understanding.
